World nettle eating competition returns to Bottle Inn Pub in Dorset

The world nettle eating competition has returned to the Bottle Inn Pub in Marshwood, Dorset, after a hiatus. The pub closed in 2019, which meant the competition was taken on by Dorset Nectar Cider Farm in Waytown. Nettle stalks are cut into 2ft (61cm) lengths and eaten by contestants who are given cider, which they can drink or dip the nettles into to moisten them. Michael Hobbs won the men's competition this year with a length of 74 feet while the women's winner Lucy Dermody won after eating 68 feet of stinging nettles. The competition began around 40 years ago and was originally a nettle growing competition, however when a contestant said he'd eat anyones nettle that was longer than his, a new competition was born.

Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori were seen browsing a snack display in the shop at the Spanish hotspot, with the couple reportedly staying on the island for six weeks. The store in the popular party resort also stocks tourist gifts such as bags, pool inflatables, soft toys, aprons and bottle openers, as well as saucier items including lewd-shaped lollies. Barmaid Carla Ingham, who has lived in Magaluf for nearly 20 years, heard the rapper, 48, was out shopping with his wife, 30, from a workmate. She told What's The Jam: 'My workmate Lucas first spotted him heading into the supermarket next door. So I started filming myself walking into the shop. 'I called out: ''Hey Kanye'', but it appears the Gold Digger star didn't answer.' Since walking down the aisle with Censori, the rapper has encouraged his wife to wear a number of very racy looks, which have caused a stir online. Last month, Censori angered locals after baring her breasts in a sheer bra during a shopping trip with West in Spain. Locals were 'left horrified' as the couple walked through the market in the revealing ensemble. One witness told 'People were horrified. No strangers to scandal, West and Censori have continuously raised eyebrows over their choices in clothing, with Bianca's barely-there looks sparking fury from locals. During a previous Italian trip in 2023, Censori wore a slew of eccentric outfits during the couple's getaway. At the time her sheer and mesh outfits, which left her breasts clearly visible, were described by social media users as 'disrespectful' in a country known for its conservative Catholic heritage. There were even calls being made for Kanye and Bianca to be arrested, after they were spotted enjoying an amorous moment on a boat, with West exposing his bare buttocks in front of gawking tourists. Outrage hit an all-time high after photos emerged of the American rapper seated at the back of the river taxi while Bianca placed her head in his lap. In February 2025, the couple shocked the world after she exposed herself on the red carpet in a see-through dress.
