World Environment Day and 'A Tree for Mother' programme were organized at the PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 in the military cantonment in Belagavi on Thursday.
Students and parents participated in the 'A Tree for Mother' event. On this special occasion, the school community paid tribute to motherhood by bringing alive the sentiment of planting a sapling in the name of mother.
During the programme, 50 saplings were planted, with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and mothers alike.
Each sapling was dedicated to mother, making the event a deeply personal and lasting memory, said a release.
The objective of this initiative was to honor the nurturing spirit of mothers by planting a tree in their name, thereby contributing to a greener planet.
'Just as a mother gives life, protects and shapes the future of children, so too do trees sustain life,' principal Mahendra Kalra said.
'When emotions connect with nature, every action becomes a movement,' he said.
He encouraged everyone to take a pledge to care for these saplings and nurture them into mighty banyan trees.
