Indian freestyle wrestlers collected five more gold medals and a silver at the Asian under-23 championships on Saturday (June 21, 2025). Nikhil (61kg) beat Kazakhstan's Merey Bazarbayev 7-2, Sujeet Kalkal (65kg) outclassed Uzbekistan's Umidjon Jalolov 10-0, Jaideep (74kg) got the better of another Uzbek Zafarbek Otakhonov 7-0, Chandermohan (79kg) defeated Turkmenistan's Alp Begenjov 5-2 and Sachin (92kg) beat Mongolia's Demchigdorj Tumurbaatar 5-2 in their respective summit clashes to claim the top honour. Jaspooran Singh (125kg) claimed silver. India finished atop team rankings in freestyle (six gold and a silver) and women's (four gold, five silver and a bronze) sections and ended up fourth in Greco Roman (one gold and two bronze).

FIH Pro League: Indian hockey teams face losses
The Indian women's hockey team's nightmarish run in the FIH Pro League extended with a 1-5 defeat against Belgium here on Saturday (June 21, 2025). It was the team's fifth consecutive defeat in a row at the European leg of the tournament. India took the lead through Deepika (sixth minute) before Belgium turned things around, pumping in five goals through Helene Brasseur (37th, 55th), Lucie Breyne (41st), Ambre Ballenghien (54th) and Charlotte Englebert (58th). Later, the Indian men's team, too, lost as it went down 3-6 to Belgium for a seventh defeat on the trot.
