No. 1 ranked 2027 recruit Kendall Omoruyi commits to Nebraska volleyball
Nebraska volleyball landed its second 2027 commit late Monday. Middle blocker Kendall Omoruyi announced on social media her commitment to the Huskers. Malorie Boesiger, younger sister of current Husker Maisie Boesiger, announced her commitment to Nebraska early Monday.
Omoruyi is the No. 1-ranked recruit in the nation by PrepDig.com, making her the first No. 1-ranked recruit to commit to Nebraska under first-year head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.
"I am incredibly excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to play at the University of Nebraska!" Omoruyi said in her post. "First and foremost, I want to thank God for everything he has done for me and guiding me in the right path. I would like to thank my Mom for all of her support and sacrifices that she has made for me to be in this position."
Omoruyi is entering her junior year at Casteel High School after hitting .342 and recording 281 kills and 82 blocks in her sophomore season, averaging 2.7 kills per set and 0.8 blocks per set.
She played at Sunnyslope High School her freshman year, hitting .309 and averaging 2.3 kills per set and 1.1 blocks per set. The future Husker also thanked her coaches and teammates who helped her along the way.

The 6-foot-4, Gilbert, Arizona native also played for the U.S. junior national volleyball team this past summer and is in a pool of players who will have a chance to make a U.S. roster again this coming August.
She currently plays club volleyball with the Arizona Storm, the same club that housed current Husker Teraya Sigler, Kenna Cogill and former Husker Lauren Stivrins.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers' class of 2026 landed its sixth commitment on Friday evening. Tight end Luke Sorensen is the latest addition to the Husker football program. Sorensen is one of two four-star prospects in the 2026 class, along with offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth of Biloxi, MS. The four remaining prospects are all ranked as three-star commits.
