Samsung QLED TVs Earn "Real Quantum Dot Display" Certification from TÜV Rheinland

Samsung QLED TVs certified for compliance with international Quantum Dot display standards Certification underscores Samsung's commitment to display innovation and quality
SINGAPORE - Media OutReach Newswire - 29 May 2025 - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that its latest lineup of QLED TVs has received 'Real Quantum Dot Display' certification from TÜV Rheinland, an international certification organisation based in Germany. The certification verifies that Samsung's QLED TVs meet global standards for quantum dot display structures, reinforcing the company's technological leadership in the premium TV market.
Samsung
The certification confirms that Samsung QLED TVs comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62595-1-6 standard, which defines the application of quantum dot light converting units combined with blue light sources for standard QLED displays.
As part of the certification process, TÜV Rheinland analysed the light spectrum produced by Samsung QLED TVs and confirmed that it displayed clear separation between red, green, and blue—an important marker of colour accuracy. This distinction is enabled by quantum dots and may not be as pronounced in displays using alternative materials, which can sometimes cause colour mixing or reduced clarity. The results demonstrate how Samsung's use of quantum dots contributes to delivering vivid and precise colour expression.
With the latest certification, Samsung's QLED TVs are officially validated as true quantum dot displays, further differentiating Samsung's offerings and strengthening consumer trust in premium television technologies.
'This certification objectively validates that Samsung QLED TVs deliver true quantum dot performance built to international standards,' said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. 'We will continue to drive innovation and strengthen consumer trust as we lead the premium TV market.'
The series that have has received the aforementioned certification includes the Neo QLED 8K (QN990F, QN950F), Neo QLED 4K (QN90F, QN85F, QN80F, QN70F), and QLED 4K (Q8F, Q7F, Q6F) series.
Quantum dots are ultra-fine nanomaterials, tens of thousands of times smaller than a human hair, renowned for their ability to reproduce precise and vivid colours depending on light wavelength. The method by which quantum dots are integrated into display panels has become a key indicator for evaluating technological advancement in the premium TV segment.
Separately, Samsung's quantum dot technology has also been recognised by the global testing organisation, Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), for its excellence in cadmium-free design—an environmentally conscious approach that eliminates the use of cadmium, a toxic heavy metal known to pose risks to human health and the environment.

Take a good look at the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra 2025

TL;DR Veteran leaker Evan Blass has posted renders showing the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. The images show that all three models have a squircle-shaped case and a round screen. Samsung is expected to launch its new foldable phones next month at its Unpacked event, and we've just seen leaked Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE renders via a trusted source. Now, this same source has revealed leaked renders showing off Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch models. Veteran leaker Evan Blass has posted apparent renders showing the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. You can view the Galaxy Watch 8 renders below, showing what seems to be the 44mm model. The Watch 8 renders reveal a sleek design, featuring a circular screen atop a squircle-shaped smartwatch case. We can also see two buttons on the right-hand side of the case, which would be in line with the Galaxy Watch 7. The watch shown here is the black/gray variant, but we're guessing there are more color options. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic renders show a smartwatch with a more premium-looking design and an analog-style watch face. You can view the image below. Samsung's watch has a circular display atop a squircle-shaped case once again, but we can also see what appears to be a chunky rotating dial around the watch screen. We can also see two side keys as well as what appears to be an action button like the Ultra model. This watch is shown in silver/white, while small text on the back suggests we might be looking at a 46mm model. Samsung is also back with an Ultra watch, apparently dubbed the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). The renders below give a better idea of the design. The images show that Samsung is sticking with a very similar design, featuring the same fundamental case shape and round display as last year's Galaxy Watch Ultra. We've still got that orange action button here, along with two more side keys. It looks like this is a 47mm model based on the text on the back of the watch, but the low-resolution image makes it tough to definitively say so. We've already got an idea of what to expect from these new Galaxy Watch models thanks to the One UI 8 Watch software. Samsung's new software will offer features like bedtime guidance for sleep, a Vascular Load feature for stress measurement during sleep, a Running Coach feature, and an Antioxidant Index. However, Samsung has hinted that some watch features could go behind a paywall. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip 7 FE renders leak, showing bold colors and a huge cover screen

Evan Blass TL;DR Leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 show a nearly full-screen external display and three color variants: Blue Shadow, Coral Red, and Jet Black. The more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE appears almost identical to the Z Flip 6 with standard White and Black colors. Both devices are expected to launch at next month's rumored Galaxy Unpacked event, possibly powered by Exynos chips. Samsung is rumored to hold a Galaxy Unpacked next month, where it is expected to launch its next generation of foldables, wearables, and audio lineup. We've been hearing about these products for months now, and we've even seen renders of them before. Now, a prominent leaker has shared what appear to be finalized product renders for the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip FE, giving us our cleanest look yet at two of the upcoming foldables. Leaker Evan 'evleaks' Blass has shared these new Galaxy Z Flip 7 renders through their Leakmail substack: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 - Blue Shadow Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 - Coral Red Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 - Jet Black In the renders above, we see three colors for the Flip 7, namely Blue Shadow, Coral Red, and Jet Black. Curiously, this Jet Black hasn't been mentioned for the flip foldable in previous color leaks, so there's a chance it could be exclusive either to the US or to In these renders, we can see Samsung has finally moved on to an almost full-screen cover display with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. There don't appear to be other physical changes, though I love what Samsung is going for with the Blue Shadow color. Here are the renders shared for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE - White Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE - Black The Flip 7 FE looks much like the Galaxy Z Flip 6, especially in these simpler White and Black colors that were also present on the Flip 6. While foldable tech still feels futuristic, the cover display looks dated, especially since several competitors offer a larger cover display. Evan Blass has an excellent track record, but we still have to treat all leaks with skepticism until the company makes an official announcement. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to come with the Exynos 2500 SoC, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is expected to come with the Exynos 2400e SoC. We hope to learn more about these phones in the coming weeks. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
