Puttaparthi: The inaugural session of the first-ever Sri Sathya Sai Global Mahila Conference was commenced in Puttaparthi on Friday.
The event themed 'Sri Sathya Sai Mahila Vibhag – The Visionaries of the Sai Mission,' witnessed the participation of thousands of women delegates from 18 countries, including India. The three-day global conference, being held from June 6 to 8 stands as a powerful testament to the indispensable role of women in the Sai Mission as preservers of culture, torchbearers of values, and harbingers of societal transformation.
The event aims to rejuvenate and reaffirm their selfless dedication to Bhagawan's path of love and service. The day's proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising divine grace and spiritual awakening. Senior members of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations (SSSSO) and the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) jointly inaugurated the session, showcasing unity and collective commitment to Swami's vision.
Neeta Khanna delivered the welcome address, providing a heartfelt reflection on the formation of the Sri Sathya Sai Mahila Vibhag, established by Bhagawan in 1969. She highlighted how Swami envisioned women's empowerment not in mere worldly terms, but through spiritual leadership, inner strength, and compassionate service.
The audience was then moved by a soulful and inspiring devotional performance titled 'Nari Shakti Sai Ne Jeena Sikhaya,' which invoked both spiritual emotion and collective energy in the hall.

1 2 Prayagraj: In a significant step to ensure sustained upkeep of Prayagraj's most iconic riverfront ghats—Dashashwamedh and Arail, the Sadguru Swami Teun Ram Maharaj, an international organisation of the Sindhi society, has come forward to adopt both ghats. After the organisation submitted a formal request, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar facilitated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving the Municipal Corporation, irrigation department and the organisation. With this, the management of the ghats will soon be handed over to the organisation. Dashashwamedh Ghat, located along the Ganga in Daraganj, and Arail Ghat, situated on the banks of Yamuna in Naini, were recently given a major facelift by the irrigation dept as part of preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh. The revamp included structural strengthening, beautification, and improved access for pilgrims. Under this initiative, the organisation will carry out further beautification of both sites at its own expense. Each ghat will see an initial investment of Rs 1 crore. Over a lakh devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu took holy dip in the sea and offered special prayers at Lord Subramaniya Swami Temple here as part of 'Vaikaasi Visaakam' celebrations on Monday. After the sanctum sanctorum was opened, the 'viswaroopa dharshan' was held, which was followed by 'udhayamarthanda abhishekam' at 6 a.m. Following 'abhishekam' and 'deepaaraadhanai', the golden car festival was held in which Swami Jayanthinathar reached 'vasantha mandapam' where other rituals were held. The celebrations ended as Swami reached the shrine again with Valli and Deivanai in the golden car. After taking holy dip in the sea, the devotees offered prayers in the temple. Special buses were operated from Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil to Tiruchendur in view of the festival. Led by Superintendent of Police Albert John, police had made comprehensive security arrangements and effected traffic diversions for ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic. Buoys had been deployed in the sea to prevent the devotees from moving to the deeper part of the sea. The district administration had declared local holiday in view of 'Vaikaasi Visaakam'. The festival was celebrated with fervour at Sri Suyambulinga Swami Temple in Uvari in Tirunelveli district. After taking dip in the sea, the devotees took the sand from the sea in palm leaf baskets and heaped it on the shore to fulfil their vow. Float festival was organised at Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari in the temple tank as part of 'Vaikaasi Visaakam' celebrations. Devotees in large number came to Thovaalai Chekkar Giri Subramaniya Swami Temple on the occasion.

Puttaparthi: The second day of Sri Sathya Sai Global Mahila Conference commenced with a spiritually uplifting morning session that celebrated the divine feminine through the themes of love, wisdom, and service. The morning proceedings featured inspiring addresses from two distinguished women speakers. Renowned Bharatanatyam artist and Bal Vikas Guru, Maya Shiva Kumar, opened the session by speaking about the profound spiritual significance of bearing the divine name. She emphasised that carrying the name of Bhagawan is not merely a privilege, but a sacred responsibility. The second keynote address came from Usha Srikanth, scientist at UR Rao Satellite Centre (ISRO) and alumna of the Anantapur Campus, SSSIHL. Drawing a powerful metaphor, she compared the human mind to soil that must be tilled and nurtured. Following these speeches, 12 eminent women devotees from various parts of the world were honored for their exceptional contributions to the Sri Sathya Sai Mission. Their lives, rooted in service and spirituality, stood as shining examples of the transformative impact of Sai values in action.
