Man killed in four-vehicle crash
IPOH: A man was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Kampung Merbau Tua, Jalan Baling-Kuala Kangsar, near Kuala Kangsar this afternoon.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim had been identified as Megat Muhammad Ikram Megd Adeni, 33, from Kampung Luat, Lenggong.
He said the department received a call regarding the crash at 1.32pm firefighters from the Kuala Kangsar fire and rescue station arrived at the crash site seven minutes later.
He said the accident involved the Proton Waja driven by Megat Muhammad Ikram, who was travelling from Kuala Kangsar towards Baling, Kedah, which is believed to have collided head-on with a two-tonne Daihatsu lorry.
"According to information from the public, the accident also involved two other vehicles, a Honda car and a Toyota Hilux," he said in a statement today.
He said the lorry driver and his assistant sustained minor injuries, while the woman driving the Honda car was unharmed.
However, the condition of the Toyota Hilux driver, who is believed to have proceeded to the nearest police station after the crash, remains unknown.
He said Megat Muhammad Ikram was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was handed over to the police.
Sabarodzi said the injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The operation ended at 2.50pm.

He said that the three suspects had stormed into the premises, damaged property, and fled with an iPhone 14 Pro belonging to an employee, along with RM2,000 in cash taken from the counter. He added that the suspects also injured two customers with the machetes and smashed the windows of four vehicles parked near the premises. Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery and Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief involving damage to public property.

Police hunt masked trio after armed robbery in Teluk Intan
TELUK INTAN: Police are intensifying efforts to locate three masked men involved in a robbery at an entertainment outlet here, which left two patrons injured. Hilir Perak district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin said the incident which occurred on June 15, has gone viral on social media. He said police received a report from a 42-year-old local man working as a security guard at the entertainment premises located on Jalan Changkat Jong at 1.02am on June 15. "The man reported that three masked male suspects, armed with parang and arriving in a Honda vehicle with its licence plates removed, stormed into the premises. "They damaged property inside the premises and stole an iPhone 14 Pro belonging to an employee, along with RM2,000 in cash from the counter," he said in a statement. He added that the suspects also smashed the windows of four vehicles belonging to customers and injured two patrons using parang, both inside and outside the premises. "Initial investigations successfully identified one of the suspects as a 37-year-old local man with a prior criminal record. This suspect has now been placed on the wanted list. "The forensic unit from the Perak Police Headquarters visited the scene and found several pieces of evidence, including traces of blood, two fingerprints, and glass shards. "CCTV footage has also been obtained from the location to assist in the ongoing investigation," he added. The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery using weapons, and under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief causing damage to property. If convicted, the accused could face imprisonment of up to 20 years, along with fines and caning. Bakri said police are actively conducting investigations, and efforts to track down all involved suspects are being intensified.
