Sweet success means Easy Peeler unlikely to make quick return

John and Sean Quinn's filly has yet to finish out of the first three in her career and seems to still be improving.
Having seen off Lady Of Andros to win the class two handicap, attention swiftly turned to the valuable Churchill Tyres Supporting Macmillan Sprint Handicap for which she is declared.
However, Sean Quinn feels she might have done enough for the week.
He said: 'My gut feeling is she's won a big race, it's a very warm day and she got warm before the race so she's expended a lot of energy.

'She's a filly we like, so I don't think we need to come again tomorrow because we don't really need to. She's won a good race there.
'She's progressing nicely. She's running in some nice handicaps at the moment, but she was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud who have Havana Grey and they've leased her to Hot To Trot (owning syndicate), so she'll end up back there as a broodmare and they'd love to get black type. That's a little way from our minds at the moment.'
David Egan was predicting a bright future for India Love (13-2) after the George Boughey-trained filly made a winning debut in the Juddmonte EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes.
The more experienced Bleep Test made a bold bid from the front but despite racing keenly early on, India Love still had enough left to win by a neck.
'She's been keen at home and shown plenty of enthusiasm so cover was the plan today and I'm glad we got it. I think it's just a case of she's very, very quick,' said Egan.
'She'll get faster with that run and even though she was on it early on, she was very well behaved in the prelims which is half the battle.
'In a stronger race they'll go even fast. She's a nice filly. For a Havana Grey she was very well bought for £55,000 guineas and she'd done everything right at home.'
Andrea Pinna rode his first York winner when bringing Feel The Need with a sustained run down the outside in the Andy Thornton Hospitality Furniture 50th Anniversary Apprentice Handicap.
Having just his second ride on the Knavesmire, Pinna, who rides primarily for Kevin Frost, had been booked by Michael Herrington for the five-year-old.
The 13-2 chance just got the better of course specialist Tolstoy to win by a neck.
'I saw the favourite edging closer so I just followed him and if the ground was a bit softer he would have won easier,' said Pinna.
'I wanted to drop in and see if a couple of gaps opened up, but I couldn't see any so I just stayed on that line and he galloped on strong.
'He likes this track and soft ground suits him better.'

Reo Hatate in Celtic transfer exit rethink as Lennon Miller to Parkhead ship may have sailed

1) Russell Martin gets down to work on Monday as his Rangers squad return for pre-season prep - how many new recruits will he need in to get past Panathinaikos? KEITH JACKSON: Max Aarons is a decent start but Martin needs so much more than just a right back. Two central defenders will be needed as well as a left back, a couple of wingers and at least one striker. If Nico Raskin and/or Mohamed Diomande move on this summer then he'll need to rebuild his midfield too. ANDY NEWPORT: Max Aarons is set to follow Lyall Cameron through the door but Rangers need at least another three in to be anywhere near comfortable of their chances against the Greeks. A centre-back, if not two, will be needed. As will another midfield playmaking option and someone to replace Vaclav Cerny out wide. That shopping list will grow if Cyriel Dessers departs. SCOTT BURNS: You would like to think he would get, at least three or four in the door, before the Champions League qualifiers. According to his dad Lee, Lennon Miller has his heart set on a move abroad - but should one of our big two be pushing the boat out to convince him to stay? KEITH: It feels like that ship may have sailed already. Celtic have been keeping a close eye on developments but if Miller has made his mind up on moving overseas then there's nothing much the champions can do about it. ANDY: Celtic and Brendan Rodgers have been in this movie before with John McGinn. I'm sure Lennon can be convinced to stay if he is assured of the minutes he needs to continue his development. The Hoops just need to come up with the right pitch to get the deal done. SCOTT: Celtic are interested but it seems the player is keen to try his luck abroad. Miller has to do what is best for his own career. There is a world outside of Celtic and Rangers. Celtic are closing in on a move for Nordsjaelland's Benjamin Nygren - where else does Brendan Rodgers need to strengthen this summer? KEITH: Much of that will depend on where Reo Hatate's head is at this summer. He's been agitating for a move for a while behind the scenes but may have had second thoughts on the back of Kyogo Furuhashi's experiences in France. Either way, Rodgers will be looking out for a new central defender, a wide man and a striker to fill the gap Kyogo left behind. ANDY: He'll need cover for Kieran Tierney at left-back and could do with making another move to strengthen the centre-back options alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers. Another centre-forward is a big priority too. SCOTT: He wants another two midfielders and a left-back with Callum Osmand coming in as the young back-up striker. Only one of the Premiership's opening weekend fixtures will kick off at 3pm on a Saturday - is that fair on match-going fans? KEITH: No but they're well used to it by now. The normal punter has been treated like a second class citizen for years in order to accommodate the broadcasters. And TV cash is king where our clubs are concerned. ANDY: No but the punters have to accept that if their club wants the broadcasters' cash, they have to go with their scheduling. It's a pain but for the majority of weekends, most games will be back at the traditional mid-afternoon slot on a Saturday.

Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale 'disappointed' after police called over row

Footballer, Andy Carroll, and his girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, admitted that the police were called after the couple had a 'heated discussion', which they say was 'blown out of proportion' Andy Carroll and his hair stylist girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, have admitted they were spoken to by police following a row between the couple on the Greek island of Mykonos. The pair, who have been dating since last year following the footballer's split with the mum of his three kids, Billi Mucklow, revealed they'd had a "heated discussion" while on the party island, but that things had been "blown out of proportion". Andy, 36, was reportedly questioned about a bust-up he'd had with Lou, 42, at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' ‌ ‌ The Sun reports that police arrived and took the former West Ham ace, who was "very calm" to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou, who is a well-known celebrity hairstylist. However, hours later police were reportedly called again by staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Officers are said to have escorted Andy to a local station for questioning but no arrests were made. Another source claimed Lou did not stay with her boyfriend that night. They said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.' Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!" ‌ Responding to the reports, Andy and Lou admitted that the police were called following their "heated discussion", however they insisted things had been "blown out of proportion", issuing a joint statement, which read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. "We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.'

'Tough start' for Well but fans have faith in 'Askou-ball'

We asked for your views on Motherwell's Scottish Premiership fixtures and how they will be faring after 10 what some of you said:Clare: Well, well, well, what can I say, I am feeling very positive about where the new manager wants us to finish, which is in the top six. Our opening day fixture against Rangers, well at least it's at home. All I can say for the season ahead is 'bring it on' because this is my fourth season being a season ticket holder and I am just so excited and pumped. Time will tell if my feelings will Twenty points after 10 games, you heard it here first. Askou-ball from the start!D: A tough start certainly, but if we have aspirations of top six then we need to get results in some of these games. Games against the Old Firm don't define our season, but we need to get points against the rest of the sides. Will be interesting to see what style the new manager Sadly I think we are heading for relegation this year. And we will be in the bottom four after the first 10 Tough start so need to get up and running and playing with confidence - will need to boost the squad immediately.
