Singapore travel soars sevenfold at Bahrain Airport in April

Bahrain International Airport recorded 808,793 passengers in April, as traffic to several destinations more than doubled compared to the same month last year.
The route to Singapore saw the steepest rise, with 11,476 passengers travelling there, up more than sevenfold from April 2024.
The United Arab Emirates, with Sharjah and Dubai combined, accounted for the highest volume at 125,094 passengers, a rise of 12 per cent. Doha followed with 44,703 passengers, up by 20 per cent. Bengaluru recorded 14,732 passengers, marking an increase of 108 per cent. Departing passengers numbered 398,294, while 409,646 arrived. A further 853 travelled through the airport as transit passengers.
Aircraft movements totalled 8,533. These included 4,266 departures and 4,267 arrivals. Another 42,509 aircraft passed through Bahraini airspace without landing.
Cargo volumes also rose. The airport handled 32,973 tonnes in total, including 13,337 tonnes of imports, 9,196 tonnes of exports and 10,440 tonnes in transit.
The data, published by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, showed steady growth across all sectors of air traffic.

'These MOUs reflect our strategy to connect Bahraini businesses with promising global markets,' said H.E. Nass. 'They represent opportunities for SMEs and key sectors looking to expand into new regions.' Supporting SMEs Khalid Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, said the agreements align with the Chamber's mission to unlock international investment opportunities. Board Member Ahmed Al Saloom added that the MOUs provide tangible benefits for small and medium enterprises. 'Strategic partnerships like these give our businesses real leverage to expand and innovate internationally,' he said. Global Presence The Chamber reaffirmed its support for Bahraini SMEs and its commitment to opening global market pathways in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. Officials noted that the private sector remains central to local development and that these agreements will further solidify Bahrain's economic presence on the global stage.

First Flight Carrying Stranded Bahrainis From Iran Expected To Arrive Today

The first evacuation flight carrying Bahraini citizens stranded in Iran is expected to arrive in the Kingdom today. The flight, operated by national carrier Gulf Air, is coming from Ashgabat International Airport in Turkmenistan and includes dozens of citizens who departed the Iranian city of Mashhad in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
