In a landmark move to promote digital literacy and future-ready skills, Binance Academy has partnered with Pakistan's Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to roll out a nationwide blockchain education initiative. The programme is set to train 300 university educators and reach over 80,000 students across 20 institutions by 2026.
The collaboration falls under Binance's Global University Outreach Program (GUOP), the world's largest blockchain education drive, aiming to cultivate a new generation of Web3 professionals. The initiative aligns with Pakistan's national digital transformation goals, positioning the country as a growing hub of blockchain expertise.
Under the agreement, university educators will undergo intensive training in blockchain fundamentals, including BNB Chain, Solidity programming, and essential Web3 concepts. Upon certification, they will independently teach the newly developed curriculum. Students completing the courses will also receive official accreditation.
'As blockchain reshapes the global financial landscape, empowering people with the right skills is essential,' said Bader Al Kalooti, Head of Growth and Operations for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia at Binance. 'This partnership marks a significant step toward building a knowledgeable workforce ready to drive digital innovation.'
Welcoming the initiative, Minister of IT and Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, noted its potential impact on Pakistan's long-term economic trajectory.
'This partnership contributes to our digital transformation by positioning Pakistan as a global source of skilled blockchain talent,' she said. 'By collaborating with Binance and the Blockchain & AI Technology Center, we are equipping our students to lead in the digital economy.'
Binance Academy has been active in Pakistan since 2022, having already trained over 3,000 students across 13 universities in three provinces. The new programme expands that effort on a national scale, leveraging past success to deliver widespread access to cutting-edge technology education.
Globally, the GUOP began in Kazakhstan in 2023 and has since expanded to over 20 countries. Its broader target is to impact more than 200 universities across 50 countries, reaching one million students by 2026.
The Binance Academy–MoITT partnership represents a significant step in embedding blockchain education into Pakistan's academic framework. By focusing on practical skills and global competitiveness, the initiative is expected to foster a generation of innovators prepared to lead in the digital economy — both locally and internationally.

She underlined that a future-ready human resource is the key component for achievement of this target. Khawaja reiterated the government's commitment to facilitating the academia, industry and all relevant stakeholders in removing the hurdles blocking the employability of computing graduates. The minister was addressing a national conference titled, 'Zero-Day Employability of Computing Graduates' organised by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan in collaboration with MoIT&T and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) on Thursday. Chairman HEC Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Secretary MoIT&T Zarraz Hasham Khan, vice chancellors of a large number of universities, faculty members, and IT industry representatives attended the conference. He said that the curriculum is based 80 percent on hands-on skills. He hoped that it will open up a window for employability of graduates. The chairman highlighted that Pakistani youth have been achieving huge success in the Huawei Imagine Cup competitions. He said the country's youth has a great potential in all the areas including technology. He added that the Pakistani university graduates and the HEC scholarship recipients are playing their appreciable role in taking up Pakistan in the technological sphere. Secretary MoIT&T Zarrar Hashim Khan shared a detailed presentation on the National IT Roadmap drafted in consultation and deliberations with stakeholders. He pointed out the key challenges in the IT industry triggering low exports such as systemic and structural issues, educational and skill development issues, and workplace and industry dynamics. 'If we do not address them structurally, we will lag behind,' he emphasised. He also presented recommendations to put in action for sectoral growth, including having a standardized testing mechanism, skill-based certification courses integrated with curricula, and work with industry by final year students. He stressed the need for academic and workforce readiness and strong collaboration between the IT industry and academics to address employability gap. Pakistan's commitment to digital assets, economic innovation: meeting held
ISLAMABAD: In a bold demonstration of Pakistan's commitment to digital assets and economic innovation, Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Crypto and Blockchain Bilal Bin Saqib and Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) — the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday. The discussion focused on how Bitcoin can serve as a tool for sovereign reserves, monetary resilience, and driving Pakistan's long-term digital economic transformation. Pakistan Crypto Council reviews progress on digital assets regulatory framework Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Aurangzeb said that Pakistan aspires to lead the Global South in the development and adoption of digital assets, setting a benchmark for innovation, regulation, and inclusive growth in the digital economy. Speaking on the occasion Minister of State for Crypto and Blockchain Bilal Bin Saqib said that Pakistan has taken a historic step forward for strengthening the digital economy. 'Michael Saylor's insights and leadership have shaped how the world views Bitcoin as a sovereign-grade asset. In 5 years Mr Saylor transformed a mid-sized software firm into a $100+ billion company, purely through strategic vision, bold conviction, and disciplined execution. If private individuals can build that in the U.S.—why can't Pakistan, as a nation, do the same? We have the talent, the story, and the energy,' he added. Meanwhile during the meeting, Saylor praised Pakistan's efforts to take a forward-looking, innovation-friendly stance in the global digital economy and welcomed the opportunity to advise and support ongoing developments. 'Pakistan has many brilliant people. It also has commitment and clarity needed by businesses globally,' he added. Bitcoin is the strongest asset for long-term national resilience, he said, adding that emerging markets like Pakistan have a once-in-a generation opportunity to leapfrog into the future of finance. This strategic dialogue marks another milestone in Pakistan's effort to build a robust digital assets policy framework, attract global institutional interest, and position itself as a Web3 and Bitcoin-ready emerging market. Michael Saylor — whose Bitcoin thesis has shaped conversations at the White House, Capitol Hill, and leading US think tanks — has emerged as one of the most influential voices in global monetary strategy. His advocacy echoes the Trump-era vision of economic sovereignty, decentralization of financial power, and investment in long-term national strength through hard digital assets. Saylor's success story is unmatched. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in Bitcoin's institutional adoption. Under his leadership, strategy transformed from a traditional enterprise software firm into the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin in the world. Since initiating its Bitcoin strategy in 2020, the company has acquired approximately 582,000 BTC, valued at over $62 billion as of June 2025. This aggressive accumulation strategy has driven strategy's market capitalization from $1.2 billion to over $105 billion, making it one of the top-performing tech stocks of the decade.
