Outraged couple sues photographer who made incredible demand to guests at their wedding
A furious couple has accused their wedding photographer of having to ask guests 'how to take proper pictures' and insisted he bungled the pictures from their big day.
Patrick Brown, 46, and Cheryl Carley, 54, are suing New York photographer Michael Ivory for breach of contract.
The couple hired Ivory to photograph their wedding on November 12, 2023, as part of a $3,200 Wedding Package.
However, they were thoroughly disappointed when they received photos that were 'blurry, poorly composed, and missing key moments,' according to a copy of the lawsuit viewed by DailyMail.com.
'Throughout the event, [Ivory] appeared rushed and unfocused, requiring guidance from guests and [the couple] on how to take proper pictures,' the lawsuit said.
'[Ivory] failed to capture important aspects of the wedding, despite plaintiffs emphasizing their importance.'
Court documents stated that the Wedding Package included up to nine hours of shooting, unlimited photos, and up to 250 edited photos, noting that they explicitly requested two photographers for the event.
'On the day of the wedding, [Ivory] arrived alone, significantly impacting the coverage of the event,' the lawsuit said.
The filing stated that Ivory failed to capture 'traditional and customary moments of the wedding.'
Those moments included group photos with the bride, candid moments with guests and capturing the ambiance of the venue.
Once they received sample photos they claimed fell 'far below the professional quality promised and expected,' the couple also said they had difficulties viewing and selecting images because of 'prominent watermarks and reduced quality.'
The couple alleged that Ivory failed to offer any resolutions or alternatives. In December 2024, Ivory texted them that he would cease all communication and would process the photos within 10-12 months.
'[Ivory] misrepresented their ability to provide professional services and quality photos, as evidenced by the poor quality of the sample photos provided and its failure to deliver the promised services,' stated court filings.
When contacted by the couple's lawyer, Ivory's attorney claimed 'the bride was four hours late.'
'Mr. Ivory will expeditiously provide the photographs selected by your clients. No refund will be forthcoming. Mr. Ivory will vigorously defend his interests.'
The couple told The Independent they hired Ivory to photograph their big day because he had an impressive portfolio and was affordable.
'When we were seeking different vendors, we came across him and said, "Let's give this guy a try,"' Brown said.
'He was like, in the middle between the low tier and the high tier [price-wise]. He came across very charming, attentive, he showed initiative and follow-up: "Hey, let's do this, let's do that," all the right things that you want to hear. On-point.'
The couple then said they were forced to turn to their wedding guests to help them compile photos from the wedding.
'We had to rely on family members and guests to pull in all of their photos,' Brown said.
'If we would have known that they would have done a better job than this guy, we would have never hired him. Our guests' photos came out ten times better than his did. It's been very, very, very disappointing.'
The outraged groom said he felt he had no choice but the sue and get their money back.
'When we told him our concerns, he started to become very unresponsive, belligerent, disrespectful,' Brown said.

Anna Camp, 42, defends 18-year age gap with girlfriend, 24, just days after making red carpet debut
Anna Camp is defending her May-December relationship, after making her red carpet debut at the Bride Hard premiere with girlfriend Jade Whipkey, 24, last week. The 42-year-old actress is 18 years older than Whipkey, but she says the stylist is 'far more mature than any' man she's dated. Camp clapped back at critics under an Instagram post from LGBTQ + outlet PinkNews, writing, 'Thought I'd jump on here since I follow @pinknews and just say I've dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them.' She emphasized their compatibility as she continued, 'We have more in common than anyone else I've ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything ♥️ 'Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I'm wishing everyone well :) Especially this Pride month.' The lovebirds were first linked in May when Camp reposted an image originally uploaded on Whipke's Instagram account. The snap showed the True Blood star sitting at a restaurant with the text: 'Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing.' Camp reshared the picture to her Instagram Stories, tagging Jade, adding a fiery red heart emoji, and confirming their relationship. And on June 10, Whipkey celebrated Camp's Palm Springs Life magazine cover as she shared images of them cozied up at the launch party. The caption read, 'You are the easiest person to celebrate and the sweetest to love ❤️. See you on the cover of @voguemagazine next.' The last image in the carousel post was a photo of Jade wearing a tour T-shirt with several photos of her girlfriend splashed across it. On Sunday Anna took to Instagram Story to gush about her girlfriend while sharing a photo from their red carpet appearance. 'When her eyes match your dress,' she wrote, adding a pink heart emoji with an arrow going through it. Shortly after going public with their relationship in May, the pair was spotted sharing a kiss during a Los Angeles outing. And in February Camp and Whipkey made an appearance in a TikTok video for recalling some of the worst dates they've had. Camp was previously married to Michael Mosley from 2010 through 2013. Anna compared her marriage to Mosley as a 'one-night stand that lasted 7 years' during an episode of Penn Badgley's Podcrushed podcast. She also tied the knot with Skylar Astin in 2016; their divorce was finalized three years later.

Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman is released from hospital after overdose
Cher 's troubled son Elijah Blue Allman has been discharged from the hospital following his drug overdose one week ago. Allman, 48, whom the 79-year-old music icon shared with the late Gregg Allman, was released from a Southern California facility and is recovering at home, according to TMZ. reached out to Cher's reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back. The legendary performer's younger of two children 'was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after overdosing earlier Saturday morning,' TMZ reported on June 14. A San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokesman told 'On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at about 1:25 p.m., deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Cambria Avenue, in Landers, for a male subject acting erratically. 'When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel. Deputies located drugs inside the home and Allman was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.' It is unknown what drugs Allman was using, with an insider adding last week that he is 'very lucky to have survived.' It was said last week that Cher, full name Cherilyn Sarkisian, is focused on 'doing everything she can to get him the help he needs' and only concerned for her son's well-being. In 2014 Allman revealed he began using drugs, like weed and ecstasy, at just 11-years-old and detailed some close calls. 'I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that's when you turn to those kind of drugs, you know heroin and opiates,' he told ET at the time. He added, '[Heroin] kind of saved me … If I didn't have that at that point, I don't know what I would have done …You may jump off a bridge. If you can only just go through that time period and live through it and then get help.' Allman also recalled 'some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality.' 'I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that,' he explained. 'Even though you think that in your mind, of course the wrong things can happen. 'The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss. I knew it was wrong and I knew that I was very unsatisfied with life at that point.' In early 2024 a judge threw out Cher's bid to have Elijah placed in a conservatorship controlled by her. She had petitioned LA Superior Court to appoint her as Elijah's temporary conservator, arguing that his drug addiction, plus mental and physical health issues, made him unable to manage the $120,000 a year he gets from a trust fund set up for him by his late father, rock star Gregg Allman. Cher said she feared he would spend his $10,000 a month payouts on drugs, putting his life in jeopardy. Judge Jessica Uzcategui refused to appoint Cher as conservator, saying that the star's attorneys had not given Elijah enough notice of the court action and refused to share confidential information with him about his case. After the brief hearing, when asked how he felt about the result, Elijah just smiled and shook his head. Cher's attorney, Gabrielle Vidal, asked the judge to waive the usual five-day notice required to inform a person of a proposed conservatorship, arguing that 'absent a (conservatorship) order today' distribution of money to Elijah from his trust fund could put him 'in a life or death position.'
