For years, Siargao's residents have relied on fragile microwave radio connections, leaving them vulnerable to frequent outages, slow speeds, and exclusion from the digital economy. Schools like Espoir, which serves underprivileged children, struggle with offline-only learning, while villages like Barangay Pitogo face isolation due to unreliable communication networks.

This will provide six months of high-speed satellite internet, enabling access to online curricula, teacher training, and e-governance tools. With this, Bitget plans to provide long-term support through $10M Blockchain 4 Youth and $10M Blockchain 4 Her initiatives, which will introduce blockchain literacy and digital finance skills to students and women-led cooperatives. India New Delhi had granted a licence to Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service, opening India's 'next frontier of connectivity', according to the country's communications minister. The launch of Starlink, which provides high-speed internet access to remote locations using low Earth orbit satellites, has sparked fierce debate in India over issues ranging from predatory pricing to spectrum allocation. A series of skills training programs for Filipinos has concluded successfully at the Philippine Embassy and the Majestic Hotel in Bahrain, equipping participants with valuable knowledge in baking, haircutting, manicure, and pedicure. The initiative, part of the Philippine government's ongoing efforts to empower Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), aimed to provide participants with practical skills that support career advancement, financial self-sufficiency, and future reintegration upon returning to the Philippines. A total of 61 Filipinos completed the trainings, with 32 graduating from the baking skills session held in the morning, and 29 others completing training in haircutting, manicure, and pedicure during the afternoon. Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Officer Juvilyn Anns Gumabay and Migrant Workers Office Officer-in-Charge Celia V. Cabadonga led the ceremonies and commended the participants for their dedication and willingness to improve themselves. They encouraged other OFWs to take advantage of similar opportunities in the future. 'This kind of training not only enriches your skillset but also prepares you for a more secure and sustainable future,' said Cabadonga. Yesterday, as the Philippines marked its 127th Independence Day, its Trade and Investment Centre in Riyadh reaffirmed the country's commitment to building strategic global partnerships. In an article penned by Philippine Commercial Attaché Vince Lorenzo T. Liwanag, Bahrain was specifically highlighted as a trusted ally due to its long-standing Filipino community of over 55,000 residents. According to Liwanag, this cultural presence forms a 'trusted bilateral network' and provides a ready-made bridge of familiarity and trust for Bahraini entrepreneurs and entities exploring business in the Philippines. The article stressed that Bahrain-based conglomerates, sovereign funds, and visionary investors are well-positioned to partner in sectors where the Philippines is actively seeking foreign participation. The Philippines posted a robust GDP growth of 5.6 percent in 2024, outperforming many regional peers. The country is also rich in green minerals like nickel, cobalt, and copper, with ambitions to locally process these for use in electric vehicles, energy storage, and clean-tech supply chains. Infrastructure offers further prospects. The government has outlined 173 flagship projects under its 'Build Better More' programme, worth $45 billion. Opportunities are open for Bahraini companies with engineering and construction capabilities to enter through Public-Private Partnerships or direct investment.
