Karki OTT Release Date: In 2024, Jai Prakash Reddy headlined a Kannada drama alongside Meenakshi Dinesh, which has finally found a digital home. Directed by Pavithran, the film is produced by Prakash Palani under the banner of Third Eye Media. For all the OTT lovers, Karki will finally be streaming on Sun NXT starting June 20, 2025, as per OTT Play.

Other than the lead duo, the film also stars Sadhu Kokila, Bala Rajwadi, Yathiraj and Mimicry Gopi among others. Based on Mari Selvaraj's Pariyerum Perumal (2018), this Arjun Janya and Abhay Anand musical is cinematographed by Rishikesh and edited by Sri Crazy Mindz.
Karki's plot overview
The story centres on Muthathi Mutturaj (Jai Prakash Reddy), affectionately known as Muthu, a young man from a rural, lower-caste background. Inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Muthu dreams of becoming a lawyer to advocate for marginalised communities. He secures a seat in a law college in the city. At college, Muthu befriends Jyothi Mahalakshmi (Meenakshi Dinesh), an upper-caste student who assists him in learning English.
Their friendship deepens, and she invites him to her sister's lavish wedding. However, societal pressures surface when her father's concern for their safety highlights the risks posed by their friendship in a caste-conscious society. The relationship faces challenges as caste-based prejudices lead to tragic events, including the loss of Muthu's beloved dog, Karki.
