Nebraska football great eligible for Hall of Fame ballot
The National Football Foundation has announced the names under consideration for induction into the NFF College Football Hall of Fame, and a Nebraska football great has qualified for the ballot. Ndamukong Suh played at Nebraska from 2005 to 2009. His senior season, in 2009, is one of the legendary seasons in college football.
During that year, Suh played in 14 games and recorded 85 tackles, 20.5 for loss, and 12.0 sacks. He was a finalist for the 2009 Heisman trophy and was the first defensive player named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year. Suh was drafted second overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL draft. He's also played for Miami, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, and Philadelphia.
The 2026 Hall of Fame ballot includes 79 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 100 players and 35 coaches from the divisional ranks. The announcement of the 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2026, with specific details to be announced in the future.
The class will be officially inducted in Las Vegas on Dec. 8, 2026, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino.

Ian McLauchlan, Scotland and Lions great, dies at 83
Ian McLauchlan, the former Scotland captain and part of the successful British & Irish Lions tours to New Zealand and South Africa in 1971 and 1974, has died at the age of 83. The prop, who led his country 19 times in his 43 appearances, played his last Test against New Zealand at Murrayfield in November 1979. Weighing 14st 6lb (91.6kg) on his debut in 1969, McLauchlan earned the nickname 'Mighty Mouse'. Court rules Reggie Bush must pay Lloyd Lake $1.4 million in defamation lawsuit
On Friday, a judge ruled in favor of sports agent Lloyd Lake in a defamation lawsuit against former USC star running back Reggie Bush. Per the judge's ruling, Bush must pay Lake $1.4 million. Lake, of course, was the agent at the center of Bush's improper benefits scandal that lives in USC infamy. As a result of the scandal, the Trojans were handed a two-year postseason ban and lost 30 scholarships over the course of three seasons. Following the news, Los Angeles Times USC beat writer Ryan Kartje offered more details: 'Lake filed the suit against Bush back in February 2023 — along with his parents, Roy and Barbara Gunner — alleging that Bush publicly disparaged and defamed him during a podcast appearance and in social media posts and, as such, violated the non-disparagement clause they agreed upon in a previous settlement,' Kartje wrote. 'The comments, according to Lake and his parents' complaint, 'created a firestorm of vitriol' that saw the Gunner home vandalized with graffiti and left them fearing for their safety. 'The judge's decision this week came more than 15 years after the first explosive lawsuit between the two men was settled. That suit, which Lake first filed in 2007, claimed that he and another businessman, Michael Michaels, had provided Bush and his family with cash, a car, rent-free use of a house and other gifts while he played at USC in 2004 and 2005 with the expectation Bush would sign with Lake and his fledgling sports management company, New Era Sports & Entertainment. The first case was settled in April 2010, just before Bush and Michaels were scheduled to be deposed. But Lake's account of their arrangement, which violated NCAA rules, had already prompted a firestorm, one that ultimately ended in severe sanctions for USC's football program, the vacating of the Trojans' 2004 national title and the return of Bush's Heisman Trophy.' Somehow, there is still new news in this case more than 15 years after USC received its original NCAA sanctions, and nearly 20 years after Bush last suited up for the Trojans. USC fans are certainly hoping that this ruling can bring closure, and that all parties can finally put the scandal behind them.

The Georgia Bulldogs have one of the greatest running back histories in all of college football. Year in and year out the University of Georgia has a talented stable of running backs. This upcoming season is expected be no different. Most notably, Georgia running back Herschel Walker had one of greatest careers in college football history. He won the 1982 Heisman and won the 1980 national championship. Over the years, Georgia fans have been spoiled with the elite running back play, especially over in recent history years. In the 2010s, Kirby Smart and Mark Richt helped UGA produce four of the top 10 all-time leading rushers in school history. All of Georgia's all-time leading rushers come from the past 50 years. The Bulldogs have had so much talent come through the running backs room over the years that a Super Bowl MVP (Terrell Davis) and a Heisman Trophy winner (Frank Sinkwich) are not among Georgia's top 10 all-time leading rushers. Thomas Brown - (2,646 rushing yards) Brown never produced a 1,000 yard season at Georgia, but he was productive when healthy and was part of an impressive running back duo with Knowshon Moreno in 2007. Sony Michel (3,613 rushing yards) Sony Michel former the best running back duo in Georgia football history alongside Nick Chubb. The duo helped Georgia win an SEC title in 2017 and a Rose Bowl. Nick Chubb (4,769 rushing yards) Nick Chubb went on to have an outstanding NFL career primarily with the Cleveland Browns. He would've had a shot to break Herschel Walker's record if not for his unfortunate leg injury. Years: 2014-2017 1. Herschel Walker (5,259 rushing yards) It only took Herschel Walker three seasons to become Georgia's top rusher of all-time.
