Newly released video shows the moment cops battled to stop a Florida jewel thief from swallowing nearly $770,000 worth of Tiffany earrings he allegedly stole during a strong-arm heist gone wrong.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol were seen pulling over Jaythan Lawrence Gilder and fighting to search the inside of his mouth as he was escorted out of his car, according to the clip obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Glider, 32, began thrashing around as three astonished officers wrestled him to the ground and demanded he 'open his mouth,' according to the clip.
A trooper pulled Glider over after cops were on alert about a robbery in theTiffany & Co. store in The Mall of Millenia. The cop then noticed he 'was talking with a closed mouth and was moving an object around…using his tongue,' according to an arrest warrant obtained by the outlet.

'You're about to get tased,' one trooper yelled as officers continued to try to get him to release the contents of his mouth.
'I don't have to,' Glider replied through gritted teeth.
Gilder allegedly pretended to be a representative for an Orlando Magic player to gain access to pricey jewelry at a Tiffany & Co. store in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 26, WFLA reported.

Video from inside the store captured him in a VIP room of the store, where he allegedly told staff that his name was Shawn and he was negotiating a sale for an Orlando Magic basketball team player, according to footage released by the Orlando Police Department.
The accused thief then ran out of the store with two sets of earrings — one 4.86-carat set worth $160,000 and another 8.10-carat set worth $609,500, cops said.
Gilder was stopped by the Orlando Police Department on Interstate 10 and charged with resisting arrest — but not theft, because the stolen earrings couldn't be found.
But while in jail, Gilder 'spontaneously' asked staff if he was going to be charged 'with what's in my stomach,' the arrest report reviewed by WFLA read.

A trooper in the Orange County jail reportedly overheard Gilder say, 'I should have thrown them out the window.'
Gilder then underwent a body scan where detectives were able to spot foreign objects working their way through his digestive tract.
He was watched by detectives at an area hospital for 'more than a dozen days' before the earrings were expelled from his system, according to cops.
The items were then cleaned by 'Tiffany's Master Jeweler' and eventually turned over to a company security manager, according to a police report.
Gilder has 48 outstanding warrants in Colorado and was charged with robbing another Tiffany & Co. in Texas in 2022, according to that report.
He was charged with first-degree grand theft and robbery with a mask.

The Gold shows downside to life on-the-run for Brink's-Mat robbers

The Gold showed that life in hiding abroad may not have been quite so glamorous for the Brink's-Mat robbers. Jack Lowden's portrayal of criminal Kenneth Noye showed him as paranoid and anxious in the latest episode of the BBC true-crime drama, which aired on Monday, 16 June. Things began to unravel for the gold robbers living in hiding in luxurious foreign locations. Noye found the Canary Islands was not the most comfortable place to be after he was recognised in a bar by a fellow British ex-pat. Noye chose to go on the run yet again, while money launderer John Palmer stayed put. But later in the episode things began to fall apart for both Palmer and fellow money launderer Logan Campbell, as the police closed in on them. The Gold examines one of the most infamous crimes in British history, the Brink's-Mat robbery, which led to £26m worth of gold, jewellery and cash being stolen — the equivalent of £111m today. A number of people were involved in the robbery from the raid itself to helping melt down the gold, launder the money, and recirculate it back into legitimate channels. The first series featured the robbery and the immediate aftermath, while the current series follows the police investigation to hunt down and catch the criminals after they fled abroad. The hunt is led by detective Brian Boyce, played by Hugh Bonneville. In episode four of series two Noye has been released from prison after serving eight years of his sentence for being found guilty of conspiracy to handle the gold stolen in the Brink's-Mat robbery in 1983. He arrives in Tenerife to visit Palmer, played by Tom Cullen, who has set up a timeshare business on the island to launder the money from the robbery. Looking around Palmer's luxurious home Noye tells him: "This is nice, John. Your house, your plane, your life. Could have been a lot worse though, couldn't it? For you anyway. I did my time." Later, Noye is out drinking in a bar when he is recognised by an old friend of a friend who he played golf with. He asks him: "You on holiday then? Fair enough, hey, you deserve one, don't you, after a stretch like that." Noye threatens the man not to tell anyone where he is, saying: "You won't tell no-one nothing. Because if I find out that you told Barry or your missus, or your f***ing dog, you saw me here, and that ain't gonna work out well for you, Dave. That ain't gonna work out well at all." Noye then returns to see Palmer and asks for his help to disappear. Noye tells him: "Don't matter what I'm running from, what matters is staying ahead of it. And that ain't happening there. Too many English on this island, I may as well be in bloody Kent. I need to go somewhere quiet. And I need enough dough to stay there. "You don't want me coming back here, do you? Every time I need a little bit more of what you got from the gold." As he leaves he tells Palmer: "You know the difference between us, John. We're both on the run. But only I know it." Campbell is a fictional character, who has been created for the purposes of the series and he actually is based on multiple real-life people. In the episode fellow money launderer Douglas Baxter turned and became a police informant he agreed to wear a wire and talk to Campbell about his involvement in the Brink's-Mat robbery. Campbell, played by Tom Hughes, guesses something is up and invites Baxter into the swimming pool with him to check if he is wearing a wire. He then confesses everything to his girlfriend Kadene and invites her to go on the run with him to South America or Switzerland. Campbells says: "There's a lot I can tell you, and I will. For now What you need to know is that I've Laundered large amounts of drugs money, and the DEA and the British police are here to arrest me." In a tense climax to the episode Kadene turns Campbell in to the police, telling him: "I chose Tortola." And back in Spain, Palmer agrees to take on a new money laundering client, only to realise he has been set up by an under cover officer and everything he has said is on camera. The Gold series 2 continues on BBC One next on Sunday, 22 June at 9pm, all episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.

More than a dozen injured in Israel in Iranian missile strikes

At least 16 people were hurt and at least one impact was reported in central Israel after Iran launched two waves of missiles at the country following the U.S. bombing of its nuclear sites, rescue services and reports said. Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service said in a statement that it had "evacuated 16 people to hospital, including a 30-year-old man in moderate condition after being wounded in the upper body by shrapnel." Public broadcaster KAN 11 showed images of a devastated building surrounded by mounds of rubble that it said was in central Israel, following the two waves of missiles launched at Israel from around 7:30 am local time. Israeli security forces and first responders gather at the site of an Iranian strike that hit a residential building in the Ramat Aviv area in Tel Aviv on June 22, 2025. JACK GUEZ/AFP via Getty Images Sirens rang around the country after the Israeli army reported the incoming missiles, with air defenses activated shortly afterwards, causing loud explosions heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israeli police reported "the fall of weapon fragments" in a northern area encompassing the port of Haifa, where local authorities said emergency services were heading to an "accident site". Reporting on missile strikes is subject to strict military censorship rules in Israel, but at least 50 impacts have been officially acknowledged nationwide and 25 people have been killed since the war began with Iran on June 13, according to official figures. Coastal hub Tel Aviv, the southern city of Beersheba and the northern port Haifa have been the three areas most frequently targeted by Iran. Israel's sophisticated air defenses have intercepted more than 450 missiles along with around 1,000 drones, according to the latest figures from the Israeli military.

Memorial Day weekend shooting leaves 11 injured near North Myrtle Beach as police hunt suspects

South Carolina authorities continue to search for the suspect or suspects who carried out a mass shooting that left 11 people injured on Sunday evening in Little River, near North Myrtle Beach. The Horry County Police Department described the shooting as an isolated incident stemming from an altercation on a charter boat during a private Memorial Day gathering. There were about 124 people onboard the boat, including four crew members, when the shooting occurred, Horry County police said during a Tuesday press conference. Three victims are still hospitalized while eight have been released, authorities said during the press conference. "This type of violence will not be tolerated in Horry County," HCPD Chief Kris Leonhardt said. "We are going to do our very best to investigate this case and bring criminal charges against these folks that have caused this incident here in our county." Horry County Fire Department Chief Joseph Tanner said authorities initially got a call around 9:15 p.m. reporting an injury and responded accordingly. Upon arrival, officials located multiple gunshot-wounded victims. The charter boat party attendees were from out of town, Leonhardt said, making it more difficult to track down witnesses. A total of 10 victims sustained gunshot wounds and another person reported an unknown injury not related to gunfire, the police department said in a Monday press release. Some victims were recovered from the water, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department (NMBPD) said in a separate press release. "Of those, the worst of the injured are in critical but stable condition at area hospitals," Horry County police said in a press release. Videos and photos posted to social media on Sunday evening showed a heavy police presence in the area of the Dolphin Cruise parking lot in Little River, located north of North Myrtle Beach. NMBPD also said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating a separate incident involving a responding North Myrtle Beach officer who was injured with his own firearm near the Harbourgate Marina in North Myrtle Beach. "A NMBPD Officer was entering a gate to the dock when his rifle discharged twice, with one of the rounds striking his leg," the department said in its press release. "At the time of the discharge, the Officer had both of his hands on the gate, which was confirmed by later video evidence. Due to the Officer not attempting to utilize his weapon at the time, all Officers on scene believed that shots were being fired from the marina area." The officer was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Video footage obtained from a witness apparently shows the incident, and authorities determined that "the discharge was from the wounded Officer's rifle," and the scene was released to SLED. Horry County police said the shooting remains under investigation, and "there is currently no associated risk to the community." Crime concerns in and around Myrtle Beach have been heightened since April 26, when a shooting in the Myrtle Beach entertainment district left the shooter dead and 11 victims injured. Myrtle Beach officials described the shooting as an isolated incident at the time. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Horry County PD Crime Tip Line at 843-915-8477.
