President Sisi lauds Bohra role in renewing shrines of Ahl Al-Bayt, historical Egyptian mosques
CAIRO – 5 May 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Sultan of the Indian Bohra Community, Sultan Dr. Mufaddal Saifuddin, accompanied by his sons Prince Ja'far El-Sadiq Imadduddin, Prince Taha Najmuddin, and Prince Husain Burhanuddin.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President Sisi extended a warm welcome to Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin as a cherished guest of Egypt.
The President underscored the close historical ties between Egypt and the Bohra community, expressing his profound appreciation for the role played by the Sultan of Bohra in restoring and renewing the shrines of Ahl Al-Bayt and a number of historical Egyptian mosques.
These efforts align with the Egyptian state's broader goals of development and the revitalization of Historic Cairo. The President commended the developmental and charitable projects sponsored by the Bohra community, in collaboration with 'Tahya Misr' fund.
Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome he consistently receives during his visits to Egypt. He conveyed his special appreciation to President El-Sisi for his continued hospitality, lauding the ongoing development and comprehensive renaissance across various sectors in Egypt, alongside the consolidation of the principles of citizenship and tolerance.
The Sultan valued Egypt's leading role in the region in fostering peace, security, and stability.
He highlighted Egypt's dedicated efforts to calm tensions in the region, primarily its initiative to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Each ministry is developing detailed plans to address various scenarios, he emphasized, including the availability of petroleum and natural gas, the continuity of food supply chains, and the provision of essential goods even if the crisis extends for a long period. The Cabinet spokesperson further confirmed that the state has been working for months to ensure energy security, by equipping and connecting three liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels to the national natural gas grid, and the arrival of a fourth vessel soon to enhance the capacity to import LNG, and modernizing the energy sector's infrastructure. Homsany added that 'The current plan was prepared in advance to meet summer needs, and according to the Prime Minister's statements, electricity needs during the summer are fully secured and there are no concerns about power outages.' The monetary policy adopted by the Central Bank of Egypt relies on a flexible exchange rate system, he noted, which allows for a natural balance in the market between ups and downs. He explained: 'The monetary policy has succeeded in eliminating the parallel market and providing the full need for foreign currency, as our foreign exchange resources have become consistent with our needs for the third consecutive month.' Egypt FM urges ceasefire in talks with Arab counterparts - Foreign Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty stressed in phone calls with some of his counterparts on Sunday the importance of securing a ceasefire and halting Israel-Iran military escalation. According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty held separate phone calls with Jordanian FM Ayman Safadi, Saudi FM Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, and Bahraini FM Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The phone discussions touched on the rapid regional developments, particularly the Israel-Iran military escalation and the grave threat and serious repercussions it poses to regional peace and security. During the calls, the Egyptian FM affirmed that political and diplomatic solutions are the only way to avoid expanding the conflict in ways that threaten regional peace and security. Abdelatty and Safadi emphasized the importance of de-escalation, restraint, and prioritising dialogue, warning of the danger of the region slipping into more chaos and tensions. The Egyptian, Saudi, and Bahraini ministers also stressed the need to prioritise political and diplomatic solutions as the only way out of the current crisis and to preserve regional security and stability. The Arab top diplomats further reaffirmed the need to respect state sovereignty, international law, and the principles of the United Nations Charter. Earlier Sunday, the US launched airstrikes targeting three major Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and the Isfahan complex, a move which many observers viewed as supporting Israel's ongoing war against Iran, which began on 13 June. OPEN/ FM stresses Egypt's firm support for Yemen's legitimate government
CAIRO, June 22 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed Egypt's firm support for the legitimate Yemeni government. His remarks came during a meeting on Sunday with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Zindani, on the sidelines of their participation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers' meeting in Turkey's Istanbul. The top Egyptian diplomat called for resuming the Yemeni-Yemeni political process to reach a settlement to the country's crisis. Abdelatty said this settlement should be agreed upon and accepted by various Yemeni political factions, in a way that preserves the unity of Yemen and ends the existing humanitarian crisis. He also highlighted the great importance of the security and stability of Yemen for the security of the entire region. The foreign minister underlined the significance of ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, given that this matter is directly linked to the Egyptian national security.
