BJP MLA files complaint after row over Vande Bharat seat: Police
A dispute over a seat on the Bhopal-bound Vande Bharat Express between BJP MLA Rajeev Singh Parichha and a 50-year-old passenger escalated on Friday after purported photos and videos of the injured passenger surfaced on social media.
Police said the alleged incident happened on Thursday when Raj Prakash, a Bhopal resident, declined to exchange his seat with the MLA. It is alleged that the MLA's aides later assaulted Prakash, police said.
While Parichha has filed a police complaint, no complaint has been filed by Prakash so far. Parichha was not available for comment.

GP member murder: 3 more suspects held
Nagpur: Khaparkheda police, led by Kanhan SDPO Sudarshan Gaikwad, arrested three more suspects in connection with the murder of gram panchayat member Atul Patil, who was stabbed to death last week in Pipla Dak Bungalow. The arrest of Chetan Talmale, Rajat Wat, and Hitesh Dhage has taken the total number of arrests in the case to five. Police are intensifying efforts to uncover further evidence and potential accomplices, as the murder exposes fault lines in Pipla Dak Bungalow's political landscape.

Bengal: FIR against Sukanta over ‘derogatory' remark on Kolkata police
AN FIR has been filed against BJP state president and Union Minister of State Sukanta Majumdar for allegedly making derogatory remarks comparing the Kolkata Police's law and order situation to sex workers in Sonagachi, a red-light area in the city. The FIR was registered at Burtolla police station following a complaint lodged by a sex worker at Sonagachi, a police officer said. The allegation stems from an incident on Friday when Majumdar was detained by the police in Bhabanipur. During an argument, he purportedly said, 'You (police) have turned the law into a sex worker in Sonagachi!' The ruling Trinamool Congress condemned the comment as 'indecent and disrespectful,' with State Minister Shashi Panja demanding that Majumdar issue an apology. TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh also criticised Majumdar, saying, 'Sukanta made that comment because he doesn't understand the struggle of sex workers.' Majumdar, however, defended his words as targeting police performance, not individuals, and accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of stoking the controversy to 'divert attention' from her own allies' 'misconduct'. 'The women of Sonagachi also have respect. There are principles,' he said. Majumdar accused CM Banerjee of orchestrating the controversy to hinder him and to deflect attention from (TMC leader) 'Anubrata Mondal's wrongdoings.' In protest, Sonagachi sex workers and their children plan to demonstrate on Monday. In a statement, the women said, 'The sex workers of Sonagachi, along with their children, are scheduled to hold a protest gathering on Monday. Sonagachi is not a symbol of disorder. Aircraft tail snag briefly halts crash site clean-up
Ahmedabad: During the clearance of the Air India Flight 171 crash site in Ahmedabad on Sunday, the aircraft's tail section got lodged in a tree near the Anti-Corruption Bureau office (ACB) in Shahibaug Dafnala. The tail was part of the wreckage being transported in a truck to the airport for further examination as part of an ongoing probe, said V N Yadav, ACP, G Division. Police authorities blocked the road from Shahibaug Dafnala to Camp Hanuman Mandir to allow emergency teams to intervene. Shortly after, police personnel, along with a few locals, arrived at the scene and extricated the tail by trimming a few branches. The truck later resumed its journey, and the road was reopened for traffic. Commuters were not inconvenienced for long as the entire operation was conducted swiftly. No injuries or damage to property were reported. The wreckage will be kept in a hangar for investigation, which is being conducted by multiple national and international agencies. On June 12, the London-bound aircraft crashed in Meghaninagar shortly after take-off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport in the city, killing 241 passengers on board. tnn
