Sky offers you 35 extra channels for free this weekend, here's how to claim them

Daily Mirror07-06-2025

Sky is back with a limited-time incentive that's offering over 35 premium channels for free.
It's not every day you get something for free, but that's exactly what Sky has decided to offer over this weekend. Customers can bag themselves over 35 premium channels without having to reach for their credit cards. This blockbuster update has been launched as part of Sky's Ultimate TV Weekender, and those who subscribe won't want to miss out.
So, who gets the free channels and how do you claim them? Sky says there's no action required with the bonus getting unlocked unti Monday, June 9.

It's available to those who currently subscribe to Sky's Essential TV pack, with the upgrade offering full and instant access to Sky Ultimate TV bundle instead.

For those not in the know, the change adds extra channels such as Sky Max, Sky Crime, Sky Documentaries, U&Gold, and Comedy Central to TVs. Shows that can be found on these platforms include Matlock and The Rookie, Hacks, Rob Beckett's Smart TV, Boyzone No Matter What, Planet Weird and The Righteous Gemstone.
Explaining more, Sky said, in an email sent to Mirror Online: "From 6 – 9 June, Sky Essential TV customers can access Sky Ultimate TV at no extra cost.
"There's no action required, all Sky Essential TV customers will have access to Sky Ultimate TV and 35,000 shows over the rainy weekend."
Now you might be wondering what Sky gets out of giving away free channels. Well, we are guessing it hopes that the little taster will get Sky Essential TV users upgrading to Sky Ultimate TV for good. If you do tune in and fancy switching things up it will cost you an extra £7 per month.
It's certainly been a very busy week for Sky. Along with announcing this free content boost, the company has also revealed when its all-new Sky Glass Air telly is going on sale.
This screen will arrives in homes next week, and offer live and on-demand telly via your broadband so there's no need for a dish. It also comes packed with all the most popular streaming apps, features a 4K display and Dolby Audio for better sound.
There are three sizes to choose from (43', 55', and 65') plus three colours (Sea Green, Carbon Grey, and Cotton White) to suit your room.
It's not quite as impressive as the Sky Glass Gen 2 TV, but it's worth a look if you're on a budget.

Michelle Keegan rakes in a huge six figure sum while on maternity leave after welcoming first child

Michelle Keegan has raked in a huge six figure sum while on maternity leave, accounts showed on Friday. The actress and her husband, both 38, are thought to have a combined net worth of £20 million and welcomed their first child, a daughter name Palma in March. Despite taking some time away from work, Michelle has managed to increase her net worth by £441,082. According to Companies House her company Rosia Promotions is now worth a staggering £4,032,277. The company has £3,473,623 in cash and £610,370 in property. Elsewhere, the actress has reportedly signed a six-figure advertising deal to become the new face of Sky. The deal is Michelle's first major job since she gave birth to her daughter and she will film a series of promo clips with fellow British actor Idris Elba, who already appears as the 'face'. A source told The Sun: 'Michelle has really been enjoying maternity leave with Palma, but she'll be back to work soon to film these new adverts for Sky. ' Brassic is ending after the seventh series and Michelle is keen to still be a part of the Sky brand. 'Landing this ad is huge for Michelle, as she's fast becoming a brand in her own right. Everything she touches seems to turn to gold.' After leaving ITV soap Corrie in 2014, Michelle's career took off, with hits such as BBC military drama Our Girl, Sky's Brassic and BBC's Australian drama Ten Pound Poms. Last year, she had the starring role as Maya Stern in Netflix's Harlan Coben thriller Fool Me Once - which racked up more than 100 million views globally. Mark first appeared on TV in the reality show TOWIE in 2010 and continued making a name for himself in others such as I'm A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing, which led to him presenting American entertainment news programme EXTRA for three years. Although he's earned around £5 million for his TV work, and has £1 million endorsement deals with Littlewoods and Marks & Spencer, the bulk of his fortune has been made from investing in property via his company Chigwell Properties Ltd. He's now a Heart FM DJ, too. His Essex portfolio includes five rental properties worth £6.5 million, as well as the £3.5 million Epping Forest mansion he shares with wife Michelle and their baby Palma. Michelle and Mark have been enjoying their time as parents and have been sharing small glimpses of Palma on their social media accounts. It's believed the couple chose the name Palma because of their strong links to Mallorca, which has been their go-to holiday destination for years and the setting for their pregnancy reveal photoshoot.

Josh says: 'It's a hugely sensitive, empathic, hilarious and at times deeply emotional story.' ‌ Ladies In Black, U ‌ Plot: This stylish six-part Australian import is set in the 1960s and follows the lives of women working at a fictional department store in Sydney. A comedy with series topics, expect themes of heartbreak, grief, addiction and parenthood. Marian says: 'I love the scripts, they've really kept the spirit of the books.' ‌ Steve, Netflix ‌ Plot: Cillian Murphy stars in this intense feature-length drama that is based on a book that 'broke his heart'. He plays a headteacher at a college that aims to reform students, with the story taking place over 24 hours. As he and the students try to stop the school facing closure, Steve also struggles with his mental health. The plot also follows Shy, a troubled teenager who is on a self-destructive path. Cillian says: 'I love films that happen in real time, there's immediately an intense pressure on the characters.' A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, Sky Atlantic ‌ Novel: A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms novels by George R.R. Martin Plot: Game of Thrones fans, brace yourselves, the world of Westeros is expanding with this second prequel spin-off. Set 100 years before GoT and 100 years after House of the Dragon, this six-parter tells a gentler tale about Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). It's a lighter series, but author George teases: 'It's still Westeros, so no one is truly safe.'

Samsung and Apple fans snap up MacBooks and tablets from £5 a month

Tech lovers can spread the cost of the newest MacBook Air and Samsung's best tablet on the market on Sky For shoppers who want some of the latest tech but want to spread the cost, there are ways to ensure they stay up-to-date with the latest MacBook Air, Galaxy Tabs, and other devices without paying full price at once. We have been covering many Sky deals that allow shoppers to spread the cost, including some great deals that offer huge amounts of cashback. Prices start from £22 a month and drop to as low as £5 a month for certain tablets, making them perfect if paying for devices outright seems slightly out of reach. We've listed all the products Sky is offering so shoppers can be more informed about which products they can get. One thing to consider is that Sky contracts do have a large 36 to 48-month contract length, so make sure buyers consider that before they purchase. Here's a quick rundown of all the tech you can grab, by splitting the price into monthly payments. Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Sky launched its 'lowest price ever' on the Galaxy Tab A9+ plan. The device costs less than £200 to buy outright at retailers like Amazon, but not everyone will want to pay that much upfront. Amazon currently has it on sale for £160, but Sky's plan offers a decent alternative for splitting the cost into what feels like more affordable payments each month. The 11-inch screen tablet is being dished out on Sky for £5 a month, thanks to a new deal by the TV and broadband provider. There are alternatives to consider, however. Shoppers could spend a bit more on the Samsung Galaxy S9 FE for £449, complete with a free S Pen. Alternatively, for £17 a month, Apple fans can get the 11-inch iPad Air device with the new M3 chip. Shoppers have fallen in love with the tablet, with stellar reviews on Amazon and other retailers. One shopper said: "I bought this as a companion for my Pixel phone, mostly for watching movies at home while the kids monopolise the TV. I have noticed that while at home, I'm now doing most things on it as when connected to my phone it sends texts (WhatsApp and normal texts) and makes WhatsApp calls. But one shopper added: "I was not overly impressed with the display, and some video is not very 'bright', but overall the A9 is ok, and it is a Samsung, so I know the build is good quality." Apple MacBook Air with M4 chip Sky is offering the device at £22 per month. This 48-month contract includes the MacBook Air with Apple's fastest and latest chip and a storage capacity of 256 GB. It comes with the latest M4 chip promises smooth performance for all your needs, boasting up to 18 hours of battery life and built-in Apple Intelligence to help users accomplish tasks effortlessly. Customers have a choice of four stunning colours, including Sky Blue, Midnight and Silver. Shoppers want to hunt around for other deals, there are plenty of things to choose from. Argos currently has a special offer on this Acer Aspire i5 laptop for £549 for Windows fans. Meanwhile, Apple users can get a refurbished M2 MacBook Air from BackMarket for £731. Tech experts at the Daily Express reviewed the M4 MacBook Air earlier in March, and to say they were impressed would be an understatement- they awarded it a full five stars. However, tech editor David Snelling noted: "Yes, it's a bit of a shame that you only get two USB-C ports on one side of the device. Although it starts from a cheaper £999, it can get expensive if you start adding extras." Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra Sky is allowing shoppers who don't want to spend more than £1,000 at once on the newest Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra to spread the cost down to £30 a month, with £300 cashback to be claimed as well. Samsung has launched its Shine Bright campaign, which means shoppers who buy certain products can also get a big chunk of cash in their accounts. After buying certain products, Samsung fans just have to go here and claim their £300 cashback. If this Sky deal seems tempting, shoppers can buy the tablet here, then go to Samsung's promotional page here and log a claim. Although the claim window closes on June 24. Samsung is also offering £100 cashback on the Galaxy Watch Ultra, meaning this Amazon purchase will cost £399. Samsung is also handing out £200 cashback on the Galaxy S25 Ultra phone f rom Samsung here, including £200 trade-in credit on old phones. The team at the Daily Express reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S10 Ultra model right here and sung its praises. As David Snelling said: "Is the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra a brilliant tablet? 100% yes! But he did note: "No matter how good it is, that 14.6-inch panel is just too big for me, especially when travelling, and that's important as this is the time, like most people, when I use my tablet the most."
