#SHOWBIZ: KRU: Mum is happiest to see us reunite as a pop trio

KUALA LUMPUR: KRU brothers Datuk Norman, Datuk Yusry and Edry Abdul Halim have just launched their comeback album titled Kaset.
They are delighted to reunite as a pop group but their mother Zarina Abdul Wahab appears to be the "happiest person in town".
At the launch and listening session of the album yesterday, Norman said: "Our mother is overjoyed to see us get back together to produce Kaset.
"The recording took place at our sister's house because our parents live with her."
The studio album which comes 22 years after their last one Krunomena in 2003, contains 10 songs which bring back nostalgia of their early days in the 1990s.
Norman, 53, Yusry, 52, and Edry, 49, revealed that Kaset was produced in cassette and compact disc (CD) formats for their hardcore fans to make into a collection, as well as being streamed on digital platforms by new generation fans.
Norman said: "For fans who want to get this album in cassette form, we only printed 300 units and it is limited. But we came up with approximately 3,000 units of the CD."
Norman admitted that selling 1,000 CD units was quite difficult today.
The brothers will also be selling their album's CDs during the GENKRU Concert at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil on May 3, 4 and 10.
The songs included in the Kaset album, which is also KRU's 15th album in 30 years, are Hambadansa, One More Time, Remaja Selamanya, GOAT, Selamat Hari Lahir, Voodoo, Sampai Sini Saja, High Maintenance, Ciptaan Sempurna and Agung.

Stephen Chow cuddles up to Carina Lau in new photo; is there a new movie collab?

Just the fact these two Hong Kong legends are hanging out together is good news. Photo: Carina Lau/Instagram Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow is back in action, gearing up for his first movie in nearly six years. Late last year, he announced plans to direct Shaolin Women's Soccer , his first project since 2019's The New King Of Comedy . Naturally, famous old friends are rallying behind him – including actress Carina Lau, who co-starred with Chow in the 1996 hit Forbidden City Cop . Lau recently posted a photo of the two on Instagram, sparking both nostalgia and speculation. In the picture, Chow leans his head on her shoulder and wraps his arms around her, while Lau smiles brightly and gives a thumbs-up. She captioned it with a famous line from Forbidden City Cop (1996), Sin Chew reported:'Aren't you hungry? I'll cook you some noodles to eat!' The affectionate post set fans abuzz – not just because of the throwback vibes, but because of what Lau was wearing: a white jersey printed with the logo for Shaolin Women's Football . Could this be a subtle hint that Lau is joining the cast of Chow's upcoming film after their last collaboration almost 30 years ago? Fans are hopeful.
