RAVE NEW WORLD Inside UNVRS: I went clubbing at the world's first hyperclub that opened in Ibiza this week
UNVRS, pronounced Universe - described as the world's first hyper club, has opened in Ibiza with a big bang.
The new club promises to launch a new era of futuristic clubbing - so I headed down on the opening night to find out what that really meant.

There has been a nightclub on the site - 20 minutes inland from Ibiza Old Town - since 1979, when it first opened as Ku.
It was then rebranded as Privilege in 1995 when it became known as the world's largest club with parties of up to 10,000 people at a time.
Now, after viral marketing campaigns featuring a UFO sighting, and Hollywood star Will Smith, plus a multi-million pound makeover, it has been redesigned as the 'world's first hyperclub.'
And what does that mean exactly? Apparently, it's the combination of high-end luxury and attention to detail, in an arena-sized event.
Everything is handmade in such detail that it's supposed to be as perfect acoustically as an opera house, with the walls made of a porous material and the bar tilted to avoid the cavernous echo that you get in so many massive nightclubs.
I joined thousands of revellers on opening night, which saw Carl Cox's return to Ibiza for a 14-week residency at UNVRS - his first on the island since Space closed in 2016.
And it is MASSIVE. The club is so huge that you can easily lose your bearings in the underground network of corridors and dance rooms - helpfully, there is free wifi in case you lose your mates in the maze.
But it is very, very slick. The main room is where all the magic happens, with a soundsystem that is crisper and clearer than any other on the island.
Aerial acrobats perform high above the VIP balconies and main dance floor, where the Privilege swimming pool has been consigned to history.
The immersive lighting was next level too, as the lights come towards you, instead of just vertically, making you feel almost connected to the stage and helps to overcome the feeling of so many people in one room together.
The best bit was at dawn, when the screens behind the DJ decks turned off to reveal 12-metre cathedral-like windows showing off the spectacular sunrise over the island - well worth hanging on for, given the club stays open to 6am each night.
And the famous Privilege glass dome? That's been kept intact, and now houses a huge sculpture called the Tree of Life.

There's some outside space on the garden terrace known as the Gravity Garden and Sky Deck too, which has been decorated with lots of greenery.
The new venue is the brain child of The Night League, who is also responsible for major island nightclubs Ushuaïa and Hï.
And they've introduced many of the much-loved elements they've already tested at Hï, including the mini nightclub in the loos.
Called The Wild Comet (it's The Wild Corner at Hï), there's a smaller dance room underground where unisex loo cubicles line the walls and a DJ plays in the centre of the room.
It's certainly the vibiest public toilet I've ever been to, although the unique queuing system takes some getting used it, and by that I mean there is no queue and you have to hover and look out for one of the loo doors opening.
There is also a karaoke room that could easily fit around 150 people and a fast food joint.
The outlet of Spanish brand Vicio Burger serves burgers for €23 (£19.40) and chips for €8 (£6.76), or a very fancy-sounding chicken strips topped with caviar for €80 (£67.50).
UNVRS things to know before you go
Location - San Rafael, Ibiza
Doors open 2300
Over 18s - don't forget your photo ID
The dress code - no flip-flops, sleeveless shirts, or swimsuits, sports team T-shirts, and clothing
with ideological or religious references. No shorts for men
The lineup:
Mondays - ERIC PRYDZ WITH HOLOSPHERE 2.0
Tuesdays - ANYMA
Wednesdays - JAMIE JONES WITH PARADISE
Thursdays - FISHER
Fridays - DAVID GUETTA WITH GALACTIC CIRCUS
Saturdays - ELROW
Sundays - CARL COX
While it quite quiet when we visited around 2am, I can see it being very popular with punters before they head home.
Prices for drinks at the bar weren't cheap, at €15 (£12.67) for a bottle of water and €26 (£21.96) for a glass of wine, but they are pretty much in line with Ibiza super club prices.
But the club also plays a part in keeping costs down too - laying on shuttle buses from San Antonio and Ibiza Old Town that are included in the price of the club ticket.
Without a doubt, UNVRS has elevated the nightclub experience and it's definitely the best super club in Ibiza now.
Other, more historic places might have more soul, but this is the most advance and forward-thinking club.
Plus, the music is what makes the night, and with an enviable DJ line up including Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, David Guetta, Jamie Jones and the unique Elrow party, it's become the must-visit of the island for clubbers both young and old.

James Argent parties with TOWIE pals at Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet's wedding after ex Nicoline Arthursson broke her silence on assault amid his suspended jail sentence

James Argent was all smiles as he celebrated the wedding of Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet - just weeks after his ex Nicoline Arthursson broke her silence following his suspended jail sentence. The former TOWIE star, 37, was recently handed a suspended sentence and ordered to attend a domestic violence course after pleading guilty to 'mistreatment' for pushing Nicoline down a flight of steps at their home in Spain. But despite Nicoline's powerful statement addressing the incident, James seemed unfazed as he posted a series of joyful snaps from his pals lavish ceremony on Saturday, showing him partying the night away. Dressed in an all-white ensemble paired with a baby blue dinner jacket, the reality star beamed as he posed alongside Georgia and groom Tommy. He also posted snaps with pro boxer Conor Benn, and his former TOWIE co-stars Chloe Lewis and Dan Edgar. James captioned the snaps: 'My Best Friend's Wedding Congratulations to @georgiakousoulou and @iamtommyfordham.' He continued: 'I'll never forget us all being in Ibiza over 10 years ago, When you first got together. I knew back then you were destined for each other. You've stuck by each other's side through thick & thin. 'Tommy always said I would sing at their wedding one day & it happened. I had so much fun being your Master Of Ceremonies too, You've both always supported me. 'I can't wait to make many more memories together as we get older, I love you both so much.' Just hours earlier Georgia took to her Instagram page to share the jovial news with her followers, posting two stunning photographs from their big day. The couple tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony in the picture-perfect destination on Friday, June 20 - which also happened to be Georgia's 34th birthday in a special touch. It is the second time they have said 'I do' as they officially got married in a low-key ceremony in December 2023, before celebrating again in a larger, destination wedding this week. For the nuptials, Georgia stunned in a gorgeous white lace gown with a thigh-high side split, which she styled with strapped stiletto heels. She fixed a dramatic train in her golden tresses as she cuddled up to Tommy, 33, who cut a dapper figure in a beige suit. Alongside the post, James gushed over Georgia and Tommy's love story The couple were joined by their young children, Brody, four, and Gigi, seven months as well as their friends and family, including Chloe Ross, Sam Mucklow and Danielle Armstrong. In a caption, Georgia gushed over her 'dream wedding' after almost two years of waiting for their big day after their first nuptials. She also teased that fans would soon be able to watch the entire ceremony as they plan to share a video of the day. She gushed: '20.06.2025. Our Dream wedding finally happened. Best day of our lives. Surrounded by so much love. 'Can not wait to get all of our pictures & videos back to show you how incredible it was & you'll be able to watch it all.' Video footage shared by Nathan Massey showed Georgia and Tommy appearing happier than ever as they energetically danced the night away at the reception. Other wedding guests including Shelby Tribble took to Instagram to share photographs from the special day as they gave an insight into the party. Shelby shared a gorgeous snap of her posing alongside bride Georgia as well as photographs of her posing with her partner Sam Mucklow. She looked as glamorous as ever in a frilled blue dress while Sam looked suave in a sand suit as they soaked up the sun on the big day. Shelby also posted photographs of the extravagant dinner table at the outdoor reception, which was complete with pink bouquets of flowers and chandeliers. The newlyweds certainly pulled out all the stops for the special day and also provided guests with small bottles reading: 'We've tied the knot so take a shot!' Cara De La Hoyde also posted a sweet video of herself and her husband Nathan Massey cuddling up to one another as they celebrated their friends' union. For the day, Cara cut a glamorous figure in a show-stopping yellow sequin gown with a plunging back design, while Nathan looked suave in a grey suit. Taking to Instagram, she penned in a caption: 'The most beautiful day to celebrate the most beautiful couple. ThankYou & for letting us be part of it.' They were inundated with congratulatory messages from their delighted friends and fans. Jess Wright wrote: 'Congratulations guys absolutely gorgeous,' while Danielle Armstrong gushed: 'Literally the best wedding EVER!!! Love you guys congratulations. Round 2 later.' Sam Mucklow said: 'Amazing day,' and Amelia Murs added: 'Congratulations.' Ella Rae Wise commented: 'You look beautiful. Congratulations to you both.. I wish you both health, wealth & happiness.' Billie Shepherd shared: 'Huge congratulations, you look beautiful, lots of love,' as newlywed Dani Dyer gushed: 'So beautiful and perfect!! Congratulations.' Georgia previously kept the location of her much-anticipated destination wedding a secret, teasing: 'Everyone already knows it's in Majorca, but I won't reveal exactly where, I want it to be a surprise! 'I want everyone to be like: "Oh, my God!" when they see it. I'm about to up the game. I just hope everyone loves it'.' Georgia stressed that the wedding was very much the product of her own imagination and her husband had minimal involvement. She told OK!: 'I ask him for his opinions, but honestly, I don't want him to get involved. It's my thing. I want him to be shocked, like, "Wow, this is amazing!"'. The couple's first official wedding in December 2023 was a much more low-key affair and ended with a humble Chinese takeaway. Georgia told The Sun about the nuptials at the time: 'We came back to mine and had a Chinese. It was unreal. It is so me and Tommy. 'I literally got back, got my PJs on straight away and we had a Chinese. 'The best bit about it was that we hired tables. So we had a top table…And we all just stuffed our faces with Chinese … it was actually brilliant. So good.' Ahead of her second wedding, Georgia enjoyed a wild, fun-filled hen party in Ibiza at Wayne Lineker's O Club. The star poked fun at the end of her single days by having her and her girlfriends dress in black. The star was joined by longtime pals including Amber Dowding and Lydia Bright as they got into the partying spirit at the celebrity hotspot. The happy couple's romance first blossomed in 2014 when Tommy became a TOWIE cast member. Georgia and Tommy met a few months before filming TOWIE at the gym, with Tommy experiencing an instant attraction to his now wife. After going from strength to strength over the next six years, they revealed they were expecting their first child in December 2020. Tommy wrote at the time that his life felt 'complete' and they went on to welcome a son, Brody Fordham, in May 2021. Then, in 2022, Tommy finally popped the question in Mexico, preparing a lavish beach surprise with rose petals and candles. The couple, who famously enjoyed an early date at a pie and mash shop, announced that they were engaged in February of that year before making it official the following December. Their family then grew to four when they welcomed their second child, a baby girl, Gigi Fordham, in November 2024. Gigi's birth came after they bravely opened up about experiencing a miscarriage and undergoing IVF as they attempted to grow their family.

Jennifer Ellison's low-key life away from showbiz after 'traumatic' relationship

Jennifer Ellison was subject to a 'traumatic' time in her formative years, after getting involved with gangster ex Tony Richardson at the age of just 16 - here's how she turned everything around Soap icon Jennifer Ellison rose to fame as Emily Shadwick in Channel 4 's Liverpool-based show Brookside. Having joined the show aged just 15, she was by her own admission, a "baby", but she was forced to grow up quickly, after fame and her abusive relationship pushed her abruptly into adulthood. When she left the show in 2002, after four years, her character was killed off during a robbery, when she fell from a window. But her personal life had become more dramatic than her on-screen saga, with her ex partner's gang activities threatening her life. ‌ With the actress was dragged into the criminal underworld, she managed to end the relationship when he was unfaithful to her. Since then, she's turned it around, opting for a low-key life away from showbiz, as she started a family and finally got her 'happy ever after'. ‌ Although she happily runs her own business in Liverpool, the star occasionally dabbles showbiz. Over the years, Jennifer had made appearances on reality TV show Hell's Kitchen, ITV's Dancing On Ice and most recently Celebrity SAS: Who Dares wins. Here we look at what lead to her peaceful life as a dance studio owner. Double life When Jennifer met gangster Tony Richardson in 1999, she was just 16 years old and within 12 months the pair were engaged. But during her formative years, Jennifer was subjected to abuse and violence, with her older boyfriend controlling and hurting her - a far cry from her showbiz lifestyle, glamour model shoots and glitzy parties. Jennifer has since admitted she endured a catalogue of abuse, including a broken collar bone and a beer bottle smashed over her head. Jennifer told Cosmopolitan in 2013: "The attacks started pretty early on in our relationship. It began with mental rather than physical abuse. He'd criticise how I looked, accuse me of flirting with other men and question me all the time about who I'd been with and where I'd been. "Once, about six years ago, he smashed me over the head with a beer bottle in front of all my friends. My face, eyes, hair and mini dress were covered in blood. I was told Tony ran out of the London club we were in, chased by bouncers." Jennifer confessed that she would avoid seeing friends and family when she had bruises from his attacks, willing him to change. She added: "I can't tell you how many times I lied to protect him. When he broke my collarbone in 2005, I told doctors I'd fallen, because I thought it was my fault." ‌ Outside their relationship, Jennifer was also constantly looking over her shoulder thanks to Tony's criminal activity. She was embroiled in more violence, from fire-bombings to drive-by shootings. The tumultuous era came to a close when her partner was caught cheating on her with footballer John Terry's ex, Shalimar Wimble. But far from being devastated, Jennifer described his unfaithfulness as a "get out of jail free card", admitting she finally had a reason to leave. Tony was later jailed for eight years after being convicted of a sword attack in Liverpool. Body image and weight gain Jennifer's weight has been under scrutiny following her lad's mags days, meaning the star's body image has suffered. She went up to a size 18 following the births of her children, before slimming down to a size 10 over three months in 2017. ‌ But Jennifer rightfully hit back at her critics. Speaking to Lorraine previously, she explained her weight peaked in 2015 after the birth of her third son. Jennifer declared: "I don't care about trolls. What I look like is not a priority." She added: "My husband still looks at me the way he did when I was nine stone, after doing my fitness DVD. I'm happy and feel so loved. He thinks I'm the sexiest woman in the world. "So I'm not worried, because he finds me as attractive as he always did and he loves my bum and my boobs. If he turned round and said I didn't look too good, I would do more about it but he thinks I'm stunning. Love is blind." ‌ But in a bid to kick her sugar addiction, she appeared on ITV reality show Sugar Free Farm in 2015 and shed the weight once again. In 2017, she proudly shared her achievement on Instagram: "Ok so today was measurements day! ! ! So proud to say I've lost a further massive 6.5 inches of body fat in a month! And today I felt brave enough to take a pic after training without a big baggy top over! ! ! I've gone from a size 18 to a 10 in just over 3 months." She added: "I still have a long way to go to get back to what I was but 2 stone lighter and 27 inches of body fat later I'm feeling SOOOO much better! Thanks to the most amazing trainer ever Tony Swift for keeping our sessions amazing and challenging and to my training partner Rob Tickle who's absolutely smashing the results too." Reality TV 'therpay' Although she appeared to have put her traumatic past behind her, taking part in 2022's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins opened up old wounds, as she faced her demons. Jennifer opened up to former Commando Jason 'Foxy' Fox in the show's famous mirror room, admitting her life with Tony left her feeling worthless. ‌ She explained at the time: "It was a volatile relationship and he was connected with this other world, this gangland world. For years and years I thought that life was normal and bad things like that happened to everyone because it happened in the world I was in. "I was having nails in my letter box, going into hiding and fearing for your life walking down the street. That's not normal. It's just been one of those things that I kind of buried, just kind of got on with life and got on with everything. ‌ 'I look back and think how it was so traumatic. It was so horrific what I was going through. I was such a young girl, I was a baby. I feel like opening up in the mirror room about that has put that part of my life to bed. It was like the best therapy session ever.' Jennifer's happy ever after Years after splitting from Tony, Jennifer's life is now content and peaceful as she focuses on her family and her dance school. Jennifer met boxer Rob Tickle in 2008, with the pair tying the knot in Mauritius the year after. They've been happily married ever since and Jen has become a mother to their three sons, Bobby, 12, Harry, seven, and Charlie, six. She is also stepmum to two daughters, Sophie and Chloe, both 24. ‌ Now, Jennifer enjoys getting involved in productions with her dance school, and spending time with her family. She regularly shares their trips on social media. Recently, Jennifer shared her skiing trip with her boys, writing: "The most magical trip ever, with the bestest people you will ever meet! Never in a million years did I think I would enjoy something so much and even more so because I watched my boys have the time of their lives, skiing, making snow balls, sledging, playing darts, UNO, snap they did it all not a phone in sight and wow was it a dream! Memories that will last a lifetime time, a trip we will never forget" ‌ And her and Rob are going strong after 17 years together. The couple recently spent some child-free time together in the Scottish Highlands, where they ate delicious-looking food and explored the outdoors. Jennifer shared a series of photos of them together, writing: "Thank you my love for the most gorgeous time away! Loved spending quality time just the two of us, celebrating 17 amazing years together. "So lucky to have you and can't wait for the rest of our lives together. Love you forever and always @

New markets to showcase creative talent heading to Glasgow

Tea Green Events is launching a series of design markets across Scotland, celebrating the work of emerging and established designers in venues including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. Founded by Dundee-based jeweller Joanne MacFadyen, the events will feature more than 70 designers presenting artwork, knitwear, jewellery, pottery and more. (Image: Steven McClure) Read more: GoMA workshop turns asylum seekers' art into postcards and tote bags Joanne said: "We held our very first market at the Glasgow School of Art Students' Union, so returning to the city always feels special, especially in venues as stunning as Kelvingrove and The Burrell Collection. "They provide the perfect backdrop for our designers' incredible work. "As a child, I spent a lot of time visiting these places and they were a huge source of inspiration to me. "Returning with Tea Green and some of Scotland's most talented makers is a genuine honour. "It's always so moving to see the people of Glasgow turn out in such numbers to support these creatives, many of whom are quietly working away in home studios across the city each day, perfecting their art. "People really value meeting the makers, hearing their stories, and discovering how each piece is made." The first market of the season will take place at Kelvingrove on June 28 and 29, with the 2025 calendar set to include events at The Burrell Collection, V&A Dundee, Aberdeen Art Gallery and National Galleries of Scotland: Portrait in Edinburgh. One of the designers taking part is artist and illustrator Steven McClure, who began drawing during the pandemic. "My journey has taken me from designing buildings to selling them, and now to drawing them. "I love being part of the Tea Green markets because so many people stop by to share their stories about the places I've drawn. "It's lovely to hear how my work resonates with their own memories and experiences. "There's a real sense of pride that comes from selling or being commissioned to capture a building or landmark that holds deep personal meaning for someone. "From a business perspective, Tea Green has also been a brilliant platform. "It's raised my profile, connected me with buyers, and even led to some local shops now stocking my prints, which has been a fantastic step forward for my work."
