CRT FRSH, Hip-Hop Wired's playlist where we showcase music that we believe is 'Certified Fresh,' is back with the newness! With our latest update this week, we're gonna focus on Joey BadA$$ and his feud with what seems like the entire West Coast before sharing new heat.
I want to explain how I approach curating the CRT FRSH playlist. Most importantly, I don't segregate my Hip-Hop. Every form of music from the main cultural tree deserves a listen and a look. When I construct the playlist, I want to include all regions across the States and, when applicable, across the globe. I also want to entertain every fan of Hip-Hop, not just those who enjoy one segment of it. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's get to it.
The CRT FRSH playlist is a labor of love. We don't take payments, nor do we do favors. We only add joints to our playlist that fit the theme and vision we're going for and don't seek to waste the listener's time. Further, we don't stick to one lane of Hip-Hop. We believe that all aspects of the music should get some light, whether it's young lions in the trenches or those hoping for that one shot to blow up to grizzled veterans puffing out their chests with lots more to say. — D.L. Like I said, I'm opening up this week's update with all the joints I could find from Joey BadA$$, Ray Vaughn, Daylyt, and anyone else who hopped in the ring, including some of Badmon's Pro Era team like CJ Fly. Not every song is on DSPs, so what we've amassed here is all we got unless folks can clear samples and production to get it up on streamers.
I'm not picking any sides in the battle. I'm just enjoying good rapping, and that it's all being kept to recordings and not spilling into nonsense in real life. If rapping is a sport, then battling is one of the ways to show and prove one's mettle. One super impressive thing is that in the back and forth between coasts, folks are working quickly and addressing bars head-on instead of ducking from any smoke.
If I missed a joint you feel like should've been added, let me know and I'll adjust. This playlist is live for two weeks, so we'll probably have plenty of time to update this. And, from what I'm hearing online, there are over 90 songs recorded by several artists since Joey took the first swipe at the West Coast on his Conductor Williams-produced track, 'The Ruler's Back.'
I'm not going to break down every joint. Instead, check out the collection of songs we did find, search out the rest online, and just enjoy the collection of new heat I tacked on at the end of the disses.

Jack Schlossberg rants about Ryan Murphy show about uncle JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette- Kennedy: ‘Grotesque'
Former President John F. Kennedy's grandson Jack Schlossberg put TV super-producer Ryan Murphy on blast for the 'grotesque' new series on '90s it-couple John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. The histrionic-prone Kennedy scion expressed his outrage in an Instagram-rant Wednesday — blasting the showrunners of the upcoming 'American Love Story' for profiting off family tragedy. 4 President John Kennedy's grandson Jack Schlossberg expressed his woes with the Murphy-production about his uncle John Jr. in a rant on Instagram. Kennedy Jr. a great man,' Schlossberg, 32, said in the video, referencing the Murphy-produced show. 'For those wondering whether his family was ever consulted, or has anything to do with the new show being made about him, the answer is no. And there's not much we can do.' 'For the record, I think admiration for my Uncle John is great. Murphy, 59, who produced TV hits 'Glee' and 'American Horror Stories,' admitted he was taken aback by the negative reception the first-look received and fired back at critics in defense of the unknown actors. 'Carolyn Bessette is clearly a religious figure and it's a religion of her own,' Murphy told Variety, adding, 'It's very interesting that people become so inflammatory.' Murphy revealed that over one thousand actors auditioned for each role, with the production settling on 'perfect choices' Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Kelly. 4 John Kennedy Jr. died in a plane crash alongside Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy off the coast of Martha's Vineyard in 1999. Rock legend who lives in Sussex given knighthood
A rock legend who lives in Sussex has been given a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours. The Who frontman Sir Roger Daltrey said he is 'very humbled' to be made a knight bachelor in recognition of his services to charity and music. Sir Roger, who launched and curated the Teenage Cancer Trust's Royal Albert Hall concerts from 2000 to 2025, told the PA news agency he would be celebrating with 'a bottle of plonk'. The 81-year-old, who lives at Holmshurst Manor near Burwash in East Sussex, said: 'It's strange, it's an experience that I've never had before, I'm very humbled by it. 'But equally, pride isn't something you wear on the outside, you can't say you're proud of that, I'm not proud, it's something that you wear in your heart, and this sits very well in my heart, because it's for the charity, it is for the music and the music I've had the joy of giving it out there – how lucky was I?' Sir Roger said he was particularly pleased to be honoured for his charity work, which will see him remain an honorary patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, while The Cure frontman Robert Smith takes over the curation of his London concert series next year. He added: 'It's kind of weird, but I am deeply honoured to get this, especially for the charity for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and I accept it on their behalf really, because this honour is really for all unsung heroes.' Sir Roger continued: 'It's a dream come true for me, but it's especially a dream because the charity means so much.' The first Teenage Cancer Trust show by The Who And Friends at the Royal Albert Hall in 2000 raised more than £12 million in ticket sales and revenue from a concert film and CD, and as a result Sir Roger was given a humanitarian award in 2003 from Time magazine. With The Who, Sir Roger became known for his energetic performances, which saw him lasso his microphone around his head with its cable, while bandmates Pete Townshend, Keith Moon and John Entwistle smashed their equipment at the end of shows in a proto punk display of destruction. Asked whether he could have foreseen his knighthood during the band's early days, Sir Roger said: 'No, no, I mean, you've got to remember, we came from post-war England, I was born in an air raid. The band are widely acknowledged as the first mod band and went on to further success with their fourth album Tommy (1968), a rock opera about a 'deaf, dumb and blind' boy who becomes an expert pinball player, before becoming a god-like figure. Tommy spawned a number of theatrical adaptions, and in 1975, a film directed by Ken Russell starred Sir Roger in the lead role. This marked the start of an acting career which went on to see him play composer Franz Liszt in Lisztomania (1975), as well as appear in The Legacy (1978) and TV's The Bill. Having become known as one of the heaviest groups of the 1960s, and one of the first mainstream groups to utilise guitar feedback, The Who became one of the first British hard rock bands with the release of Who's Next (1971), which also saw them among the first such acts to use synthesisers. Who's Next included some of the band's best known tracks such as Baba O'Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again. In 1973, the band released a second rock opera in Quadrophenia, which was also adapted into a film in 1979, which starred Phil Daniels as main character Jimmy Cooper in an all-star cast that also included Sting as Ace Face, Ray Winstone as Kevin Herriot and Toyah Willcox as Monkey. The Who's original drummer Keith Moon died in 1978, while bass player John Entwistle died in 2002. While The Who were still active and during their time apart, Sir Roger has released a series of solo albums, beginning with Daltrey (1973), which peaked at number six in the UK albums chart. In 2018, Sir Roger published his autobiography Thanks A Lot Mr Kibblewhite. Kate Collins, chief executive of Teenage Cancer Trust, said: 'We're all delighted that Roger Daltrey has been awarded a much-deserved knighthood. Sir Roger is a tireless and passionate supporter of, and advocate for, young people with cancer in the UK and internationally.
