Zain Zoheb, widely recognized as the youngest qawwali band in the subcontinent, is once again making waves on the global stage. The duo, best known for their collaboration on Thagyan from Coke Studio Season 14 featuring Quratul Ain Baloch, is now trending worldwide with their 2022 track Ranjheya Ve.
As of March 5, Ranjheya Ve has secured the 9th spot on Spotify's Viral 50 – Global list, further cementing its growing popularity. The song's music video has also garnered 9.7 million views on YouTube, adding to its impressive success.
Zain and Zohaib, grandsons of Ustad Haji Rehmat Ali Khan, who played the second harmonium for the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for over four decades, first gained prominence with Haiderium, an eight-minute qawwali from Nescafé Basement Season 5.
With Ranjheya Ve, they continue to explore mysticism, delving into themes of higher love and self-surrender, while blending traditional qawwali with modern elements, including guitar refrains by Balaj Hussain.
The song's visually striking music video, directed by Lahore-based photographer Saad Ayub Yratta, was filmed at one of the city's iconic heritage sites. The video features Fatima Amjed, Hassan Raza, and Hamza Khwaja, known for his role in the award-winning film Kamli.
Earlier this year, Zain Zoheb released their album Back to Live on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. However, Ranjheya Ve remains their biggest hit to date. In 2023, they contributed to the OST of Abdullahpur Ka Devdas, a popular Pakistani drama serial, and later collaborated with Indian musicians Amrita Kaur and Manna Singh for Guru Nanak Tu as part of Purab Mubarak Season 1, a project focused on promoting Guru Nanak's message of peace and unity.

Ethan Klein sues Denims, Frogan, and Kaceytron over copyright violation

YouTube creator and H3 Podcast co-host Ethan Klein is initiating a lawsuit against content creators Denims, Frogan, and Kaceytron, accusing them of copyright infringement tied to his recent "content nuke" video. Klein's legal filing alleges that the three streamers incorporated "substantial portions" of his original footage into reaction videos without sufficient commentary or transformative content—a practice he contends violates U.S. fair use standards. The suit claims their reaction streams were a deliberate attempt to redirect traffic and ad revenue away from Klein's original upload. According to the complaint, the defendants' "low-effort" approach—marked by sparse analysis or added value—fails to transform the original work, thus disqualifying it from fair use protection. Klein asserts that this strategy not only siphoned views but also diminished the potential monetization of his content. This decision reflects escalating disputes in the digital content space over what constitutes acceptable reaction material. Klein, who has previously defended fair use boundaries in high-profile lawsuits, appears to be setting a new benchmark for creators' control over derivative content. At this time, Denims, Frogan, and Kaceytron have not issued public responses to the allegations. Legal analysts predict the case may intensify broader debates around copyright enforcement and fair use in reaction videos—a format increasingly dominant on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. The outcome could shape future standards for what qualifies as transformative content and the rights of original creators in the digital era.

Cardi B debuts fiery new track Outside at Cannes

Cardi B made a bold splash at her debut performance in Cannes, premiering her fiery new single Outside during a Spotify-hosted event on the beach. The rapper, known for her unfiltered lyrics and commanding stage presence, delivered the song ahead of its official June 20 release, and it didn't take long for fans to start speculating that the track is aimed at her estranged husband, Offset. Produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki, Outside is packed with pointed lyrics that many believe target the Migos rapper. 'When I tell you these n—–s ain't shit, please believe me,' Cardi raps. 'They gon' f—k on anything, these n—–s way too easy / Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I'm convinced / Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a b—ch.' The speculation comes after weeks of Cardi posting cryptic (and not-so-cryptic) messages online about relationship drama and betrayal, fuelling rumours of a full-blown fallout with Offset. Though she hasn't confirmed the diss, the message in the lyrics is hard to miss. The cover art for her single, which Cardi teased on Instagram, features a vivid scene of a classic NYC summer day — a burst fire hydrant, red Solo cups, lipstick, dominoes, and blunt wrappers scattered across a sidewalk with a caption that said, 'We OUTSIDE this Friday'. In addition to debuting Outside, Cardi lit up the Cannes stage with a high-energy set featuring hits like Bodak Yellow, Money, I Like It, Up, and Bongos, her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. She closed the show with the fan-favourite WAP, marking her first performance in Cannes as nothing short of unforgettable.

Veo 3 set to be integrated with YouTube Shorts over the summer

Veo 3 set to be integrated with YouTube Shorts over the summer YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has announced Google will integrate its latest AI-powered video generation model, Veo 3, into YouTube Shorts later this summer. The tool will allow users to create short-form videos entirely from text prompts, significantly lowering the barrier to content creation. Mohan introduced the update during Cannes Lions 2025 event, describing Veo 3 as a means of empowering storytellers and democratising content production. 'The possibilities with AI are limitless,' Mohan said, noting that the feature could help 'anyone with a voice' reach an audience and build a brand. YouTube is plugging Veo 3 AI videos directly into Shorts — The Verge (@verge) June 18, 2025 Veo 3 marks a major evolution from Google's earlier Dream Screen initiative, which allowed users to generate backgrounds using AI. The new model goes further, producing complete videos — with both visuals and audio — from a few lines of written input. The update comes as more than a quarter of YouTube Partner Programme creators now earn income from Shorts. However, Veo 3's rollout has prompted debate over how the platform will balance innovation with content quality and creator sustainability. Critics have raised concerns over the increasing prevalence of AI-generated content, which some have dubbed 'AI slop.' These concerns include the potential for misinformation, declining originality, and the rise of deepfakes or low-quality spam that could crowd out human-made videos. In response, YouTube is developing a likeness protection tool in collaboration with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and content creators. The aim is to safeguard public figures from unauthorised replication via AI. For advertisers and brands, the integration offers a new way to produce targeted video campaigns without requiring costly production resources. However, the surge in automated content may also make it harder for individual campaigns to stand out. While Veo 3 expands access to video creation, it may also intensify competition for visibility on the platform. Traditional creators may feel squeezed as algorithmic systems prioritise AI-generated Shorts — or may choose to shift their efforts elsewhere. YouTube and Google Labs continue to refine the feature as part of the broader Gemini AI ecosystem, which includes experimental tools like Search Live and Gemini Live. Veo 3's inclusion in Shorts signals a wider push to bring generative AI into the hands of mainstream users. The company has yet to confirm a global release date beyond its initial US rollout.
