Three in hospital after exploding vape left charging on a bed blows up four terraced houses
Three people have been hospitalised after an exploding vape that had been left 'charging on a bed' gutted four terraced houses.
The fire ravaged through the first home on Grey Street, Gainsborough, at around 1pm on Friday before tearing through three neighbouring properties, leaving them uninhabitable.
Relatives said the vape had begun emitting plumes of smoke and a resident removed the charger before the device blew up and 'set the house on fire'.
Cherrie Hall was called to the scene by her ex-partner, whose mum owns the property.
Ms Hall said the fire has left the woman 'absolutely devastated' as she recovers in hospital with two other people who suffered injuries after the inferno.
She added: 'We drove straight round and saw all the fire engines and the firemen, roofs caved in.'

'Luckily the paramedics were already at the house for a separate thing when the vape exploded and set the house on fire.
'She's absolutely devastated but is so in awe and amazed with the community and how much they've helped all families involved.'
Helen Tooley of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue told the BBC that three houses had been decimated by the blaze.
She said: 'It's gone through the roof spaces, unfortunately. So quite significant damage to those three houses.
'The fourth one, next to it, there is a hole in the roof, and there was extensive smoke damage as well in that one.'
She added: 'If you are using vapes or any electronic equipment that needs charging, please use the proper chargers. Make sure it's in a safe place. Unplug it if you're not in the room.'
All three people in hospital after not believed to have life threatening injuries.
A fundraiser has also been set up through GoFundMe to support the families affected by the fire.

Police searching Ecclesall Woods for missing Sheffield man

Victim and suspect hunted after hammer attack in Leicester
Police have urged anyone with information about an alleged hammer attack to contact them after officers were unable to find either the assailant or victim.A number of people reported the alleged attack, which is took place in High Street, Market Harborough at 17.30 BST on officers were then sent to the scene, but they were unable to find a casualty or the who witnessed the event or has information on it has been asked to contact police.
