Dolphins announce 2025 training camp dates, schedule
Mark your calendars for Training Camp! ⛺️🐬
Tickets are free and available now. See you there! 🎟️ — Miami Dolphins (@MiamiDolphins) June 17, 2025
The Miami Dolphins announced their Training Camp dates that will be open to the public via their team X.com account on Tuesday morning. The team will report back to Baptist Health Training Facility and hold 10 practices that will be open to the fans starting July, 26. August, 2 will be their 'Member's Day' which will be open to season ticket holders only. The open camp schedule will finish August, 21 with a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Dolphins will enter the fourth training camp under head coach Mike McDaniel and have several questions they will need to answer leading up to their season opener against the Indianapolis Colts on the road. Anytime from now up to the start of camp, the Dolphins are expected to deal cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and could add a veteran in free agency in the secondary. Miami will need to figure out the defensive back room, with open competition at cornerback as well as safety. Miami has also been rumored to be talking potential trade with tight end Jonnu Smith, but it's conceivable a deal could be reached before camp begins. The Smith situation is still said to be 'fluid' as his agent Drew Rosenhaus said.
Other stories for training camp will focus on an attempted change of culture and identity, a popular topic throughout organized team activities and minicamp. The Dolphins are in need of more and new leadership in a locker room that his skewing younger, in what could be a reset or transition year in South Florida. Miami's rookie class has several players who have been identified by coaches and veterans as potential leaders, praising work ethic and professionalism beyond their years.
Miami will also welcome back outside linebacker Bradley Chubb to training camp, who missed all of last season following a 2023 Week 17 knee injury. He looks to join another Dolphins' edge rusher on a comeback trail of his own again, in Jaelan Philips. The duo will look for their first game together since Week 12 of 2023. As a duo, they will also join with second-year linebacker Chop Robinson, making a soon-to-be debut as a trio.

ESPN's Windhorst: Rockets ‘definitely still in race' for Kevin Durant trade
The Miami Heat and Houston Rockets appear to be the only two NBA teams who are both on Kevin Durant's list of desired destinations and actively engaged with the Phoenix Suns to get such a deal done. And between those two, longtime league insider Brian Windhorst thinks it's Houston that could be the most compelling basketball fit. While the terms of a potential deal remain unknown, financial analysis from Rockets Wire suggests a package headlined by Jalen Green or a combination of Dillon Brooks and either Jabari Smith Jr. or Reed Sheppard as the most likely starting point. Advertisement Draft equity and further matching salaries would likely be a component, as well. Phoenix is reportedly underwhelmed by the current offer, though negotiations are ongoing. In a Wednesday appearance on ESPN's Get Up, Windhorst offered this update: I think he's got Miami on there because he's attracted by the city and Pat Riley. It's certainly not the team. So, let's put them aside. Let's look at Houston and San Antonio. He would be the No. 1 offensive option on those two teams. I don't know about best player, and I don't know if that's what he's looking for at age 37. But he certainly would join those two teams and make them way more dynamic offensively. Particularly Houston, who is an elite defensive team that had difficulty getting isolation and individual scoring. He certainly believes, by looking at those two teams, that he can be a very high-level member of a contending team. So, I'm going to listen to what he says there. That's why I think Houston especially has got their eyebrow up. I'm not sure they're willing to pay a massive price for a 37-year-old when most of the rest of their team is in its early-to-mid 20s, but I think Houston should definitely be considered still in this race. Especially if Minnesota doesn't close. Potential trade suitors not on that preferred-destination list (such as the Timberwolves, who Windhorst identified) are reportedly not bidding aggressively without a change in the All-Star forward's stance. Since Durant's current contract expires after next season, his choice to sign (or not sign) an extension carries significant weight in these talks, since many teams won't risk surrendering significant asset capital if they might lose him as an unrestricted free agent a year later. Advertisement With that in mind, it appears that could make the Rockets and Heat frontrunners for Durant's services, assuming the Suns remain committed to trading him. A deal is reportedly possible at any time. To Windhorst's point, Houston finished 52-30 and No. 2 in the Western Conference last season, while Miami went 37-45 in the East. Thus, from a purely short-term basketball perspective, the Rockets would seemingly give Durant a better opportunity to compete at the highest level over whatever remains of his prime NBA years. ESPN report suggests Miami is gaining momentum in Kevin Durant trade talks
The Miami Heat appear to be gaining steam as a potential trade destination for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. In turn, that could decrease the likelihood of a deal with the Houston Rockets. On Saturday night, ESPN's Shams Charania listed the Heat first among three teams that Durant would want a trade to and commit to long-term (joining the Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, who were the only teams previously reported). In all of Charania's other reports this week, Houston had been listed first among Durant suitors. Advertisement As part of a separate story also published late Saturday, The Athletic's Sam Amick, Kelly Iko, and Jon Krawczynski referred to a deal with the Rockets or Spurs as 'unlikely for now.' In both cases, Phoenix seemingly isn't receiving the desired trade return from Houston or San Antonio that it would want. While it's possible that any of these leaks could be for leverage purposes, the momentum seems to be in Miami's favor as the Durant talks enter what is believed to be their closing stages. If there's a silver lining for the Rockets, should they not land the 15-time NBA All-Star, it's that Miami is an Eastern Conference team. The Spurs or Minnesota Timberwolves — reported to be in the Durant discussions on Friday — would likely be a worse outcome than the Heat from a Houston perspective, since those are West rivals. Jake Fischer: Rockets might be Kevin Durant's top trade preference
Since last Saturday, it's been widely reported that the three preferred trade destinations for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant are the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs. Because the All-Star forward's current contract expires after next season, his choice to sign (or not sign) an extension carries significant weight in these talks, since many teams won't risk surrendering significant asset capital if they might lose him as an unrestricted free agent a year later. Advertisement But among those three teams, is there one in particular that Durant and his agency representation might push even harder for? Earlier this week, The Athletic's Sam Amick said it could be San Antonio, citing something the Timberwolves were allegedly told during their negotiations with the Suns (Minnesota is seemingly reluctant to bid aggressively unless Durant wants to be there). But Friday, in a Bleacher Report video, veteran NBA insider Jake Fischer (now of The Stein Line) indicated that it could be Houston that Durant most desires. 'They might be the spot that Kevin Durant wants the most, when all is said and done,' Fischer said as part of a 2025 mock draft. Should a Durant deal with the Rockets reach the finish line, Houston's No. 10 overall pick in Wednesday's first round could potentially be part of the trade. A Durant deal is reportedly possible at any time, with the upcoming draft a key date in the talks. Should Phoenix acquire a 2025 draft asset as part of the trade, finalizing a deal prior to the draft would allow the Suns to make such a selection for themselves, as opposed to having a player chosen for them by another team. Advertisement But as great as Durant is as a player, he turns 37 years old in September. Thus, Houston is reluctant to dip too deeply into its warchest of assets. That's led to an ongoing standoff in recent days, and the Rockets' hope is that perhaps Durant's leverage will ultimately win the day and force a deal on their terms.
