MISSING Scottish tourist Greg Monks was recently found dead in Portugal after being missing for a week following stag do celebrations.
After going missing on Wednesday, 28 May, the Scot's body was found in a ravine after a week of extensive searching in the Algarve region.

Who was Greg Monks?
Greg Monks was a 28-year-old man from Glasgow.
Greg worked as a mechanic for Doncaster-based Cementation Skanska.
He travelled to Portugal with friends for a five-day stag do in Albufeira, a coastal city in the Algarve, the southernmost point of the country.
Greg and his friends were staying at the Novochoro Apartments complex, an hour's walk away from the clubs and bars of Cerro de Aguia.

Greg told his friends that he was heading back to their accommodation after a night of drinking.
Greg was last seen in the early hours of Wednesday, May 28, near the Cerro de Aguia area of the town.
An initial report was made to police at 8pm on May 28 by another man accompanying him.

His parents and girlfriend flew out to assist in the search. After an agonising wait, his body was found a week later.
Greg's body was discovered in a remote area an hour away from the popular Albufeira strip, which is known for its rocky terrain, cliffs and ravines.
What have the police said about the incident?
Portuguese police have released an official statement: 'PJ police (Policia Judiciaria), through the Southern Directorate and with the collaboration of the Albufeira GNR police force, today located the body of a man who had been missing since May 28 in the Cerro de Aguia area of Albufeira.

'The disappearance of the 38-year-old UK citizen was reported to the Albufeira GNR at 8pm on the 28th by another man who was accompanying him on holiday in the area.
'After carrying out various enquiries and establishing the presumed route taken in the early hours of that day since the last sighting, the body was located on steep wasteland.'
No cause of death has been provided.
The body has been recovered and will be taken for an autopsy before being released, Policia Judiciaria confirmed.

Rescue operation carried out after casualty fell from cliff in Donegal
A major multi-agency rescue operation was launched after a person fell from a cliff in a seaside town in Co Donegal. The alarm was raised shortly after 7am on Saturday morning when a member of the public at the West End in Bundoran after heard calls for help and contacted the emergency services. Malin Head Coast Guard coordinated the response, tasking Bundoran RNLI, Donegal Fire Service, the National Ambulance Service, and the Sligo-based Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 118. Bundoran RNLI volunteers were paged at 7.25am and were on scene at 7.36am. The casualty was located at the base of the cliff, having landed on rocks. The RNLI crew on scene worked to recover the casualty to the beach, where the helicopter had landed to assist. The casualty was then stabilised and airlifted by Rescue 118 before being transferred to Sligo General hospital for further treatment. Bundoran RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Daimon Fergus, said the crew are grateful to the member of the public who raised the alarm. "This was a challenging situation, and thanks to the swift response and teamwork between all agencies, the casualty was reached quickly and is now receiving the medical care they need. "We wish them a full recovery,' said Mr Fergus. The RNLI reminds anyone visiting the coast to stay well back from cliff edges, take extreme care near the water, and in an emergency, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.

Deputy CEO Roger Sweeney said: "We urge everyone – parents, carers, communities, and individuals – to talk about water safety before you even leave the house, especially during warm weather when more people are drawn to the water. When you bring children or friends to a waterway, take a moment to visualise drawing an imaginary line on the ground, a clear boundary that must not be crossed until you've assessed the risks and had a real conversation about safety." "Once there, swim within your depth, stay within your depth and don't take your eyes off children - not even for a second. They need constant, uninterrupted adult supervision. That means active watching - not just being nearby. "Talk to them about the importance of lifesaving equipment like ringbuoys - and why it's crucial never to tamper with or misuse them. These are small actions - but they can make the biggest difference." Tragedy struck again with Kofi Owusu becoming the latest young person to drown. The-15-year old encountered tragedy while swimming in the River Nanny at Laytown, Co Meath; he struggled under a footbridge, reports the Irish Mirror. Despite being in the company of other boys enjoying the water, it's believed a strong current swept him away and led to his submersion. A member of the public sounded the alarm at around 6.15pm on Friday, sparking a swift search and rescue endeavour that ended with the tragic discovery of the his body in the river shortly after 9.30pm. Kofi, who resided in the Blackrock area of Dundalk in Co Louth, had newly completed his Junior Cert when he joined a group of teens on a trip to Laytown for the day. Notably talented, Kofi was also a key player for the Coláiste Chu Chulainn squad from Dundalk, having played in last year's All-Ireland Cup 'B' U-16 final. The stretch of river where the drowning occurred presents treacherous conditions, with tidal flows and powerful swirling currents posing risks even to skilled swimmers. Labour TD Ged Nash said the youth's passing is indeed a "dreadful tragedy". He said: "This is a dreadful tragedy and an indescribable loss to the young man's family and friends. My heart goes out to Kofi's family, his friends and all of those who witnessed Friday evening's terrible tragedy. "The community thanks the emergency services and local volunteers for their actions. I want to appeal to everyone who wants to enjoy the water to do so safely and to take all of the necessary precautions and safety advice." Following the initial alert, the Dublin-based Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter was circling overhead within 25 minutes and the Drogheda Coast Guard Unit was promptly deployed. Kofi's remains were moved to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination was scheduled. Local Fine Gael councillor Sharon Tolan said the community is shrouded in sorrow. Her statement read: "My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the tragic accident in Laytown. Please think long and hard before posting any commentary on any social media pages." Irishman among three held after €110m drugs haul on yacht
An Irishman is among three people arrested after Portuguese police and military intercepted a yacht with more than 1.5 tonnes of cocaine on board off the Azores. Two Danish men were also arrested after 1,660 kilos of the class-A drug, with a potential street value of around €110m, were found on the 11-metre vessel. All three were in Sao Miguel Prison in the capital, Ponta Delgada, after being remanded by a judge following their first court appearance on Friday.
