SIPITANG: Kampung Kaban residents want the Youth and Sports Ministry to investigate the renovation of a volleyball court carried out by a contractor which the community claim was done without their consultation or proper authorisation. The situation is further complicated by the location of the renovated court, which sits within the grounds of a church currently under construction that may eventually be demolished. The community's frustration stems not only from the lack of consultation but also from the apparent waste of resources on unnecessary repairs while genuine maintenance needs go unaddressed. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said the case will be probed under the Sedition Act and Penal Code and referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers once completed. He confirmed no arrests have been made but noted that many tourists witnessed the act, which caused public concern near the busy Gaya Street Sunday Market. The protest was held with police approval and aimed to demand government accountability, anti-corruption reforms, and solutions to campus infrastructure problems. Khairul Firdaus calls for generational shift in Moyog leadership

'Gagasan Rakyat not seeking dominance in GRS'

Speaking at the Darau Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) conference on Sunday, he emphasised that unity among component parties is essential for political stability in Sabah. Razali acknowledged grassroots support for him to contest in the upcoming state election but said the people's will must take precedence. He pledged to support any consensus candidate, regardless of party, if it ensures continued stability for the State.
