9 killed, over a dozen injured in Russian missile attacks on Ukraine

A Russian drone and missile attack on Ukraine's capital overnight killed at least nine people and injured others, according to local officials, as rescue workers and firefighters sought to remove people they believed trapped under debris in a partially collapsed apartment building. Elsewhere in Ukraine, a Russian short-range drone attack killed two people and wounded 10 more in the Chernihiv region late Sunday night, authorities said. According to the regional administration head, Viacheslav Chaus, three children were among the wounded. Another person was killed and eight wounded overnight in the city of Bila Tserkva, around 85 kilometers (53 miles) southwest of the capital. The strikes came nearly a week after a combined Russian attack on Ukraine last Tuesday killed 28 people in Kyiv, 23 of them in a residential building that collapsed after sustaining a direct hit by a missile. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called that attack one of the biggest bombardments of the war, now in its fourth year. In the early hours of Monday, drones and missiles hit residential areas, hospitals and sports infrastructure in numerous districts across Kyiv, emergency services said, with the most severe damage occurring in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where one section of a five-story apartment building collapsed. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said six people were confirmed dead in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Ten others, including a pregnant woman, were rescued from a nearby high-rise that also sustained heavy damage in the blast. Dozens of vehicles, some burned out and others mangled by flying debris from the blast, formed a snarl in the courtyard in front of the building, which had collapsed down to the second floor. Onlookers, some wrapped in blankets, watched tearfully as the cleanup operation took place. Dozens of volunteers worked to remove broken glass, downed tree branches and other debris. Klitschko told reporters from the scene that we very much hope that the death toll will not increase, but that rescue workers were still searching the collapsed building for further casualties. Russia fired a total of 352 exploding drones and decoys overnight, Ukraine's air force said. Russia also launched 11 ballistic missiles and five cruise missiles. Air defences intercepted or jammed 339 drones and 15 missiles before they could reach their targets, the statement said. Meanwhile, Russia's Defence Ministry said its air defences shot down 23 Ukrainian drones overnight into Monday.

We are responsible for ‘Network …' message on Donald Trump's Truth Social platform, claim Iranian-aligned hackers

AI-generated image (Representative purpose only) Truth Social suffered a brief outage last week after President Donald Trump announced a US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. Days later, a group of hackers aligned with Iran - 313 Team has claimed responsibility for the social media platform's malfunction. The group claims that it carried out a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack that briefly took down the platform on Saturday (June 21) night. The non-profit Center for Internet Security (CIS) and several social media watchdogs confirmed the claim, says a report by Mediaite. Truth Social outage after Trump's post Trump posted around 7.46 pm ET that the United States had entered Israel's war against Iran stating that the US had waged a 'very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.' Some screenshots suggest API congestion as the cause of the disruption. Truth Social became inaccessible shortly after 8 p.m. ET (5:30am IST), soon after Trump used the platform to announce the US strikes on Iran. This cyberattack claim comes amid growing concerns about digital retaliation from Iran. Last week, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a bulletin warning that Iranian-linked hackers may look to target American networks in response to US support for Israeli airstrikes. 'Iranian government-affiliated cyber actors will probably prioritize retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets in the short term but may target U.S. networks due to their perception of U.S. support for Israeli strikes,' the DHS said. 6 Awesome New Features Coming in Android 16!

In a post on X, Mr. Sarma said one person each was apprehended from Tinsukia and Nagaon districts. "Crackdown on anti-Hindu elements continues... 97 anti-national and anti-Hindu culprits behind bars now," he added. Earlier, Opposition AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam was arrested on sedition charges for allegedly defending Pakistan and its complicity in the Pahalgam terror attack. After getting bail in the case, Islam was again detained under the National Security Act (NSA). On May 2, Mr. Sarma threatened to break the legs of those who raised the 'Pakistan zindabad' slogan in the aftermath of the Jammu and Kashmir terror attack. Addressing a campaign rally for the panchayat elections, he had appealed to the people to pray and give strength to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army so that Pakistani terrorists hiding anywhere in the world can be brought for "breaking their legs". Terrorists struck a prime tourist location in Pahalgam in south Kashmir on April 22 killing 26 people, mostly tourists, and injuring several others.
