UAE temperatures have reached a high of 50.5°C on Tuesday, June 17, the country's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.
It was recorded at 2.30pm local time in Sweihan, Al Ain.

UAE weather tomorrow: Summer to begin; fair to partly cloudy skies
The UAE will experience generally fair to partly cloudy skies on Saturday, June 21, marking the official start of summer 2025, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). On June 21, the summer solstice takes place in the UAE, according to the Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG). A summer solstice is "the moment when the sun reaches its highest and northernmost point in the sky", said Khadijah Al Hariri, Operations Manager at DAG. Humidity is expected to rise by night and into Sunday morning, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist forming over some coastal and inland areas. Temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 29°C in Abu Dhabi, 39°C and 31°C in Dubai, and 45°C and 33°C in Al Ain. Light to moderate winds, shifting from southwesterly to northwesterly, will blow at speeds ranging between 10 and 20 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 30 km/h. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea. The summer solstice is set to start at 06.42 UAE time and will last for three months until the autumnal equinox around September 23. UAE weather tomorrow: Temperatures to decrease; yellow alert issued for rough seas
There will be a decrease in temperatures in the UAE on Friday, June 20, according to the country's weather department. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the weather conditions will be fair in general and partly cloudy over some eastern areas. Conditions will get humid by night and Saturday morning with there is a probability of fog or mist formation over some northern areas. There will be light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10kmph and 25kmph, reaching 40kmph. The sea conditions will be moderate, becoming rough at times during daytime in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea. The NCM has issued a yellow alert for rough seas from 3.30am on Wednesday, June 18 till 2pm on Friday, June 20. It will be mostly sunny in the country and temperatures in Abu Dhabi are likely to see a high of 40°C and a low of 29°C, while in Dubai, it will be 40°C with a low of 30°C. Sharjah will witness a high of 39°C and a low of 29°C.
