General Hospital star Kate Mansi weds Matt McInnis in surprise ceremony

Daily Mail03-06-2025

General Hospital star Kate Mansi married producer Matt McInnis in downtown LA on Saturday following an 11-month engagement.
The 37-year-old bride and the 41-year-old groom surprised their 115 guests, who believed they were attending a long-delayed engagement party, with a full-blown wedding at cathedral-turned-restaurant Redbird.
'We wanted that eruption of joy, that moment where love just takes over the room,' Kate (born Katharine Morris) told People on Tuesday.
'The element of discovery was everything. The relief when the secret was out was unforgettable.'
Mansi and McInnis even donned 'decoy' ensembles before she changing into her 'dream' Newhite wedding dress from LOHO Bride, and he changed into a custom suit from Malibu Clothes.
Ark actor Thomas Dekker officiated the couple's nuptials which were also attended by Fluxx actress Shelley Hennig, Home Improvement alum Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Wonder Years alum Alley Mills, and The Rookie's Britt Robertson.
It was Hennig who originally brought Kate and Matt together since they met at her birthday party 'a few years ago' before going Instagram official in 2023.
During the vows, Mansi revealed: 'We put a hand on our own hearts and said, "I got you," then did the same to each other. We invited our community to join us in that vow — to support us and each other.'
The Daytime Emmy winner added of their 'deeply personal' ceremony: 'The entire evening was meant to mirror our relationship - unexpected, full of humor, moving to its own rhythm, and rooted in deep connection.'
The Toronto-born Canadian stated that he's 'never met a braver human being than Katie.'
'She inspires me. She makes everyone around her better by nurturing qualities in them which even they may not see at first,' McInnis gushed.
'Her ability to love with her whole heart and wide eyes is the greatest gift a person could ever receive.'
The formerly long-distance pair added: 'Marriage to us is building [life] brick by brick with a partner who's truly all in.'
Kate and Matt are already proud parents to 20-month-old Doodle siblings, Stanley and Georgie, whom they adopted in November 2023.
McInnis is headed for London soon to begin producing a new project with Amazon MGM Studios.
Mansi is the fourth actress to portray Kristina Davis in ABC soap opera General Hospital, who's the troubled daughter of mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and attorney Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
The SoCal native previously played Abigail Deveraux in NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from 2011-2016.

Basketball influencer Rachel DeMita ousted from job over Caitlin Clark posts while covering rival league

Basketball influencer Rachel DeMita has reportedly left her role as a courtside reporter for the Big3 league just days after posting about Caitlin Clark during a game. DeMita, who is engaged to former NBA star Andre Roberson, shared some of Clark's highlights from the WNBA while working for its rival league on Saturday night. And according to Front Office Sports, the 35-year-old's promotion of Clark and the WNBA was the 'final straw' that led to her leaving Big3 - the three-on-three basketball league co-founded by rap icon Ice Cube in 2017. After sharing a clip of the Indiana Fever superstar making a deep three-pointer, she wrote on X: 'for those who questioned the hype.' DeMita, a former Old Dominion basketball player who has one million followers on Instagram, first joined Big3 in June 2024. She has been engaged to ex-Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Roberson, 33, since December 2024, roughly six years since they started dating. DeMita sharing highlights of Caitlin Clark from rival league the WNBA was the 'final straw' Judging by her Instagram posts, the social-media personality is also clearly a huge fan of Clark, who she watched in the flesh as recently as May 3. DeMita shared a photo of herself wearing the Fever sensation's No. 22 jersey at a game in Indiana that day, while including the caption: 'oh it's going to be a fun season'. Clark was at the center of fierce controversy earlier this week after she was brutally shoved to the floor during the Fever's win over the Connecticut Sun. When the Indiana superstar reacted angrily to being struck by Connecticut's Jacy Sheldon, the latter's teammate Marina Mabrey raced over and slammed her to the floor in a violent moment which sparked outrage online. Somehow Mabrey avoided an ejection from the game despite the shove being unprovoked, much to the dismay of WNBA fans. However, less than 24 hours later the league admitted referees were wrong to issue a technical foul to the Sun player. ESPN's Alexa Philippou revealed Wednesday that Mabrey's technical has been upgraded to a flagrant 2, which would have brought an ejection had it been dished out on the night. Clark's teammate and enforcer Sophie Cunningham was also fined separately for her foul with 46 seconds remaining in the game. As Sheldon came away with a steal in the final minute, Cunningham committed a blatant and hard foul of her own - wrapping her arms around the Sun guard's head and pulling her to the ground in an act of revenge after her foul on Clark. Another larger scuffle then ensued, with Connecticut's Lindsay Allen running over to defend her teammate and Sheldon popping straight up to shove the Fever player. Tensions took a while to die down and at the end of it, Cunningham, Sheldon, and Allen were all ejected.

Machine Gun Kelly has given an emotional insight into his relationship with ex Megan Fox after welcoming their daughter together. The 35-year-old musician, born Colson Baker, has been co-parenting daughter baby Saga Blade with his ex-fiancée after splitting over Thanksgiving - and had nothing but praise for the star during a chat on Friday's Today Show. 'Megan is a great mom,' he gushed about the actress, 39, with whom he was in an on-off relationship for four years just days after hinting at their rumored reconciliation. 'She's killing it. I'm so excited,' he said about the Transformers star's fourth baby, who is also his second but their first child together. On the morning show, he also opened up about the sentimental meaning behind their daughter's name. He explained that Saga's name represents him and Fox's journey of having a baby together. They previously experienced a pregnancy loss, and the pair hinted about the devastating experience. 'Coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,' he said this week about their daughter's name. 'She is an epic story. And that's what Saga means.' He added: 'I'm also of Norwegian heritage so that's the Nordic goddess of storytelling.' He also revealed what he hopes their daughter's profession will be in the future. 'I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her,' he said. MGK and Fox's whirlwind romance dates back to 2020 when they started dating on the set of the 2021 crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass. In late March, they welcomed their 'little celestial seed,' Saga. Over a year of dating, at the beginning of 2022, MGK proposed to Fox. In early 2023, however, the 'twin flames' briefly split before reconciling shortly thereafter. He added: 'I'm also of Norwegian heritage so that's the Nordic goddess of storytelling' He also performed on the morning show in Rockefeller Plaza, just shortly after dropping a hint this week that he seemingly rekindled his romance with Fox Later that same year, Fox revealed that they once suffered a miscarriage and made the heartbreaking confession in her poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. In February 2024, the singer also seemingly mentioned their loss in his song, 'dont let me go,' in which he sang: 'How can I live with the fact / That my hand wasn't on her stomach when we lost the baby.' In November 2024, Fox announced she was pregnant and expecting a rainbow baby' but they called it quits just a month later. Previously, the actress was married to actor Brian Austin Green for a decade. The exes, who were together for 16 years, are also parents to three sons: Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight.
