Great pictures as Kirrie gets its rocks off at Bonfest

Kirriemuir had a ball as AC/DC fans invaded Angus for Bonfest.
And what was probably the biggest ever crowd in the history of the long-running rock festival swamped the town centre on Saturday.
Thousands packed the streets to watch the band's Long Way to the Top hit recreated on the back of a truck.
In early 1976, the original was filmed on the back of a flatbed lorry travelling along Swanston Street in Melbourne, Australia.
It was a couple of years after Kirriemuir baker's son Bon Scott joined the band founded by Glasgow brothers Malcolm and Angus Young as it began its rise to global fame.
This year's Kirriemuir influx has included fans from Down Under, as well as a host of other nations from around the globe.
Kirrie charity DD8 Music organises the event, which features a final night of headliners in the main area at the festival site on Sunday.
And the glorious weather has ensured a bumper weekend for local pubs, filled with fans for music sessions

On seeing the picture, in which Superman looks like he's in an inspiring Amazon delivery ad, fans couldn't help but notice that David looked 'weird' in the wide-angle lens. 'The zoomed in fisheye lens look is so weird to me. I know everybody and their grandmother is obsessed with James Gunn and thinks he's some perfect filmmaker, but so much of the promotional material for this movie makes me want to not see it,' said @syaokuro on X. 'POV im waiting for you to give me my lil kiss on the forehead,' joked @Cuellar_Elissa about the hopeful facial expression on David's face. 'We need to retire this camera angle for good,' said @Rasheto. 'I know he REALLY wants this shot but man you gotta let this s**t go,' said @Jdemfoo. 'It looks terrible, unflattering and there's basically no right way to light this scene. Cutting room floor.' Some compared the moment to similar shots of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Black Adam and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in movies gone by. When the teaser trailer dropped in January fans had the same issue. 'I don't know why you would shoot a shot like this in that way. It's always gonna make a head appear bigger and give the shot a weird look – it also accentuates David Corenswet's strabismus eyes,' Reddit userDoctorBeatMaker reflected. 'I think there's something wrong with the cape too. It looks way too fake somehow,' equal-ad-2710 wrote. In a recent interview with Gizmodo, James reflected that the new movie was about the 'basic kindness of human beings' and even offered a rebuttal to the more toxic side of the internet. He continued: 'When I watch the trailer and the movie, we do have a sort of battered vision of Superman at the beginning. I think that is our country. 'I believe in the goodness of human beings. And I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs [or] their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like to the other side and what that other side might be. 'I think this movie is about that. It's about the basic kindness of human beings. And that it can be seen as uncool, and it can be seen as under siege when some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices. 'That's what happens when you let the internet seem like it's the world—when it's not the world. The world is us.' Special screening of new Superman movie at Stirling cinema

Film-goers who book a slot for the Stirling showing next month will also take home a piece of comic book history. Tickets are on sale for an exclusive Superman screening at Vue Stirling - with fans in for a treat to take home. To mark the arrival of the highly anticipated relaunch of Superman, Vue is holding a screening of the film – with those who book the slot taking home a special piece of comic book history. ‌ Taking place during the film's opening weekend, on Friday July 11, there will be just one Superman Hero Screening at Vue Stirling and every booking for the limited screening will come with a copy of All Star Superman No.1 - the comic that inspired James Gunn's new take on the Man of Steel - to pick up on the day. ‌ Tickets for the screening are available to book now - however the offer will only be available while stocks last. The upcoming sequel had been delayed and rumours about the film's development troubles began to circulate online, though Gunn, 58, has now stressed The Batman: Part II is still in the works and he is expecting director Matt Reeves, 59, to hand in a screenplay later in June. ‌ Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: "Listen, we're supposed to get a script in June. I hope that happens. ‌ "We feel really good about it. Matt's excited. I talk to Matt all the time. I'm totally excited about it. So we can't wait to read the scripts, but we haven't read it yet, if that's your question." The DC head added "people should get off Matt's nuts" and stop hassling him for updates about The Batman: Part II. Gunn said: "People should get off Matt's nuts because it's like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it. That's just the way it is. The Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker added he was "irritated" by the constant bombardment of questions about the movie online. He said: "I am irritated by people. It's going to come out when he feels good about the screenplay. ‌ "And Matt's not going to give me the screenplay until he feels good about the screenplay." The Batman: Part II was initially due to hit cinemas in 2026, though was pushed back a year to October 2027 to give Reeves more time to finish the story. Although no plot details about the film are known, it has been confirmed Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight, Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, Colin Farrell's The Penguin, Andy Serkis's Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright's Gotham police officer James 'Jim' Gordon would all be returning for the sequel. ‌ While work on The Batman: Part II continues, it was recently announced the Caped Crusader would be getting his own villain spin-off movie through Clayface. The picture will star White Lines actor Tom Rhys Harries in the titular role, while Speak No Evil filmmaker James Watkins directs from a script written by Doctor Sleep's Mike Flanagan. Gunn explained Clayface - which will hit screens in September 2026 - would be set in the mainline DC Universe (DCU) opposed to the Elseworlds universe, like The Batman, which is separate to the DCU. ‌ Gunn said of bringing Clayface into the DCU: "Well, I think it was just we needed DCU content. Mike Flanagan is somebody who I've been friendly with for a long time, and he wrote me about Clayface. "He texted me about it really early on in my DC journey. Just being honest, I did not think that was something that was going to happen, but he came in and he pitched the idea and I was like, 'Oh s***! That's cool.' "It's a body horror movie.
