Colleagues searched the aircraft when he went missing as they handed out food and drinks on the busy jet to London's Heathrow from the US.
The in-flight crew boss was then stunned to find him completely naked and jigging up and down in the Club World cabin loo.
He was bundled into a spare pair of pyjamas reserved for First Class passengers on the flight from San Francisco.
The steward was then escorted to the First Class cabin, where he was buckled into a luxury seat for the remainder of the ten-and-a-half hour journey.

BA bosses alerted cops, who met the double-decker Airbus A380-800 on landing at 11am last Sunday to arrest him.
He also received medical attention and was taken from the plane — which had around 470 passengers and crew on board — in a wheelchair.
Angry crew members had to work the entire flight without breaks to cover for him.
The steward was suspended from duty while investigations continue.

One worker said: 'We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working. It is an extraordinary thing to do.
"The plane was cruising at 37,000ft over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else.
The moment travellers are left stunned as woman tries to board a plane with 'no trousers on'
'Rather than asking passengers 'chicken or beef', he was stripping off and dancing in the toilet. It was a long time before he was located and he was completely out of it.
'Not only is it really dangerous, it is a crazy way to end your BA career. This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me.'

British Airways said it is a police matter. Scotland Yard was approached for comment.

BA crew ‘mistakenly booked into love hotel and kept awake by moaning'

A British Airways crew were forced to spend a layover night in an Italian sex hotel after a mix-up, it has been claimed. At least 12 members of staff were booked into the Motel in Milan, which offers a variety of themed suites including a BDSM dungeon-style room complete with a caged bed and a standing cross with wrist cuffs. 'There are no limits in this place, only the heat of pleasure, torments of passion, abandonment to desires,' reads a listing for a €280 (£240) per night room on the motel's website. It's thought the staff were supposed to stay at the Hotel, a regular 'vanilla' four-star hotel next door run by the same brand. The airline said some staff were 'moved to unapproved hotel rooms following availability issues with our usual accommodation provider'. It said this happened without the knowledge of company managers. An insider told The Sun the mix-up was down to a 'comical mistake by the hotel booking team', adding that it had 'serious implications'. 'Some of the team who stayed in the sex dungeon didn't get any sleep, so they couldn't operate on BA services the following day', the source told the newspaper. 'They were kept awake by thrillseekers moaning and groaning all day and night. 'There were adult workers outside propositing staff. Crew even reported suspicious fluids in their rooms which made their skin crawl.' It's understood there were no delays to the flight the affected crew were supposed to work on the following day. British Airways is 'urgently investigating to prevent a repeat', a spokesperson for the airline added. check our news page.

British Airways flight crew mistakenly booked into sex dungeon for layover

Twelve members of British Airways staff were booked into the wrong hotel in Milan by bosses and were met with bondage cages, human dog cages and leather harnesses A British flight crew who had a stopover in Italy were accidentally booked into a pay-by-the-hour seedy sex dungeon, complete with vagina-shaped spa baths and mirrored ceilings. Twelve members of British Airways staff were supposed to be booked into the Motel in Milan, but were instead checked into the nearby Hotel, also in the Italian city, by bosses. The crew turned up and were met with bondage cages, human dog cages and leather harnesses, instead of the normal clean sheets and hotel toiletries. ‌ The airline workers were reportedly stepped down from their next flight, having not had enough sleep, after putting up with moans and groans from other patrons of the establishment. They were allowed to rest in a more suitable hotel before returning to their scheduled flights. ‌ A source told the Sun: "It was a comical mistake by the hotel booking team, but had serious implications. Some of the team who stayed in the sex dungeon didn't get any sleep, so they couldn't operate on BA services the following day. They were kept awake by thrillseekers moaning and groaning all day and night. 'Staff reported constant noise, and witnessed 'drug deals and prostitution', as well as a '24-hour orgy. There were adult workers outside propositioning staff. Crew even reported suspicious fluids in their rooms which made their skin crawl.' A British Airline spokeswoman said: 'A small number of crew were moved to unapproved hotel rooms due to availability issues with our usual provider, without our knowledge. We are urgently investigating to prevent a repeat.'
