Kajol warns trolls against targeting daughter Nysa Devgan

Time of India3 days ago

Bollywood star Kajol is not only busy promoting her upcoming film Maa, set to release on June 27, but is also opening up about her personal life—especially the challenges her daughter Nysa Devgan faces as a star kid in the age of social media.
Protective mom
In a candid interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol addressed the online hate often directed at Nysa. Known for her fearless and outspoken personality, the Maa actress didn't hold back. 'Well, I would say don't come in front of my car; otherwise, I'll drive over you,' she said, expressing her fierce protectiveness.
Kajol explained that she often reminds her children that online trolls represent only a tiny fraction of the internet.
'It's just 1% or 0.1% of people who are talking like that. I don't even know if they're real,' she added.
Uplifting advice to Nysa
When asked how she helps Nysa cope with the criticism, Kajol offered advice grounded in optimism and perspective.
'You have to concentrate on the good,' she said. 'If you have a thousand comments, you will have 999 saying 'she is amazing', 'she is beautiful'. There's so much love, so many blessings they get.
Concentrate on that and don't think too much about these people.'
Her message serves as a powerful reminder in a time when social media can be both empowering and toxic—especially for celebrity children growing up under intense public scrutiny.

Nothing Says Ethnic Elegance Better Than Kajol's Bottle Green Saree

Kajol, at 50, is redefining the meaning of fashion. We have no complaints, as she is our go-to inspiration when there is a wardrobe crisis. Recently, the actress who will next be seen in the mythological horror Maa, attended an awards function and her sartorial selection left us taking notes (again). For the event, Kajol picked out a dark green saree that could borderline pass as a gown too. The elegant drape featured a full-sleeved blouse that fit her like a glove. It was a deep-scooped V-neckline number, coupled with backless detailing that screamed risque from a mile and a half away. But Kajol, being an expert in bold style statements, carried the fitted bodice with effortless grace. The pallu went across her shoulder, cascading dramatically, skimming the floor. The structured finish, void of any creases, underscored the impeccable tailoring. Metallic beadwork dotted along the borders added an extra dose of edge. They shone like orbs of liquid silver, contributing to the celestial shimmer. Even Kajol's petticoat was pleated flawlessly. We loved how she radiated chic sophistication in this ethnic spectacle. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kajol Devgan (@kajol) Kajol resorted to minimal accessories that perfectly suited the aesthetics of the day. She put on a pair of C-shaped chunky silver earcuffs. A few statement rings, embellished with emeralds and diamonds, sealed her jewellery game. Yes, she kept her neck bare by purposefully missing out on any heavy-duty choker. A pure and understated subtlety. On the makeup front, Kajol went with a dewy visage. No wonder her blemish-free skin elevated her allure a notch higher. Blush-dabbed cheeks created that rosy effect, while some contouring helped her achieve a natural bronzed glow. A few drops of highlighter were just the right beauty move, serving minimal glimmer. Kajol added a fiery depth to her gaze with a bold eyeliner stroke and an intense dash of kajal. Mascara-adorned lashes and glittery pink eyeshadow completed her glam deal. For the final touch, the actress tied her silky tresses into a pin-straight ponytail. Kajol's fashion diaries are worth gushing over. Agreed?

Dhvani Bhanushali on navigating her next sound and dreams: ‘I'm manifesting collab with Diljit Dosanjh'

As the music industry evolves rapidly with the influence of social media and digital algorithms, artists are constantly challenged to keep pace while staying authentic. For Dhvani Bhanushali, this balance is not just necessary, it's non-negotiable. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times on the occasion of World Music Day, Dhvani opened up about her creative process, the role of personal experience, and her aspirations for global music collaborations. Dhvani Bhanushali highlights the significance of authenticity in music, focusing on personal experiences over social media trends Instead of chasing virality, Dhvani finds inspiration in the everyday conversations, moments of joy, heartbreak, and observation. It's this emotional honesty that makes her music so widely relatable. While she acknowledges that platforms like Instagram offer endless ideas and trends, she cautions against losing oneself in the crowd. "We are constantly influenced by what we see and experience. Life experience is very important for making music. As you live life, themes and stories come to you. When you see Instagram, you see people exploring different things. But you also realise that sometimes, when you try and experiment too much, you forget who you truly are as an artist. I feel you should derive from your own experiences rather than what other people are doing. My algorithm will be defined by me and my audience," Dhvani said. For Dhvani, that 'algorithm' isn't about formulas or filters, it's about connection. What her listeners feel, what resonates in their lives, and what echoes her own emotions form the true foundation of her creative direction. The Pop Romance Era Dhvani's last number, Aankhon with OAFF, Savera, and Ankur Tewari, was a different soundscape from her usual numbers. "I think I got cooler with it. I have never done anything like this before. I wanted to talk about a situationship, and I think it resonated with my audience." Dhvani is now looking forward to putting out music all this year. "I am back to Afro soundscape, which I touched upon when I did Mera Yaar. My next is a proper club number. Now, I am diverging more into pop romance and moving away from the sad girl era. I am in a happy space. I would want to stick to pop, romance, the beats," Dhvani said. Eyes on the global stage Dhvani's vision isn't limited by borders. The singer is clear about her global ambitions and the artists who inspire her. 'I really want to work with Camila Cabello. I have been a fan of hers since the time I began. I love Post Malone.' These choices reflect a fusion of pop, soul, and versatility, very much like her own evolving sound. And while she's set her sights internationally, one collaboration hits closer to home. 'I am manifesting a collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh… I always tell him he is such an inspiration for so many artists, including me.' Having previously collaborated with Diljit on the massive hit Sauda Khara Khara in Good Newzz, Dhvani sees him as a role model—proof that Indian artists can break boundaries and cross cultures.
