PBKS vs DC, IPL 2025 Live Score: Punjab (35/1 in 4 ov), Delhi start well with ball, dismiss Priyansh Arya
20:00 IST:5.1: Vipraj Nigam to Josh Inglis, SIX! Vipraj is greeted with a biggie.
19:59 IST:Who will bowl the final over of the Powerplay?
19:58 IST:4.6: Mohit Sharma to Prabhsimran Singh, FOUR! A boundary to end the over. On a length, wide outside off, Prabhsimran Singh strides to the pitch of it before casually lofting this over mid off for a boundary.
19:57 IST:4.5: Mohit Sharma to Prabhsimran Singh, Too full, around middle and off, Prabhsimran Singh looks for the scoop this time but could only manage to get it off the toe of his bat towards short fine for one.
19:57 IST:4.4: Mohit Sharma to Prabhsimran Singh, FOUR! Innovative from Prabhsimran Singh. Good length wide outside off, Prabhsimran Singh shuffles across and was looking for the ramp initially. The ball was bowled too close to him as the bowler followed him and Singh cleverly just changed the stroke from a ramp to a guide through the gap between short third and backward point for four.
19:56 IST:4.3: Mohit Sharma to Prabhsimran Singh, Outside off, pushed towards cover now.
19:55 IST:4.2: Mohit Sharma to Josh Inglis, Fuller, around off, pushed towards mid on for a quick single.
19:54 IST:4.1: Mohit Sharma to Josh Inglis, On a length, outside off, skidding back in, Josh Inglis is late into his flick and gets hit on the pads.
19:53 IST:Will see a bowling change now? Indeed. It will be Mohit Sharma.
19:52 IST:3.6: Mustafizur Rahman to Josh Inglis, Drop? Or a save? Inglis is finding the middle of his bat almost on every stroke thus far. Good length around middle and off. Josh Inglis presents the full face of his bat and nails the on drive. This was hit uppish though and straight towards the strong arm of Mustafizur In his followthrough. The Fizz stuck out his left hand but could only deflect this towards mid on. Call it a drop or a boundary saved as per the team you are supporting.
19:52 IST:A bit of a halt in play. Seems like Josh Inglis has broken his bat. Guys from the PBKS dugout are rushing out to the middle for assistance. Right, the replaced bat goes through the bat gauge and we are ready to resume.
19:50 IST:3.5: Mustafizur Rahman to Josh Inglis, Mustafizur Rahman drags the length back a bit, around middle and off. Josh tucks this towards the left of deep square leg and runs a comfortable two.
19:49 IST:3.4: Mustafizur Rahman to Josh Inglis, SIX! Josh Inglis looks in the mood to punish the side from the capital. On a length, around the pads. Josh Inglis leans inside the line of it, picks it up with a flick and deposits this beyond the fence towards the deep square leg fielder for a huge six. Mind you, there was a fielder placed just for that stroke but such is the confidence of the Aussie keeper that he took him on and cleared the fence with ease.
19:49 IST:3.3: Mustafizur Rahman to Prabhsimran Singh, On a length, outside off, this time Singh gets enough room to open his bat face and guide it behind point for a single.
19:48 IST:3.2: Mustafizur Rahman to Prabhsimran Singh, Around middle and off, this time Prabhsimran looks to get across and dab it behind the wickets but gets cramped for room and is hit on the pads. Not sure whether there was an inside edge or not. But the impact seemed to be outside off.
19:47 IST:3.1: Mustafizur Rahman to Prabhsimran Singh, FOUR! CRISP! That is sheer timing. On a length, around middle, angling away, Prabhsimran Singh just looks to push it back down the ground. Nice high bat lift, not trying to hit the ball hard. But still, the ball races away. Faf du Plessis tries to get around to his right from mid off with a dive but gets beaten.
19:53 IST:2.6: Mukesh Kumar to Josh Inglis, FOUR! DROPPED! We usually see Faf du Plessis at mid on in the Powerplay for Delhi but this time it was Mohit Sharma and he has dropped Josh Inglis. This was pitched up around middle and off, Josh Inglis jumps outside his crease and hammers this uppishly, towards the left of Mohit Sharma at mid on. Sharma dives full stretch to his left but could only manage to get a bit of hand to it. This goes past the fielder and clatters into the boundary fence.
19:45 IST:2.5: Mukesh Kumar to Josh Inglis, Good length, drifting down leg. Josh Inglis moves inside the line of it and flicks this through mid-wicket, scampering back for two.
19:44 IST:2.4: Mukesh Kumar to Josh Inglis, Back of a length, around off. Josh Inglis steps across and punches this crisply but straight towards Mukesh in his followthrough.
19:44 IST:2.3: Mukesh Kumar to Josh Inglis, FOUR! That's the way to pull, says Inglis! A short ball again, but this one does not quite rise that high. It is just about the waist level and Josh Inglis pulls it effortlessly through square leg for his first boundary of the night.
19:43 IST:2.2: Mukesh Kumar to Prabhsimran Singh, TOP EDGE NOW, SAFE AGAIN! A quick short ball, around off, skidding through with extra bounce, Prabhsimran goes for the pull but is hurried into the shot. Gets a top edge which just about clears the man running back from short mid-wicket. A single taken.
19:42 IST:2.1: Mukesh Kumar to Prabhsimran Singh, EDGED, JUST SHORT! Brilliant work by Karun Nair. On a length, just outside off, Prabhsimran Singh looks to defend but then, there is some late movement, away from the batter. He is squared up and looks to open the face of the bat in response, but is late. Gets an outside edge which lands just short of first slip where Nair dives to his right and makes a terrific stop. Not only that, gets up quickly and has a shy at the striker's end too, to keep the batter in check.
19:41 IST:1.6: Mustafizur Rahman to Josh Inglis, Good length on the pads, Josh Inglis gets inside the line of it and flicks this towards deep square for a couple to get off the mark. A successful over for Delhi as Mustafizur Rahman gets a wicket and gives away just 5 off it.
19:40 IST:Josh Inglis walks in next at number 3, replacing Priyansh Arya.
19:40 IST:1.5: Mustafizur Rahman to Priyansh Arya, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! A well-directed short-pitched delivery into the batter. Priyansh Arya gets hurried on as this was pace on from the Fizz. Arys goes for the pull but gets late and manages to lob this just behind Tristan Stubbs, donning the gloves behind the stumps. Stubbs backpedals and takes a good catch to break the opening pair of Punjab. Arya departs for 6 (9).
19:38 IST:1.4: Mustafizur Rahman to Priyansh Arya, Swing and a miss. Arya isn't having the best of an outing this evening, so far. Good length, wide outside off, Priyansh Arya stands and throws his bat at it looking to loft this over cover but gets beaten.
19:38 IST:1.3: Mustafizur Rahman to Priyansh Arya, A bit of a misfield early on. Think it is Sameer Rizvi. Nope, Ashutosh Sharma. On a length, around off, Priyansh Arya opens the face of his bat and guides it behind point. Ashutosh gets across to his right and reaches the ball, but fumbles, allowing the single.
19:37 IST:1.2: Mustafizur Rahman to Prabhsimran Singh, A touch short, around middle, Prabhsimran nudges it through square leg for a single, to get off the mark.
19:36 IST:1.1: Mustafizur Rahman to Prabhsimran Singh, Right on the money. On a length, around off, angling away, Prabhsimran Singh pushes it towards cover.
19:36 IST:The Capitals had a great start to the season. For the first time in their history, Delhi Capitals won each of their first four games of the season. They won 6 out of their first 8 matches, but couldn't manage to win a single game in their last 5 fixtures this season. It will be Mustafizur Rahman to share the new ball.
19:35 IST:0.6: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, Persists with that nagging length around off, Priyansh pushes this towards mid off to end the over with a dot.
19:34 IST:0.5: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, FOUR! A good bit of bowling by Mukesh but some clever work with the bat has earned Arya a boundary. Good length around off, Priyansh Arya plays this late and just opens the face of his bat to run this wide of the first slip fielder to his left, for a boundary towards the deep third region.
19:33 IST:0.4: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, Good length, angling into the batter around his pads. Priyansh Arya goes for the flick but gets beaten by the swing on offer and wears it on his thigh pad.
19:33 IST:0.4: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, WIDE! An extra to get the scorecard ticking for Punjab. Good length, way too wide outside off. Arya goes for the wild slash but misses out. Wided.
19:32 IST:0.3: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, Hint of swing. Fuller, around middle and leg, Priyansh covers the swing nicely and blocks it down the track.
19:31 IST:0.2: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, Slightly shorter than the previous ball, skids through, coming in slightly, 139.7 kph, Arya punches it towards mid off from his crease.
19:32 IST:0.1: Mukesh Kumar to Priyansh Arya, On a good length to start, just around off, angling away, at 131.1 kph. Priyansh Arya watchfully pushes it towards mid off.
19:30 IST:The umpires make their way out to the field. Some last words being spoken amongst the DC huddle. It disperses and out walk the PBKS openers - Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. It will be Mukesh Kumar to start off proceedings with the new ball. Priyansh Arya will take first strike. A nice breeze is blowing across the ground now, which should help the players. All set then. Here we go!
19:27 IST:Interesting calls from both sides. Punjab Kings have opted to drop in a spinner, in that too, Yuzvendra Chahal, not even being named in the impact list. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have left out the in-form Abishek Porel, but that might be because of the fact that Sediqullah Atal has been creating waves in the T20 circuit. Perhaps the DC management wants to see what more does Afghanistan have to offer in their latest talent. And in this match as well, one will not see Rahul on the field, playing only as an impact batter. Tristan Stubbs will be donning the gloves for this game, in the absence of Porel.
19:12 IST:The captain of Punjab Kings, SHREYAS IYER, on being asked about the mood in the dressing room after qualifying for the playoffs after 10 years, says that there are happy faces around, with the management equally happy with the 'Q' sign against the team's name. But adds that personally, he is neither saitisfied nor contented, as he wants to build momentum from here around. He explains that there has been a lot of effort to get to this stage and he now wants all those efforts to help them finish on top in the league stage. That statement leads to the next question, which is the possibility of finishing in the top 2, to which, Shreyas says that the job is half done as of now. Wants his team to stay in the present and seize its chances to finish in the top 2. On the team news, Iyer informs that JOSH INGLIS AND MARCUS STOINIS come back to the side.
19:09 IST:The skipper of Delhi Capitals, FAF DU PLESSIS, on being asked about his decision to bowl, says that he is 50-50 and the decision is purely due to the makeup of his side, which features an extra batter. Faf feels that with that additional batter, he would be better used in the second half. On DC's tournament, du Plessis admits that it has been a kind of a rollercoaster ride with players lacking confidence with things not going their way. Details that unfortunately for his players, when they have seemed to get some momentum, a lapse in concentration has pushed them back. Gives an example from DC's last game where his team bowled well for around 17 overs but then, a slight lapse messed things up. Is positive in the team's eagerness to finish 5th in the standings, adding that ideally, you always want to qualify for the playoffs but now, wants to take the next best scenario. On the team news, Faf informs that KARUN NAIR is coming back into the side.
19:05 IST:IMPACT NOMINATIONS FOR DELHI - KL Rahul, Manvanth Kumar, Tripurana Vijay, Ajay Mandal and Darshan Nalkande.
19:27 IST:Delhi Capitals (Playing XI) - Faf du Plessis (C) (OVERSEAS), Sediqullah Atal (OVERSEAS) (IN FOR ABISHEK POREL), Karun Nair (IN FOR DUSHMANTHA CHAMEERA), Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs (WK) (OVERSEAS), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma (IN FOR MADHAV TIWARI), Mustafizur Rahman and Mukesh Kumar.
19:05 IST:IMPACT NOMINATIONS FOR PUNJAB - Praveen Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Xavier Bartlett and Kyle Jamieson.
19:15 IST:Punjab Kings (Playing XI) - Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Josh Inglis (WK) (OVERSEAS) (IN FOR MITCHELL OWEN), Shreyas Iyer (C), Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis (OVERSEAS) (IN FOR XAVIER BARTLETT), Marco Jansen (OVERSEAS), Azmatullah Omarzai (OVERSEAS), Harpreet Brar (IN FOR YUZVENDRA CHAHAL) and Arshdeep Singh.
19:01 IST:TOSS - Time for decision making for the captains. Defend or chase? Will dew be a factor? It is indeed FAF DU PLESSIS who will shepherd the Capitals for one last time this season. The home captain for this game, SHREYAS IYER, flips the coin. Tails is the call from Faf. It turns down as a tail. DELHI CAPITALS ELECT TO CHASE.

Photos: After being ignored for England Tests, Shreyas Iyer holidays in Kazakhstan
Pictures of Shreyas Iyer on vacation in Kazakhstan have gone viral on social media (Image via X/@AnuranDey_96) Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has opted for a quiet break in Kazakhstan after a rollercoaster month on the field and a notable omission from India's Test squad for the ongoing series against England. Iyer, who recently led the Punjab Kings (PBKS) to the IPL 2025 final and then captained the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League, found himself on the losing side in two consecutive high-stakes matches. Despite a stellar run with PBKS, who topped the IPL league table with nine wins and 19 points, Iyer's side fell agonisingly short in the title clash, losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by just six runs. He returned to domestic action almost immediately, turning out for the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League. The Falcons, guided by Iyer's experienced leadership, reached the final but were defeated by Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals by five wickets — adding another near-miss to Iyer's summer. Shubman's Big Test Begins! India's Probable XI & Stokes' Mind Games | ENG vs IND 1st Test Preview Adding to the disappointment, Iyer was left out of India's squad for the ongoing Test series against England — a decision that has raised eyebrows, given his experience and proven ability in the middle order. A fan video on social media shows him cruising through the city in a car with Siddesh Lad, a former Mumbai Ranji Trophy player and T20 Mumbai League regular, and another companion. The trio later posed for photos, with Iyer spotted in a white shirt, donning black shades. In another clip, the PBKS skipper is overcome by laughter, reacting to his teammate. While Iyer's recent run has been a mixed bag on the pitch, the break comes as a timely reset ahead of what's shaping up to be an important few months for the stylish right-hander. Ashwin's wife stirs the internet after not seeing husband, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in India Test XI: 'Unlearn'
It is a bittersweet feeling as the whites are back! India are back to playing Test cricket, and an exciting challenge awaits in the UK as the Shubman Gill-led young side gears up to square off against Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball'. However, one cannot deny the void left by the retirements of Ravichandran Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the longest format. The Indian side would be without their three senior-most pros, and fans have to get used to not seeing the experienced trioka. Ahead of the first Test between India and England in Headingley, Leeds, Ravichandran Ashwin's wife had a mixed reaction to India returning to the longest and toughest format. She echoed the same feelings as several other Indian fans, possibly hinting towards the absence of Ashwin, Virat and Rohit. Ashwin retired from the longest format midway through the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in December 2024. He bid adieu to international cricket after the third Test at the Gabba, Brisbane. Ashwin is the second-highest wicket-taker for India in international cricket, only behind Anil Kumble. On the other hand, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from Tests just days ahead of the squad announcement for the England series. Both Rohit and Virat had a terrible time in Australia as the duo struggled for runs. Also Read: IND vs ENG LIVE Updates: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul begin proceedings for India However, it will take time to get used to not seeing Ashwin, Rohit and Virat in whites and making the team win from improbable situations. "Test match day for India, and I woke up with many mixed feelings. Have to find a different way to love it and unlearn the only way I knew to," Prithi Narayanan wrote on Instagram Stories. In the first Test in Leeds, Headingley, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking of the visitors, India handed a debut to Sai Sudharsan while Karun Nair returns to the Test side after 11 years. Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja are playing as the all-rounders while Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj are playing as out-and-out seam bowlers. Also Read: Sai Sudharsan makes debut on same date as Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli At the toss, Shubman Gill said, 'Would've bowled first as well, might be a bit tough in the first session but it should be good to bat on later. Sun is out, should be a good batting deck for us. Preparation has been amazing, we played a practice game in Beckenham, lads are feeling great. Sai makes his debut, Karun comes in. Sai will bat at three.' On the other hand, Ben Stokes said, 'We'll bowl. Headingley is a very good cricket wicket, we've had some really good games here. Want to try and use the early conditions.' 'Been a long time coming, bit strange that this is just the second series but we're ready. It's been mixed, some lads have played county cricket, we've had three days of really good cricket. Usual suspects in the top seven, Woakes, Brydon, Bashir, Tongue and myself make up the bowling,' he added.

Prem, Aashiq and Jagadeesan power Super Gillies into the playoffs
Chepauk Super Gillies stormed into the playoffs with a commanding six-wicket victory over SKM Salem Spartans in the final league match of the Salem-leg of the TNPL at the Salem Cricket Foundation Ground on Thursday. Super Gillies rode on fluent half-centuries by opener K. Aashiq and the ever-reliable N. Jagadeesan to make it five out of five while Spartans stayed in the second spot with six points from five games. Aashiq and Mokit Hariharan came out all guns blazing , punishing both pace and spin with a flurry of boundaries, to set the tone in pursuit of the 161-run target. Aashiq was particularly severe on M. Poiyamozhi, striking two fours and a towering six while Mokit took the attack to Harish Kumar, clearing the ropes twice as Super Gillies raced to 71 without loss at the end of the PowerPlay. Just as the openers were cruising, Mokit dragged one on to the stumps off Hari Nishaanth. Jagadeesan joined Aashiq and immediately found his rhythm. The duo added 52 runs before Karthick Manikandan dismissed Aashiq. Jagadeesan fell after a 25-ball 50 before skipper B. Aparajith sealed the win with a huge six. Earlier, Spartans openers S. Abishiek and Hari Nishaanth took the team to 63 without loss in eight overs. However, it soon slumped to 95 for five. Left-arm spinner M. Silambarasan dismissed Nishaanth while pacer J. Prem Kumar removed Nidhish Rajagopal. Prem later castled both R. Vivek and Abishiek. R. Kavin was run out with Mokit effecting a direct hit. However, A late flourish from Sunny Sandhu (30, 18b, 1x4, 2x6) and M. Mohammed (28 n.o., 11b, 3x4, 2x6) lifted Spartans to 160 which was not enough. The scores: SKM Salem Spartans 160/7 in 20 overs (Hari Nishaanth 31, S. Abishiek 47, Sunny Sandhu 30, J. Prem Kumar 3/19) lost to Chepauk Super Gillies 162/4 in 16.3 overs (K. Aashiq 56, Mokit Hariharan 32, N. Jagadeesan 50). Toss: Super Gillies. Next match: At Tirunelveli (Saturday): Nellai Royal Kings vs Lyca Kovai Kings (7.15 p.m.).
