It's official: This is the world's highest urban microbrewery
Having a cold beer on a hot day is one of life's great pleasures. But having a cold beer on a hot day while looking over the scenery in one of the world's most photogenic cities? Even better.
That was the concept behind LeVel33, a Singaporean spot that was recently named the World's Highest Microbrewery in a Building by Guinness World Records.
The brand announced the news on its Instagram and Facebook pages on March 12.
'We see this as an important achievement for LeVeL33 as well as an opportunity to showcase the Singapore story of odds-defying innovation,' founder Martin Bem said in a statement.
One of those 'odds-defying innovations' was finding a location with enough room to brew beer in busy, densely-packed Singapore.
Located 33 floors up — hence the name — in Singapore's Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower, LeVel33 opened in 2010.
The brewing equipment was specially ordered from Europe, but most of the machines were too big to fit into the building's elevator. Eventually, the equipment — 12 tanks, two copper brewhouse kettles and a cooling machine — had to be brought up to the top floor by crane.
Bem's unorthodox plan worked. Now, being 33 floors up means patrons can enjoy views of famous buildings in the Singapore skyline like the Marina Bay Sands hotel (and its iconic rooftop swimming pool), the silver lotus-esque ArtScience Museum and the Singapore Flyer Ferris wheel. The bar can get packed around sunset time as happy hour revelers crowd in for drinks and photo ops.
LeVel33's beer menu has the usual list of styles, like an IPA and a stout, but one more distinctive brew is Brut Beer, made in partnership with Champagne company Barons de Rothschild. It's only available on-site.
From now on, the brand's mainstay Blond Lager will carry a label with the Guinness World Records logo on it.

Pakistan's shiny new $240 million Balochistan airport has got everything an aviation hub needs — other than passengers or planes. Here's how this situation came about.

Mom Sees Daughter Missing From Bed, Unprepared for Where She's Found—'Help'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A mom and dad had a moment of panic after going to check on their young daughter in her bed, only to find she was nowhere to be seen. Courtney Rey, from Lisbon in Portugal, took to her Instagram, @cbm, to share footage of the moment she and her husband discovered Romy, who was 2 at the time, missing from her bed. The video was filmed during a trip to Cape Town, South Africa, in December last year, when Rey was beginning the process of transitioning Romy from sleeping in a cot to sleeping in a bed. Rey told Newsweek she had been forced to begin the process at this particular point because Romy had "started crawling out of the crib." "The Airbnb hosts were kind enough to leave out both a crib and make up a queen bed in the same room, so we had both options during the transition time," Rey said. Parenting can be stressful at the best of times. In 2025 Cost of Care Report poll of 3,000 parents, 90 percent of respondents said they had lost sleep because of parenting stress, while the same proportion reported feeling burnt out. One of the biggest stresses Rey was facing as a parent happened after Romy was supposed to be sound asleep. In a somewhat apt development, switching over to a proper bed has seen Romy develop a habit of roaming around at night. "The temptation for Romy to escape her bed just because she physically can now often means we are hearing her door creak and having to walk her back to her bedroom multiple times a day for her nap or at night for bedtime," Rey said. It has led to some memorable days and nights, for good and bad reasons, like the one captured on camera during their Cape Town stay. That was the afternoon they went to check on Romy during her nap and realized she was nowhere to be found. "I saw on the monitor that she was not in the crib or bed, so ran in to check," Rey said. She added that her initial reaction after realizing Romy was missing was one of shock—but it didn't last. "First, there's a bit of fear," Rey said. "But we found her in the closet pretty quickly. The cupboard was open so it was pretty easy to spot her." Romy, in her half-asleep state, had chosen to climb inside a nearby closet with a duvet, creating a cozy spot for herself in the process and much to her mom's amusement. "Once I saw that she was safe in the cupboard, I thought it was the funniest thing ever and grabbed my phone and my husband," Rey said. Captioned "please help," the video went viral, much to Rey's surprise. "I just hope people get a laugh from it and realize that nothing is easy about being a parent, and being in it all together certainly makes it more manageable," she said. The good news is that Romy, who recently turned 3, has now fully graduated to a "big girl bed." "From Cape Town, we traveled on to Kenya where all of the beds have mosquito netting, and she loved this. It was such a great way to help with the transition as she felt secure below the netting and also like a princess," Rey said. Even so, Romy said she still likes to get in a crib every now and then. "If we travel, like to my parent's house and there's a crib, she does love to get back into it for old time's sake," Rey said. Just as long as Romy stays in there, of course.

Anna Camp Defends 18-Year Age Gap With Girlfriend
Celebrity age-gap relationships have been the talk of the town recently, but Anna Camp isn't interested in hearing your negative opinions on hers. Last week, Anna celebrated the premiere of her latest film Bride Hard at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, California, alongside her costars Rebel Wilson, Sherry Cola, Anna Chlumsky, Justin Hartley, and Gigi Zumbado. The 42-year-old actor attended the event with her 24-year-old girlfriend, celebrity stylist and writer, Jade Whipkey. This marked the couple's red carpet debut. The Pitch Perfect star confirmed her relationship with Jade back in March, after posting a photo of them together on her Instagram Story dressed for the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. When news of their red carpet moment began to hit news outlets, fans were not only surprised to find out that Anna was dating a woman, but also that there was an 18-year age gap between them. Pink News, an outlet that prides itself on delivering LGBTQ+ news, features, and opinion pieces, shared an Instagram post highlighting Anna and Jade hitting the red carpet together for the first time. It included a video of them at the event with a headline/caption that listed their ages. The comment section was filled with mixed opinions of those who disapproved of the age difference, and those who supported it: After noticing some of the backlash, Anna stepped into the comments to defend her relationship: "Thought I'd jump on here since I follow @pinknews," Anna wrote. "And just say I've dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them." "We have more in common than anyone else I've ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything." "Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I'm wishing everyone well :) Especially this Pride month." You can read her full statement below: What are your views on age gaps in general? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children will have no royal roles under Prince William's reign: insiders
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will have no royal roles once William ascends to the throne, according to insiders. The Prince of Wales, 43, has been planning his ascension to the throne since becoming heir following his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's death in Sept. 2022. The future king, who has long championed a leaner monarchy, is reportedly crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals. 5 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Prince Archie and Princess lilibet, will have no royal roles once William ascends to the throne, according to insiders. meghan/Instagram As a huge question mark looms over the Sussex camp's involvement in the monarchy once William becomes King, sources say that Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, will be outcasts to the royal fold under his reign. 'What has struck me the most recently is that he just doesn't mention it at all,' an insider told The Times of London of William's attitude toward his estranged brother, the Duke of Sussex, 40. 'It used to be that the family stuff was taking up a lot of space in his head, it was a very close relationship and he was very upset.' 'But he's not letting it get to him at all any more. It is a change. It's sad, but it's a much healthier space for him to be at,' the source added. 5 The Prince of Wales, 43, has been planning his ascension to the throne since becoming heir. WireImage The insider added that despite the 'anger' he once felt toward his brother following the release of 'Spare' in 2023, he is now 'indifferent' toward the rift. The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment. It's been widely reported that the Invictus Games founder wants his children to retain their HRH titles, allowing them the freedom to decide in the future whether to return to royal duties or continue building their lives in the US. 5 The future king, who has long championed a leaner monarchy, is reportedly crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals. Andrew Parsons / Kensington Palace Still, it appears as though the future king maintains a similar stance to some fellow Brits, who last month told The Post in exasperation that 'enough is enough' — and demanded that the Sussexes be stripped of their royal titles. According to the report, the same goes for scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, whom William sees as a 'risk' and 'threat' to the Firm. Both Charles and William are said to be keen to limit Andrew's public appearances with the rest of the royals. 5 According to the report, the same goes for scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, whom William sees as a 'risk' and 'threat' to the Firm. Getty Images When Andrew stepped down as a working royal shortly after his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein came to light, he was kept at arm's length by Charles and the rest of the Windsor clan. William has previously signaled that he is carving out his own path as the future monarch. 'I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation … I'm doing it with maybe a smaller 'r' in the royal, if you like,' he said last year during a four-day trip to Cape Town for the Earthshot awards. 'So it's more about impact, philanthropy, collaboration, convening and helping people. I'm also going to throw empathy in there as well because I really care about what I do.' 5 It's been widely reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want Archie and Lilibet to retain their HRH titles. Getty Images 'It helps impact people's lives and I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world,' the prince added. Experts believe William may be forced to reconsider his plans for a slimmed-down monarchy, given the absence of his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
