Riot Games extends partnership with Red Bull for LEC and VCT EMEA through 2026
Riot Games has announced an extension to its partnership with Red Bull, ensuring the energy drink brand will continue as the official beverage of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA.
The renewed agreement ensures Red Bull's sponsorship of the LEC through the end of 2026, maintaining its presence in the competition.
As part of the deal, Red Bull retains the naming rights to "Baron Power Play" and will continue to provide beverages to Riot Games staff, players, and commentators at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin.
This marks Red Bull's sixth year of involvement in the LEC since its initial partnership in 2019, making it one of the league's longest-standing sponsors.
Similarly, Red Bull's partnership with VCT EMEA extends through 2026, during which it will remain the presenting partner of the "Clutch Moments" segment during the broadcast.
In addition to its broadcast presence, Red Bull plans to organize a series of VALORANT Community Championships throughout 2025 and 2026, with details of participating teams, locations, and formats to be revealed soon.
This extension also celebrates the fifth anniversary of Red Bull's partnership with VCT EMEA, following its first partnership with Riot Games' tactical shooter in July 2021.
The 2025 VCT EMEA season kicks off on March 26, with 12 teams competing for qualification to VCT Masters Toronto, the second Masters event of the year. Meanwhile, the 2025 LEC Spring Split begins on March 29, with 10 teams competing for two slots in the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

The club was founded by Red Bull in 2009 and is part of its international network of soccer clubs. It grants voting rights to far fewer people than most German clubs. The club added that it 'does not consider the regulator's reasoning to be convincing' and that it 'will examine the ruling and reserve all legal options.' Hans-Joachim Watzke, speaker of the league's executive board, said it stands behind 50-plus-1, which he called 'an elementary component of German soccer.' Why does 50-plus-1 matter? Fan control means outside investors can't buy up German clubs outright like they can in the English Premier League and other competitions. It's also one reason why Germany hasn't seen the sort of spending sprees and dramatic shifts in competitive balance which followed takeovers at clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, or Paris Saint-Germain in the past. Fan power is a force in German soccer outside of the boardroom, too. Following protests, the league abandoned plans to sell a stake in its media rights income last year. While the regulator's statement may eventually change how some top clubs are run, it could take a while. The regulator has been examining German men's soccer for around seven years now and has brought about limited changes before.

Former F1 Racer Warwick Suspended as Canadian GP Steward
Formula One's governing body suspended former racer Derek Warwick as Canadian Grand Prix steward on Friday for unauthorized media comments about current drivers. According to Reuters, the FIA did not specify what the 70-year-old Briton, who raced from 1981 to 1993, had said but media reports said Warwick had been quoted by a betting platform talking about the Spanish Grand Prix.
