Kris Boyd on what happens after Rangers rows with Celtic hero Chris Sutton once Sky Sports cameras stop rolling
The pair have regularly sparred on air over the Glasgow giants - but things off screen appear to be very different
Kris Boyd insists that Celtic hero Chris Sutton knows how to exploit his "vulnerability" when the pair clash on Sky Sports.
But the Rangers fan favourite reckons he gives as good as he gets - with the duo remaining pals off screen despite the Glasgow divide separating their allegiances.
Last season the sparring between the two ranged from 'dead rubber' derby claims to promises of cuddles in car parks as temperatures boiled over in the Sky Sports studio.
But Boyd has revealed that the pair will often have a beer after the on-screen exchanges.
And he insists the back and forth only proves that the duo are not "bluffers" as they appear alongside James McFadden and host Eilidh Barbour for Scottish Premiership clashes.
He told the Sunday Post: "I believe there is a real good chemistry with everyone in the studio, up in the gantry and behind the scenes. Eilidh Barbour anchors it well.
" Chris Sutton is excellent at his job and isn't afraid to give his opinion. James McFadden is diligent, respected and likeable.
"Ian Crocker is one of the best in the business and has been leading Scottish football commentary for almost 30 years. Luke Shanley gets some great interviews.
"We all work really hard to do our jobs to the best of our ability. We are not bluffers. Nobody would last if they tried to cut corners.
"People might think it's easy but live television is far from a walk in the park.
"When managers aren't doing their jobs well enough you need to call them out and criticise. I know many of the guys but I will not try to cover up for them.
"That said, it's not easy to criticise. Some people just can't do it and I've seen pundits crumble when they are put on the spot and asked for an honest assessment of a player or manager.
"You also need to be ready to take on your fellow pundit. If any vulnerability is sensed, then it will be quickly pounced upon.
"I'll do it to Chris and he will do it to me. We have frank exchanges but we are always fine afterwards.
"We'll have a beer or two together. We get on well.*

Kyogo gets Celtic tongues wagging with love note as Strelec transfer trigger and Yamada address escalate striker hunt
Business is picking up at Parkhead with Callum Osmand and Bejamin Nygren set to check in Stade Rennes misfit Kyogo Furuhashi has beamed with pride over his time at Celtic with the club searching for a striker. It comes with his future at the Ligue 1 side in major doubt amid reports he could join Birmingham City. The Scottish champions are set to bring in Fulham talent Callum Osmand this summer - and the 19-year-old looks set to be given the chance to stake a first-team claim this summer. He will aim to provide competition for Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda next term - but the search for a frontman doesn't appear to have stopped with the prospect. The Japan international struggled to even make the matchday squad in the final weeks of the season - and has yet to find the net for his new club. Reports in France have suggest a move back to Celtic Park could be on the cards - but Birmingham City appear to be leading the race for the 30-year-old after their return to the English Championship. After making an appearance in front of the crowd at FC Gifu - his first professional team - he reflected on his time at Celtic stating to Japanese media:"I'm proud to have played in that environment.' The Parkhead fan favourite also hinted he may not be rushing for the Rennes exit - despite falling down the pecking order under Habib Beye. He said: 'I may not be as visible as a striker, but I think it's my role to lift up the others and work hard.' A replacement for the Parkhead fan favourite could be on the cards with the door open for David Strelec. He was was the subject of a £7.5m offer from the Hoops in January - with the Slovakian champions holding out for £9million. Strelec wrapped up the campaign with 25 goals to his name and hasn't been shy in opening the door to a Celtic switch. Director of football Robert Vittek admits that the club could be forced to sell this summer, telling Tvnoviny: "Of course, we won't resist if an offer comes that we will accept, but I'd rather not count on it." Celtic are also reportedly keen on Kawasaki Frontale frontman Shin Yamada this summer. But the 25-year-old refused to be drawn on the attention from Glasgow's east end - telling Sponichi:"Right now I want to do my best in the next game." Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn's price tag ‘revealed' after being scouted by Premier League giants who make him ‘next option'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NICOLAS KUHN'S future at Celtic has been a hot topic of conversation this summer. We told you last week that Kuhn's old side RB Leipzig were considering bringing him back to Germany. And now it's being reported that a Premier League side considers the 25-year-old an option for their right flank. We told you back in February that the English giants were in attendance for the first leg of Celts' Champions League play-off clash with Bayern Munich on a scouting mission. And a new report says that it was indeed Kuhn that they were there to watch, and that they've kept him on their shortlist all this time. The Newcastle Chronicle says Champions League outfit Newcastle are still tracking Kuhn. It's reported that Eddie Howe's side 'took a long hard look' at the forward in the winter. That included the Bayern match, as well as Scottish Premiership games. Kuhn thought he had bagged after just 25 seconds against the Bavarians, only for the offside flag to go up. He also struck in the second leg at the Allianz Arena, only for the Hoops to crash out at the hands of a last-minute Alphonso Davies goal. The Magpies are understood to have been put off of a chase for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga after being quoted too big a price for the Swede. What's holding up Nygren Plus Kuhn & Maeda price tags REVEALED Celtic transfer special So Kuhn is believed to have cropped up as an 'option' for the St James' Park men. A potential fee of £15million for a man who notched 21 goals and 15 assists last season seen as good value for money.
