Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani participated in the expanded meeting between the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on developments in Gaza, the Madrid Group, and a number of European countries, held in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday.
The meeting discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and the international efforts aimed at halting the war and ending the humanitarian suffering in the Strip. They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the high-level international conference for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, which will be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York in June, under the joint chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and France.

They also emphasised the importance of ending the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, opening all crossings immediately and unconditionally, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to meet the needs of the Strip's population.
The members of the Ministerial Committee condemned the repeated violations committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against civilians in the Gaza Strip, emphasising the importance of confronting all Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
The committee members also reiterated their support for early recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip, in accordance with the Arab reconstruction plan adopted at the Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo. They also reiterated their support for the international conference that Egypt intends to host in Cairo, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, on the reconstruction of the Strip.
The committee members commended the reforms launched by the Palestinian government, reiterating the committee's unwavering support for all measures that achieve the interests and aspirations of the fraternal Palestinian people and ensure their security, stability, and prosperity.

Agencies President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday extending TikTok's operations in the U.S. for another 90 days, granting his administration additional time to negotiate a deal to transfer the social media platform into American ownership. Trump disclosed the executive order on the Truth Social platform Thursday morning. 'As he has said many times, President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark. It is the third time Trump has extended the deadline. The second was in April, when White House officials believed they were nearing a deal to spin off TikTok into a new company with U.S. ownership that fell apart after China backed out following Trump's tariff announcement. It is not clear how many times Trump can – or will – keep extending the ban as the government continues to try to negotiate a deal for TikTok, which is owned by China's ByteDance. While there is no clear legal basis for the extensions, so far there have been no legal challenges to fight them. Trump has amassed more than 15 million followers on TikTok since he joined last year, and he has credited the trendsetting platform with helping him gain traction among young voters. He said in January that he has a 'warm spot for TikTok.' TikTok praised Trump for signing an extension Thursday. Jeremy Goldman, analyst at Emarketer, called TikTok's U.S situation a 'deadline purgatory.' The whole thing 'is starting to feel less like a ticking clock and more like a looped ringtone. This political Groundhog Day is starting to resemble the debt ceiling drama: a recurring threat with no real resolution.' That's not stopping TikTok from pushing forward with its platform, Forrester analyst Kelsey Chickering says. 'TikTok's behavior also indicates they're confident in their future, as they rolled out new AI video tools at Cannes this week,' Chickering notes. 'Smaller players, like Snap, will try to steal share during this 'uncertain time,' but they will not succeed because this next round for TikTok isn't uncertain at all.'
