
Saudi Arabia Participates in Bologna Book Fair 2025
Saudi Arabia is taking part in the Bologna International Book Fair 2025, running from March 31 to April 3 at the Bologna Fiere Exhibition Center in Italy, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is leading the Kingdom's participation in the Bologna Book Fair, inaugurating Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the prestigious event.
On this occasion, the CEO of the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, Abdullatif Al-Wasel, emphasized that Saudi Arabia's participation in the Bologna Book Fair 2025 aims to highlight several initiatives and programs that aim to advance the publishing industry and boost cultural engagement.
These initiatives include supporting the global presence of Saudi publishers and literary agents, showcasing Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage, and introducing the Kingdom's local literary output.
Furthermore, Al-Wasel noted that this international book fair provides a key platform for empowering the publishing sector, providing Saudi publishers with a unique opportunity to connect and exchange knowledge with counterparts from across the globe.
Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the Bologna International Book Fair 2025 sees the participation of various cultural organizations, including the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Fahd National Library, and the Publishing Association.

Saudi Culture Ministry Launches National Cultural Awards 2025
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture has launched the fifth edition of the National Cultural Awards to honor unique talents in the culture sector, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The ministry will open nominations for cultural sector awards soon to the public and the cultural community. Participants can submit their applications via the online platform and the evaluation team will review and select the winners. Interestingly, the 2025 edition will feature two new awards categories: the Handicrafts Award and the Cultural Media Award. In line with the Year of Handicrafts 2025, the new category will further support the handicrafts sector and encourage outstanding talents. Meanwhile, the second new category will honor the efforts of individuals and institutions for their pivotal efforts in promoting cultural media. Saudi Arabia displays cultural depth at Seoul, Beijing book fairs
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia, led by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, is taking part in the Seoul International Book Fair and the Beijing International Book Fair, both being held from June 18 to 22. The Kingdom inaugurated its pavilion at the Seoul International Book Fair 2025 on Wednesday at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in the South Korean capital, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Commission CEO Abdullatif Abdulaziz Al-Wasel said Saudi Arabia's participation reflects its growing presence in global cultural events. He said the initiative underscores the Kingdom's commitment to fostering partnerships with international publishing houses and building cultural bridges. The Saudi delegation includes representatives from the King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Fahd National Library, the Publishing Association, and local publishing houses, as well as the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, and Nashir publishing and distribution company. KSGAAL Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Washmi said the fair provides a platform for engaging with those interested in the Arabic language and culture. It also offers an opportunity to underscore Saudi Arabia's efforts to support the Arabic language and promote its use in academic and technical fields. The academy is presenting a selection of its latest publications and introducing visitors to its digital platforms and initiatives for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, compiling dictionaries, and developing linguistic resources to support Arabic digital content.
