Did Urvashi Rautela get stuck in a revolving door at Cannes?
Urvashi Rautela
had a glamorous moment as she stepped up on the Cannes Red Carpet in a colourful dress, complete with an exquisite purse. However, its a less-than-glamorous video of the actress that has taken social media by storm.
A viral clip doing the rounds online sees Rautela apparently getting trapped inside a revolving door at the prestigious Carlton Hotel. Dressed in an elaborate white gown with ruffles and a train, the actress could be seen visibly distressed as the revolving glass door suddenly halts mid-rotation. Her team and hotel staff were seen trying to manually turn the door. However, as it appeared to be stuck, they even tried turning the door backwards. This led many to speculate whether the dress itself was to blame for the malfunction.
While the clip ends with the situation seemingly under control, the incident has already become meme material for netizens.
One user joked, "First woman to be stuck inside a revolving door. One more feather in the cap!" Another quipped, "Urvashi mandir jana padega ab," suggesting divine intervention might be needed. A particularly dramatic comment read, "Did Daku Maharaj come to rescue?" referencing an internet inside joke from earlier Rautela appearances.
Theories quickly spun out, with one user sarcastically commenting, "Don't worry guys, this is just a PR stunt for @finaldestinationmovie."
The video has also sparked debates about whether the viral moment was an accident or an orchestrated stunt.
The
Cannes Film Festival
organisers made headlines early this week when they revealed a set of rules for celebs' red carpet-appearances. This year, the declaration that nudity and 'voluminous' outfits, in particular large trains, are banned by festivalgoers raised eyebrows. The move to ban nude looks comes amid the 'naked dress' trend on red carpets. Cannes press officers said earlier this week the festival 'made explicit in its charter certain rules that have long been in effect.'
