‘Beer-proof parka' launched for Oasis fans to avoid a soaking at gigs this summer
Oasis fans will be drenched by a whopping 2,219,458 pints of beer this summer at the long-awaited reunion tour, enough to fill up a 25-metre swimming pool over one and a half times.
The research found that fans are expected to buy 8,667,600 pints during the Oasis reunion tour in the UK, with a quarter (25%) of those to be thrown in the air in celebration.
That means an equivalent of £16,587,187.61 worth of beer will be lost to enthusiastic fans at the Oasis sell-out gigs this year.
The results were uncovered by statisticians who pored over new original consumer research of 2,000 British adults to determine just how many pints are expected to be spilt in excitement at the iconic reunion this year.
To help protect fans from these celebratory beer spills, Radio X have launched a range of special 'beer-proof parkas' perfect for gig-goers this summer.
A pint thrown in the air in celebration is a staple of British summertime, often seen during World Cups, European championships and gigs. Radio X Drive presenter Johnny Vaughan 'dry-tested' the packable- parkas outside a London pub, ensuring they are set to withstand any incoming liquids.
Over three-quarters (77%) of fans polled said the Oasis reunion is one of the most exciting things to ever happen to them, with 37% saying the opportunity to see the band again would be just as, or more, memorable than their wedding day.
Definitely Maybe is the nation's favourite Oasis album, taking 41% of the vote. Although Oasis are only performing their former hits this summer, 88% of fans would love to see the Gallaghers make new music.
Not even the great British weather will put fans off, with 77% saying they'd watch Oasis perform come rain or shine. In fact, they'd be willing to stand in a downpour for an average of 9 hours just to see the Gallaghers reunite live.

The limited edition run of 250 beer-proof parkas from Radio X are on sale at the Radio X store for £28, with proceeds going to Radio X's charity Global's Make Some Noise.

Mike Lynch's sunken yacht glimpsed above surface ahead of being fully raised
Seven people died when the Bayesian sank off the coast of the Italian island on August 19, including billionaire Mr Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18. The 56-metre (184ft) yacht is set to be lifted to the surface near the fishing town of Porticello over the weekend before being taken to nearby Termini Imerese — where Italian prosecutors investigating the sinking are based. On Friday, parts of the accommodation areas above deck and the hull were seen above the surface as teams worked to install additional lifting straps before the yacht was lowered back under the waterline ahead of being fully raised at the weekend. Investigators in the UK and Italy say raising the vessel is crucial to fully understanding what happened. Last week, salvage teams expected the boat to be raised later in June, but thanks to 'accelerated progress', the timeline was brought forward. The yacht's 72-metre (236ft) mast was cut off on Tuesday using a remote-controlled tool and rested on the seabed to be picked up later. Over the last few days, salvage teams worked to ease the hull into an upright position and give access to the yacht's right side, which had previously been lying flat on the seabed 50 metres below the surface. The yacht is currently supported by strong steel straps attached to Hebo Lift 10 — one of Europe's most powerful sea cranes. If all goes to plan, sea water will be pumped out of the hull as the boat is raised to the surface before being carried to Termini Imerese on Monday, where it will be lifted onto a specially made steel cradle on the quayside. Marcus Cave of British firm TMC Marine, which is overseeing the salvage efforts, said: 'The salvage team has made very substantive progress in the last 10 days. 'They are now preparing for the final, complex and delicate lifting operation, to bring Bayesian to the surface and ultimately into port.' The vessel was originally expected to be raised last month but salvage efforts were delayed after a diver died during underwater work on May 9, prompting greater use of remote-controlled equipment. About 70 specialist personnel had been mobilised to the fishing village of Porticello from across Europe to work on the recovery operation, which began last month. Inquest proceedings in the UK are looking at the deaths of Mr Lynch and his daughter, as well as Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy Bloomer, 71, who were all British nationals. Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) investigators said in an interim report that the Bayesian was knocked over by 'extreme wind'. The yacht had a vulnerability to winds but the owner and crew would not have known, the report said. US lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo, and Canadian-Antiguan national Recaldo Thomas, who was working as a chef on the vessel, also died in the sinking. Fifteen people, including Mr Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued. Mr Lynch and his daughter were said to have lived in the vicinity of London and the Bloomers lived in Sevenoaks in Kent. The tycoon founded software giant Autonomy in 1996 and was cleared in June last year of carrying out a massive fraud over the sale of the firm to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2011. The boat trip was a celebration of his acquittal in the case in the US.

Sabrina Carpenter breaks album chart records with longest streak in top five
The Espresso singer, 26, beat the record with Short N' Sweet holding on to the top five album chart for 43 consecutive weeks. She surpasses Ed Sheeran who previously held the title with 42 weeks for his 2021 album =. This comes after the US pop star announced she will be releasing a new album called Man's Best Friend later in the summer. Meanwhile, Oasis have rejoined the top five with their hits collection Time Flies … 1994-2009 reaching number two on the UK albums chart as fans prepare for their highly anticipated Oasis Live '25 tour. The Britpop band, who split in 2009, confirmed their long-awaited reunion in August 2024 and will open the tour in July in Cardiff, followed by performances in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. The group will continue on with concerts scheduled around the world including Canada, the US, Mexico, Australia and Japan. Claiming the leader board for the first time is musician James Marriott with his album, Don't Tell The Dog. Speaking to Official Charts, Marriott said: 'Thank you so, so much for my first-ever Official Number 1 album. 'It's been such an amazing week travelling up and down the country, doing a little show. I'm just mind blown! Thank you so much for supporting me over the last week, and the last few years. This Number 1 Award goes out to all of you!' Marriott's album is also the biggest record of the past seven days on wax and became the most popular LP in UK independent record shops, topping both the Official Vinyl Albums chart and Record Store chart . He previously reached the top 20s with his 2023 debut album, Are We There Yet, reaching number 17 in the chart. The rest of the top five is made up of Ed Sheeran's Tour Collection, +–=÷×, which claims number four and followed by Pulp's More. Meanwhile, the singles charts is reclaimed by Alex Warren's Ordinary at number one, followed by Carpenter's recent single, Manchild. Ravyn Lenae's Love Me Not remained at number three, along with Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan at number four. Jumping up the singles chart is DJ and producer MK, also known as Marc Kinchen, with Chrystal for their song Dior which moved from number 17 to number five. Speaking to Official Charts, MK said: 'Thank you, UK. This is crazy! I didn't expect this at all, I appreciate it so much!'
