Eagles Star Revealed Impactful Advice From Peyton Manning

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.
When the 2025 NFL season gets started, the Philadelphia Eagles understand they'll have a target on their backs. Being that they are entering the season as the most recent Super Bowl Champions, they know they are likely to get every team's best shot.
Dallas Goedert and several veterans on the roster don't want to get overly confident. While they know they have the talent to make a deep run and hoist the Lombardi trophy, the Eagles want to maintain their trademark underdog mindset.
The veteran tight end recently revealed the Eagles reached out to the legendary quarterback Peyton Manning to "pick his brain" on how to stay motivated throughout the year, knowing you're the champs. Manning offered a unique story about what he did in the past.
"He would make fake quotes and put them in the locker room because nobody was saying that they were bad or they beat them," Goedert said. "So he put, 'My receiver can't get off a press.' He would put that in his receiver's locker. [The receiver would say], 'Are you serious, he said that?!' It's just finding different ways to keep yourself motivated when the negative isn't coming at you."

Manning had a career that spanned from 1998 to 2015. He had stints with the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, winning a Super Bowl with each organization.

As a former first-overall pick, Manning entered the league with high expectations, and surely met them as he entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
While the Eagles might have to search to find bulletin board material to stay motivated this year, it won't take long to find what they are seeking. Since the Eagles made the run to accomplish their first Super Bowl in 2017-2018, they were famously considered underdogs, despite being the top seed in the NFC.
The Eagles might look a lot different since that underdog team, but they have reasons to carry the same mentality. Since the start of the Jalen Hurts era, the Eagles have struggled to be considered true contenders to the public. They used that as fuel this past season and ended the year on the highest note possible. Soon, we'll see if Manning's advice goes to good use.

Shanahan's Favorite Rapper Name-Drops Rival Coach on New Album

Shanahan's Favorite Rapper Name-Drops Rival Coach on New Album originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kyle Shanahan is a huge Lil Wayne fan. So much so, that the San Francisco 49ers head coach reportedly named his son Carter after the rapper, whose full name is Dwayne Carter Jr. Advertisement When Lil Wayne released his new album, Tha Carter VI, you bet Shanahan was excited to tune in. But he might've been blindsided by the record's second track, "Welcome to Tha Carter", where "Weezy" drops a line about a particular NFL coach. "Smokin' that bomb LA like I'm McVay." Shanahan goes way back with Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay, and the latter just picked up another edge on his buddy by getting name dropped in song. Not to mention by Shanahan's favorite artist. That's brutal. The rest of McVay's resume also includes another bullet point that Shanahan is desperately pursuing: a Super Bowl title. Advertisement In 2021, McVay's Rams defeated Shanahan's 49ers in the NFC Championship game to advance and play the Cincinnati Bengals in the big game. Los Angeles would win Super Bowl LVI in their home SoFi Stadium 23-20. If Shanahan needed any more motivation after last year's 6-11 record, this call out to his division rival should do the trick. The 49ers have all the weapons to return to contention as long as they stay healthy. Christian McCaffrey is poised to return with vengeance. Cornerstones Brock Purdy, Fred Warner and George Kittle are locked down long term. And once Brandon Aiyuk returns near mid-season, the arsenal will be fully loaded to make a deep run. If the 49ers can capture that elusive Super Bowl championship, maybe Lil Wayne will check the next thing off Shanahan's bucket list with a shoutout. Advertisement The NFC West rival Rams won't be a slouch, coming off a 10-7 season and playoff win. They also reinforced their receiving unit by adding Davante Adams. The 49ers and Rams will first meet in Week 5 on Thursday Night Football in LA. Grab your popcorn. And turn the speakers up. North Carolina Reacts to Bill Belichick Announcement

North Carolina Reacts to Bill Belichick Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's a lot of excitement surrounding the North Carolina Tar Heels, as head coach Bill Belichick is looking to come in and improve the program after it went 6-7 last year. He has not won a bowl game since 2019. Advertisement The expectations are high considering that during his time in the NFL, Belichick established himself as one of the greatest coaches in league history. Further, on Wednesday, he was named to ESPN's "NFL All Quarter Century team." It's certainly an impressive honor as the list comprises a total of 53 players and four coaches, all selected based on their production since 2000. It even drew a reaction from North Carolina, which commemorated the achievement with its own X post, captioned, "Congratulations to @Belichick_B on being selected as Head Coach of the @espn NFL All Quarter Century Team!" It's unsurprising to see Belichick chosen to represent the head coach spot, as he dominated in his 24 years with the New England Patriots (2000-2023), winning AP Coach of the Year three times. Advertisement During that time, he accumulated a 266-121 regular season record, went 30-12 in playoff matchups and helped guide the Patriots to nine Super Bowl appearances, winning six of them, which is the most for a head coach in NFL history. It also won't be the last time Belichick is recognized for his impact in the NFL, as he's eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, where he is likely to be a first-ballot selection.
