Apple's stunning Beats Studio Buds+ are on sale at a new record low price with a 1-year warranty

Phone Arena12-06-2025

Unwilling to wait for the potentially impending release of the long overdue AirPods Pro 3? Unwilling to spend more money than you absolutely have to on a cool new pair of Apple-made wireless earbuds? Then why not go for the Beats Studio Buds Plus right now at Woot?
The Amazon-owned e-tailer is charging a lower-than-ever $84.99 for these noise-cancelling bad boys in grade A refurbished condition and a grand total of three color options. And while I know that some of you may not always feel entirely comfortable buying refurbished gear, Woot will hook you up with a 1-year warranty if you hurry and order a "like-new" pair of Studio Buds+ guaranteed to have "minimal" cosmetic damage not noticeable "at arm's length."
$85 off (50%) True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio, IPX4 Water Resistance, Class 1 Bluetooth, Up to 9 Hours of Uninterrupted Music Listening, 36 Hours of Combined Battery Life, Pocket-Sized Charging Case with USB-C Connector, Three Color Options, Grade A Refurbished, 1-Year Warranty Included Buy at Woot True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio, IPX4 Water Resistance, Class 1 Bluetooth, Up to 9 Hours of Uninterrupted Music Listening, 36 Hours of Combined Battery Life, Pocket-Sized Charging Case with USB-C Connector, Four Color Options Buy at Amazon
In other words, you'll basically not be able to tell the difference between the refurbs on sale here at a killer price in Transparent, Black, and Ivory flavors and the brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged units available on Amazon for $15 more in four colorways. That's also a pretty good deal, mind you, especially when you consider that the Apple-made Beats Studio Buds+ haven't been sold at a heftier discount than $70 from a $170 list price before.
But if you can save 85 bucks (or 50 percent) without cutting any functionality corners and making (almost) no compromises from a cosmetic condition perspective, why would you ever turn down the opportunity and settle for a (slightly) smaller discount? With state-of-the-art active noise cancellation, top-notch Transparency mode, excellent overall sound quality, crystal clear calls, a battery life of up to 9 hours (or 36 hours with the bundled charging case factored in), and an undeniably stylish design (especially in a Transparent version), these are undoubtedly among the greatest wireless earbuds money can buy in 2025, arguably beating the likes of the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 in terms of bang for your buck.
While Woot is technically planning to keep its latest and greatest Studio Buds Plus promotion going until the end of the month, that might not be possible if many of you jump at the opportunity to pull the trigger at $84.99, so it's probably wise to hurry and not wait for the deal's final days to make your purchase.

However, press the Recents tab and you'll notice how all of the calls have been moved inside rectangular fields with rounded corners. Previously, Recent Calls was just one long list of names and avatars. The dial pad is also unchanged except for the background which has rounded corners on the top of the pad. The suggested phone numbers above the pad are inside rectangular fields with rounded corners after the redesign arrives. New Material 3 Expressive design for the Google Phone app. | Image credit-PhoneArena The All, Missed, Contacts, Non-Spam, and Spam filters have changed and also use the rectangular fields to provide a shortcut allowing you to send a message to that person, or view your call history with that person. With the redesign, Google added a shortcut that places you one tap away from making a video call to a particular contact or someone you've recently been in touch with. The Settings menu for the Google Phone app also features the containers that are prevalent all over the redesigned app. Current design for the Google Phone app. | Image credit-PhoneArena When you get an incoming call, you can swipe left to decline the call or swipe right to accept it. The picture of the caller or his profile icon will rotate inside a scallop-shaped design until you accept or decline the call. The circular buttons turn into pill-shaped buttons that change into rounded rectangles when pressed. The "end call" button now stands out more, is wider, and is more prominent. The redesign requires beta version 180 of the Google Phone app and while I am running that version of the Phone app on my Pixel 6 Pro, it is a server-side update and I was unable to get the new look to surface. It is a more modern design of an overlooked app and looks great. When it does appear on my Pixel 6 Pro , I will update this story. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Apple is considering buying Perplexity AI

Google pays Apple $20 billion annually to remain the default search engine on the latter's internet browser Safari. The ongoing antitrust trial regarding this matter may see this arrangement dissolved, which will be a major blow to both such a thing happens, Perplexity AI can replace Google on Safari as an AI-powered search engine instead. Google shares fell when news about Apple's plans to acquire Perplexity AI were first reported by Bloomberg Of course, such an acquisition would be an undeniable boon for Apple's research and development of AI.— and the features it promised during WWDC 2024 — still remains incomplete. In particular, a smarter Siri digital assistant is nowhere to be found as of AI's talent could help Apple speed up its AI development and not get left behind. Apple's failures in AI have given its rivals, Samsung and Google, a clear victory. Consumers who care about AI on smartphones will, understandably, choose a Galaxy S25 or a Pixel 9 instead of an iPhone 16 . This is also why Apple is following Samsung's lead and is reportedly discussing bringing Google's flagship AI model Gemini to iPhone If Apple acquires Perplexity AI, it could once again become a force to be reckoned with. It will be able to resume its work on its upcoming smart home hub as well as smart AR glasses . Such an acquisition will be costly, but I think it would serve Apple for decades to come.

AT&T wins court approval to pay $177 million settlement over data breaches

Last year AT&T suffered through data breaches that exposed personal data belonging to tens of millions of the carrier's customers. That led to a class action lawsuit being filed against the wireless provider by AT&T subscribers. The nation's third-largest carrier eventually agreed to settle the class-action lawsuit for the tidy sum of $177 million and on Friday the settlement was approved by U.S. District Judge Ada Brown in Dallas. Brown called the settlement fair and reasonable. There were two data breaches announced by AT&T last year with one revealed in May and the other in July. Depending on the breach involved, an AT&T customer who can show that they suffered losses "fairly traceable" to the breaches will receive a payment up to $2,500 or a payment up to $5,000. After paying off those who were victimized by direct losses, smaller payments will go out to those whose personal information was accessed in the data breaches. One of the incidents resulted in call logs being copied from a company workspace on a Snowflake cloud platform. The data copied covered six months of customer call and text data from 2022 covering almost all of the carrier's customers. In March 2024, AT&T said that it was investigating data covering 7.6 million current account holders and 65.4 million former account holders whose personal data was released on the dark web. AT&T said it believed the data set dated back to 2019 or earlier. Despite agreeing to the settlements, AT&T made it clear that it believes it was not at fault denying that it was "responsible for these criminal acts." The carrier claims, "We have agreed to this settlement to avoid the expense and uncertainty of protracted litigation." AT&T expects final approval of the settlement to come late in 2025 with settlement payments expected to start arriving early in 2026. The FCC is also doing detective work trying to find out why, in 2023, an AT&T cloud vendor whose contract expired a few years before, was the subject of a data breach allowing 8.9 million customers to have their data exposed. This data was supposed to have been deleted prior to the data breach. Luckily, the vendor was not responsible for storing very sensitive data and most of the information exposed was AT&T customers' bill balances. This data covered customers who were with AT&T from 2015 through 2017 and the data should have been deleted in 2017 or 2018. To settle this incident, AT&T paid a $13 million fine imposed on it by the FCC. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! We may earn a commission if you make a purchase Check Out The Offer
