Renee Zellweger sparks engagement rumors with boyfriend Ant Anstead after Bridget Jones premiere
Academy Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger's recent red carpet appearance has led to speculation about a possible engagement to her longtime partner, British television presenter Ant Anstead.
The 55-year-old actress attended the London premiere of
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
on Wednesday, wearing a striking fuchsia pink gown. However, attention shifted to her left hand, where two bandages covered her ring finger, prompting speculation that a ring might be concealed beneath.
Zellweger and Anstead, 45, have been in a relationship since 2021. Though Anstead did not walk the red carpet, the couple was later seen leaving the afterparty together at Brasserie Zedel, displaying affectionate gestures.
Anstead, who is based in Southern California, shares a five-year-old son, Hudson, with his ex-wife, television personality Christina Haack. He also has two older children, Amelie, 21, and Archie, 18, from his previous marriage to Louise Anstead.
Zellweger recently shared insights into their relationship in an interview with
British Vogue
, mentioning that she resides near San Diego to be close to Anstead and his son.
Fans have previously speculated about a possible secret marriage after Anstead referred to Zellweger as his 'missus' in multiple social media posts. In July 2023,
The US Sun
reported that the couple was planning a private wedding, with sources describing their relationship as strong and committed.
Zellweger was previously married to country singer Kenny Chesney for four months in 2005. She was also engaged to actor Jim Carrey from 1999 to 2000 and has been linked to actor Bradley Cooper.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
is set to release in theaters on February 14, 2025.

Chris Brown pleads not guilty to London nightclub assault charges
Grammy-winning artist Chris Brown appeared in court in London on Friday, June 20, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm stemming from a 2023 nightclub incident. The 36-year-old singer is accused of assaulting music producer Abraham Diaw at the upscale Tape nightclub in Mayfair in what prosecutors have described as an unprovoked attack. Brown is alleged to have struck Diaw multiple times with a tequila bottle before continuing the assault by punching and kicking him. Prosecutors also stated the violent episode was caught on surveillance footage and witnessed by numerous club-goers. Alongside Brown, fellow musician and friend Omololu Akinlolu, known professionally as Hoody Baby, also pleaded not guilty to the same charge. Additional charges were added to Brown's indictment ahead of Friday's hearing. These include assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon—in this case, the bottle allegedly used in the attack. However, the court has adjourned Brown's plea on these new charges until July 11. Brown, who performed to a packed stadium in Cardiff just hours before his court appearance, is currently out on bail set at £5 million (approximately $6.75 million). The substantial bail amount enabled him to begin his world tour earlier this month despite the looming legal case. The trial is set to begin on October 26, 2026. Until then, Brown will remain free under bail conditions while continuing to face serious legal scrutiny over the alleged violent incident.
