Sky confirms huge channel shake-up this week and your TV box will be affected
Sky is shaking up some of its channels to make things easier to find - here's what's new.
If you switch on your Sky TV box and notice a swathe of channel changes, you won't be alone. The telecoms and TV giant is shaking things up this week with over 30 services being moved on the telly planner. The revamp is targeting Sky's plethora of radio channels, which allow you to tune into stations such as BBC, Capital FM, Heart and talkSPORT without needing a separate speaker.
So why is everything moving? A post on Sky's community pages says the reason things are being switched around is to "close the gaps in the EPG" (Electronic Program Guide).
Hopefully, this should make it far easier to get to the things you want to listen to.
It's been confirmed that the upgrade is taking place this week, starting May 27th. Mirror Online has checked our Sky Q box and the update has already arrived.

It's worth noting that you don't need to touch the settings or start retuning your box with things being switched over automatically.
Along with getting those new radio channels this week, there's another reason to check your Q box.
Sky has confirmed that it is offering free movies until May 31 to say sorry for this month's issue that left some users without access to contnet.
"We're gifting you a Sky Store Buy & Keep movie — it's our way of saying thank you for bearing with us," Sky said in an email.
Movies available as part of the gift include blockbusters such as Bullet Train, Jumanji: The Next Level, Les Misérables, Venom, Gladiator, Brides Maids and The Equalizer.
To grab this bonus, Sky Q customers can click on the Sky Store from the homepage. Then they will see a 'Your Sky Store gift on us' tile at the top.
It's then simply a question of picking a film. "Once downloaded, this is yours to keep forever," Sky added.

Known for more than just her radio voice, Amy is the daughter of former Scottish football player and manager, Davie Irons. She's a familiar face to footie fans as a host for BBC Scotland and a trackside reporter for Premier Sports. She's also an anchor for the Beeb's Reporting Scotland: News at Seven and one half of the hit Sacked in the Morning podcast with Craig Levein. Tech lovers can spread the cost of the newest MacBook Air and Samsung's best tablet on the market on Sky For shoppers who want some of the latest tech but want to spread the cost, there are ways to ensure they stay up-to-date with the latest MacBook Air, Galaxy Tabs, and other devices without paying full price at once. We have been covering many Sky deals that allow shoppers to spread the cost, including some great deals that offer huge amounts of cashback. Prices start from £22 a month and drop to as low as £5 a month for certain tablets, making them perfect if paying for devices outright seems slightly out of reach. The device costs less than £200 to buy outright at retailers like Amazon, but not everyone will want to pay that much upfront. Amazon currently has it on sale for £160, but Sky's plan offers a decent alternative for splitting the cost into what feels like more affordable payments each month. The 11-inch screen tablet is being dished out on Sky for £5 a month, thanks to a new deal by the TV and broadband provider. There are alternatives to consider, however. Shoppers could spend a bit more on the Samsung Galaxy S9 FE for £449, complete with a free S Pen. Alternatively, for £17 a month, Apple fans can get the 11-inch iPad Air device with the new M3 chip. Shoppers have fallen in love with the tablet, with stellar reviews on Amazon and other retailers. One shopper said: "I bought this as a companion for my Pixel phone, mostly for watching movies at home while the kids monopolise the TV. I have noticed that while at home, I'm now doing most things on it as when connected to my phone it sends texts (WhatsApp and normal texts) and makes WhatsApp calls. But one shopper added: "I was not overly impressed with the display, and some video is not very 'bright', but overall the A9 is ok, and it is a Samsung, so I know the build is good quality." Apple MacBook Air with M4 chip Sky is offering the device at £22 per month. This 48-month contract includes the MacBook Air with Apple's fastest and latest chip and a storage capacity of 256 GB. It comes with the latest M4 chip promises smooth performance for all your needs, boasting up to 18 hours of battery life and built-in Apple Intelligence to help users accomplish tasks effortlessly. Customers have a choice of four stunning colours, including Sky Blue, Midnight and Silver. Shoppers want to hunt around for other deals, there are plenty of things to choose from. Argos currently has a special offer on this Acer Aspire i5 laptop for £549 for Windows fans. Meanwhile, Apple users can get a refurbished M2 MacBook Air from BackMarket for £731. Tech experts at the Daily Express reviewed the M4 MacBook Air earlier in March, and to say they were impressed would be an understatement- they awarded it a full five stars. However, tech editor David Snelling noted: "Yes, it's a bit of a shame that you only get two USB-C ports on one side of the device. Although it starts from a cheaper £999, it can get expensive if you start adding extras." Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra Sky is allowing shoppers who don't want to spend more than £1,000 at once on the newest Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra to spread the cost down to £30 a month, with £300 cashback to be claimed as well. Samsung has launched its Shine Bright campaign, which means shoppers who buy certain products can also get a big chunk of cash in their accounts. After buying certain products, Samsung fans just have to go here and claim their £300 cashback. If this Sky deal seems tempting, shoppers can buy the tablet here, then go to Samsung's promotional page here and log a claim. Although the claim window closes on June 24. Samsung is also offering £100 cashback on the Galaxy Watch Ultra, meaning this Amazon purchase will cost £399. Samsung is also handing out £200 cashback on the Galaxy S25 Ultra phone f rom Samsung here, including £200 trade-in credit on old phones. The team at the Daily Express reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S10 Ultra model right here and sung its praises. As David Snelling said: "Is the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra a brilliant tablet? 100% yes! But he did note: "No matter how good it is, that 14.6-inch panel is just too big for me, especially when travelling, and that's important as this is the time, like most people, when I use my tablet the most."
