The busy mum-of-three, who split from Paddy in 2022, has opened up about previous relationships she has had with women.
She also revealed how her family and her ex-husband have always been aware of her sexuality.
Speaking on the How To Fail podcast, Christine said: "It shouldn't matter somebody's gender. It never mattered to me, which was why once me and my ex-husband were separated and I met people, I didn't properly date
'It was more like blurred the lines of friendships for me, that was normal.
"It felt comfortable because I'd done that as a teenager and I, as a teenager, I dated both men and women.
"My ex-husband knew. My family knew. It was never a secret for me.'
When asked if she has a label for her sexuality, Christine said considers herself a "free spirit'.
Explaining more to the podcast host Elizabeth Day, she said: "I've thought about it. A lot of people always ask me, are you a lesbian? Are you bisexual? Are you what? Is this a phase?
"I've always been quite a free spirit. I think that's the only word I would put on it.
"When I was a teenager, I'd dated boys and girls. 14/15 was probably when I had my first kisses with, with both, and I never felt it was anything different or a big deal.
Christine McGuinness is dating women and men and will fly to Ibiza for hot same sex date
"Then I think where I grew up, everyone was kind of just there for a good time."
Asked about her past relationships with women, Christine revealed: "My longest was two years before I met my ex-husband and then I've had really, really lovely long situation shifts where we purposely haven't put a label on anything', she added.
"But my experiences with women have been lovely and It's not like women are better or worse.
"It's simply that the connection for me is different. I need a connection now. I need something different."

QUITTING CELEBS GO DATING
Last month, Christine shocked fans when she revealed she had quit Celebs Go Dating.
The star had jetted off to Ibiza, and had already started filming with fellow celebrities like Kerry Katona, when she walked away.
In a statement, Christine said: 'I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me.
'They've said the door is always open for me, which I'm so grateful for, but for now I'm returning home to my family.'
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson added: 'We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency.'
Celebs Go Dating's resident sexpert Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn spoke to The Sun after Christine's exit.
She told us: 'Her situation outside of the show is very complex so we will focus on helping her gain clarity about what she wants to do moving forward and build confidence in dating again.
'As a dating expert, I admire Christine for putting her wellbeing first.
'Opening up to love on such a public platform isn't easy, and it's incredibly brave to recognise when the timing isn't right.'
She added: 'The door remains open, and we'd welcome her back with open arms when the moment feels right for her.'
When Christine signed up for Celebs Go Dating earlier this year it was revealed she was "open to dating both men and women".

The Pride inclusive music festival is taking place across two days and JoJo was supposed to be headlining on Sunday June 29. But an announcement on Backlot Bash's official Instagram account today read: "Due to a scheduling conflict, JoJo Siwa will no longer be performing at Chicago's Back Lot Bash." No further information has been given by organisers and JoJo has not commented on the cancellation on her own social media accounts. In the lead up to this year's Back Lot Bash, the Bulletproof star had appeared as the main headshot on the event's promo flyers. On ticket website Do312 the festive had been billed as the '21st Annual Back Lot Bash with Jojo Siwa'. The news comes just days after Celebrity Big Brother star JoJo announced she was also postponing her American tour. The star had an 11-date run of gigs booked back home in the States in July. But during the week, JoJo - who has been practically inseparable with Chris Hughes since meeting him on CBB in April - dropped the bombshell. JoJo Siwa says she'll NEVER break up with Chris Hughes saying their relationship is 'earthquake proof' In a statement, the former Dance Moms star said: "I've got some news that breaks my heart to share... my US tour has to be postponed. "I promise I'll be back before you know it to perform for all the beautiful people in the US!... "Announcements will be coming soon, including some Europe shows!:). "Refunds will be issued at point of purchase." New direction JoJo is believed to be plotting to spend more time in the UK amid her blossoming romance with former Love Island star Chris. She has also reportedly been 'dropped by Columbia Records' after they signed JoJo just one year ago. Other stars on the record label's books include Adele, Beyoncé and Harry Styles. But the dancer is no longer listed on Columbia's website, where she was previously featured. The Sun previously contacted JoJo's rep for comment following the claims about her future with the record label. In a recent interview with Hits Radio, JoJo spoke about her new music and hinted that she was going it alone. JoJo admitted she choreographed and directed the music video for her current song Bulletproof and was turning over a new leaf with "more genuine" songs. 6 JoJo has postponed her 11-date US tour Credit: Getty 6 The star is smitten with her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes Credit: w8media

Loose Women's Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart have been in Portofino for their wedding anniversary after having travelled to the destination on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster looked loved-up on their trip abroad together this week. They have embarked on a tour of locations that are special to them as the couple celebrate the 18th anniversary of their wedding. Rod, 80, and Penny, 54, got married in Portofino on the coast of Italy in 2007, with the anniversary of their nuptials having been on Monday. The pair tied the knot at former monastery La Cervara and have now returned to the area. Loose Women panelist Penny has shared updates from the trip on Instagram this week. It included posting footage yesterday from a boat trip as she spotted the cliffside property where she married Rod from the water beneath it. Penny focused on the wedding venue in the clip and referenced the recent anniversary that she celebrated with her husband in the caption that accompanied it. She told her followers in the post: "Where we said I do 18 years ago." She's since shared photos from the holiday, including one of herself and Rod cosied up together whilst holding ice cream cones. The couple were seen smiling as they stood together. She used a sticker on the post today that read: "I love you." Another photo showed them sat at a restaurant sporting clothing protectors as they eat a meal. Penny teased in the caption: "Making a mess of ourselves". The post, uploaded this afternoon, included Dean Martin 's song That's Amore. Earlier today, Penny had shared a selfie of herself from the trip and included a sticker that read: "Good morning." Later, prior to posting the photos of herself and Rod together, she shared showcased some drinks and appetizers. It comes after the couple had announced the trip away together earlier this week. Penny and Rod, in a joint post shared on Thursday, had revealed that they would travel on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to the destination. Penny shared at the time that they were boarding the luxury train in France. She said that they would travel from Paris, which is where they got engaged in 2005, to Portofino, which is where they had got married two years later. The post included a photo of Penny and Rod posing outside one of the carriages. She was seen wearing a floral outfit on the platform, whilst her husband opted to board the train in a pink jacket, white shirt and matching trousers instead. Alongside the photo, Penny said it was a "magical" experience. She wrote: "Entering a bygone era @vsoetrain from Paris where we got engaged to Portofino where we got married 18 years ago, it's totally magical @sirrodstewart."
