A man has been stabbed on Braeside Road in Ayr.
A man has been airlifted to hospital after reportedly being stabbed on a quiet Scots residential street as police launch a probe.
Emergency crews raced to Braeside Road in Ayr at around 10am today (Tuesday June 17) after receiving a report of an injured man.

The Daily Record understands that the injury was caused in an early-morning stabbing.

An ambulance and an air ambulance with a trauma team were dispatched to the scene. The injured male was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Police Scotland are investigating the incident and note that enquiries are ongoing.
Chief Inspector Stuart Dougan said: 'Around 10am on Tuesday, 17 June, 2025, we were called to a report of a man found injured in the Braeside Road area of Ayr.
"He has been taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.'
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 10:02 to attend an incident on Braeside Road, Ayr.

"An ambulance and an air ambulance with a trauma team were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.'
We previously reported, in a separate incident, that the dad of a teenage boy who died at Irvine Beach paid tribute to his "best friend".

Kayden Moy, from East Kilbride, was found wounded at the Ayrshire beauty spot on the night of Saturday May 17. The 16-year-old was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital but passed away the following morning.
His devastated dad Paul Moy led heartbreaking tributes to the youngster.
He said: "My first born son, my big boy, my best friend, my main man, my everything., rest easy my boy."

His great-gran Helen Drummond added: "I can't believe our darling great grandson was taken from us. Rest in peace our darling Kayden. Forever in our hearts."
Family friend Karen Nelson said: " Heartbroken for the Moy family. RIP Kayden Moy, shine bright pal."

Another friend added: "Rest in paradise Kayden Moy. So sad."
Busby AFC, a youth football team which Kayden had played for, launched a fundraiser in his memory and shared a touching tribute to Kayden.
They wrote: "The Club was devastated to find out that Kayden Moy, a former youth player for Busby AFC, had sadly lost his life recently after being the victim of a knife attack. Kayden played in our youth set-up for several years and it has hit everyone hard.
"Kayden's grandfather is a long-term volunteer, player, coach and friend of the Club. He currently spends his weeknights and weekends coaching Kayden's younger brother who currently plays in our junior section too.
"We are aware that nothing will ever replace the life of an individual but we hope that this fundraising will help Kayden's family at this extremely difficult time."

'Teens are carrying larger weapons', warns Glasgow police chief

Glasgow Chief superintendent Emma Croft described the behaviour as 'challenging' for police but said overall, youth violence figures are down. The worrying trend comes after a number of alleged knife crime incidents involving young people. Kayden Moy, 16, died after a disturbance on Irvine beach last month, and in a separate incident, Amen Teklay, 15, died in Maryhill in March after sustaining serious injuries. Speaking at yesterday's Safe Glasgow Partnership meeting on crime statistics, Chief superintendent Croft said 'there is clearly a focus on youth related violence as a consequence of the incidents in Glasgow and Ayrshire over the last several months,' but she added that 'incidents of youth violence are still down over the five year average.' READ NEXT: 'Sense of excitement building' over Glasgow's George Square work The Greater Glasgow Divisional Commander added: 'What we are seeing, however, is a change of posture – potentially intent – with youths carrying unfortunately larger weapons motivated by social media and are travelling across Scotland to gather. 'This is a challenging picture for police to map and prevent. Our national violence work is therefore focused on the sharing of information of trends and locations. "The input of partners here is critical – in particular schools, educational and youth work and diversionary settings who my teams have been working with tirelessly.' Chief Superintendent Croft said work continues with partners including the 'Common Ground Programme, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, youth workers and many others to target areas where we see incidents of youth and related violence and disorder at the weekends.' READ NEXT: Plans approved to transform Admiral Pub site in Glasgow Last month, Police Scotland urged young people not to carry knives, following the death of Kayden Moy. Explaining prevention work taking place, Partnership superintendent Ryan McMurdo said school engagement officers work in 39 schools in the Glasgow area delivering programmes including the No Knives Better Lives and the Pitchin' In Programme to reduce youth crime. Other efforts include the Common Ground Youth Project in the city centre and the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, which has over 100 people involved. Figures presented to the Safe Glasgow Partnership showed overall violent crime has increased this year to date by 1.8 per cent compared to the previous year to date. A total of 12,060 violent crimes were recorded this year to date, compared to 11,844 for the previous year to date in the Glasgow city area. The meeting heard there is a reduction in serious assaults, homicides, attempted murders and robberies compared to the previous year to date. There has been an increase in common assaults.

Wendy Stewart also claimed there had been a 'lack of consistency and transparency' around the investigation. Since then the family have called in top lawyer Aamer Anwar to represent them and help them get the answers they need. Mr Anwar said: 'It's clear that Cole's mother has very deep concerns, and I hope very much that in the coming days or weeks that the police will leave no stone unturned in their investigation and respond to a grieving mother who has every right to answers, whatever they may be.' Cole, who went missing in early May, was found dead in a wooded area of Banknock on June 6. Despite a post-mortem, the cause of death remains unexplained - leaving his family desperate for answers as enquiries continue. I hope very much that in the coming days or weeks that the police will leave no stone unturned in their investigation and respond to a grieving mother Aamer Anwar A major search was launched to find Cole with specialist units, drones, divers and helicopters all called in. But sadly, his body was found in the woods in Banknock near Kilsyth Road. Cole's death is being treated as 'unexplained' and extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
