Porsha Williams says she paid Simon Guobadia's child support during ICE detainment

Express Tribune4 days ago

Reality TV star Porsha Williams has claimed she financially supported her estranged husband Simon Guobadia while he was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) earlier this year.
In newly leaked audio from their divorce proceedings, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum can be heard saying she paid Guobadia's child support and household expenses during his time in custody.
'Yes, I paid his child support for his two sons. I also paid maintenance for the house—outside of utilities,' Williams said in audio shared by Vibe. 'I really got concerned, being that Simon was still detained… I'm still married to him at the end of the day.'
Guobadia was detained by ICE in February 2025 and held for four months before being deported to Nigeria. Despite the circumstances, he recently told Us Weekly he holds no resentment toward Donald Trump or his immigration policies, even expressing admiration for the former president's leadership style.
Williams and Guobadia were married for just over a year. Their prenup agreement reportedly includes monthly alimony, property division, and coverage of legal fees.
This latest development adds further tension to their high-profile split, with fans closely watching how the divorce unfolds both legally and publicly.

Dodgers block ICE agents from entering stadium amid LA immigration raids

Photo: Police officers face off with demonstrators in downtown Los Angeles, California, U.S. June 8, 2025. REUTERS The Los Angeles Dodgers claim they denied entry to federal immigration agents who appeared at Dodger Stadium on Thursday amid growing tension over ICE raids in the city. According to a statement posted on social media, the baseball team said: 'ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,' but were turned away. The post has drawn national attention as immigration protests escalate across Los Angeles. This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight's game will be played as scheduled. — Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) June 19, 2025 ICE quickly denied the Dodgers' claim, posting on X that 'False. We were never there.' The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later clarified that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicles were briefly present in the parking lot but insisted it was unrelated to any enforcement operation. False. We were never there. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (@ICEgov) June 19, 2025 This incident comes as the Dodgers are reportedly planning to announce new support for immigrants affected by recent federal raids. No official details have been released, but it would mark the team's first public stance on the issue. Dodgers player Kiké Hernández expressed his frustration on Instagram, calling the situation 'saddening and infuriating,' and defending the immigrant community of Los Angeles as his 'second home.' The citywide crackdown is part of a broader Trump administration effort to increase arrests and deportations, which has included deploying thousands of National Guard troops and U.S. Marines to the area. White House border czar Tom Homan confirmed on Thursday that worksite raids—including at farms and hotels—will resume immediately. The Dodgers' response adds a high-profile voice to the growing chorus of opposition to the administration's immigration enforcement tactics.

Bad Bunny explains why he is skipping US cities during the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour

Bad Bunny has confirmed that his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour will not include performances in the United States. In a recent interview with Variety, the Puerto Rican superstar called American shows "unnecessary" and shared that his focus is on creating meaningful live experiences, particularly for fans closer to home. The decision comes as he prepares for an extensive 30-date residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, titled No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, which begins on July 11 and ends on September 14 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny described the residency's title, which translates to I Don't Want to Leave Here, as a reflection of his deep emotional connection to his homeland. While some fans find the move unusual, others believe it is a statement especially in light of the current political climate of the US as the Trump administration, facilitated by ICE, continues its crackdown on Hispanic immigrants. When asked about a potential concert film for US fans, his manager Noah Assad said there have been discussions, but added that they prefer not to release permanent footage of shows. Bad Bunny's Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour is set to launch in November and will support his sixth solo album, which recently achieved strong first-week sales. Despite skipping US dates, his impact continues to grow internationally.

Mark Ruffalo criticises Trump, defends immigrants in fiery political statement

Actor and activist Mark Ruffalo has launched a scathing critique of U.S. President Donald Trump and wealthy elites, arguing that billionaires—not immigrants—pose the greater threat to American society. In a video shared to social media and in a statement posted on Instagram, Ruffalo said that immigrants "add to our economy by the billions" and are unfairly demonised, while billionaires are 'stealing you blind.' The Oscar nominee and Marvel actor accused the ultra-wealthy of manipulating power and fostering economic desperation, stating, 'It's time to take our country back from extreme wealth that has its hands all over the power of the nation.' Ruffalo, who has long been vocal on political and social issues, particularly immigration policy, participated in the recent No Kings protest opposing Trump-era deportation practices. He condemned ongoing ICE raids and criticised the mindset of Americans who blame immigrants for societal problems. 'You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food… but not question those who dull your minds with lies and disinformation,' Ruffalo wrote. He also criticised Trump directly, referring to him as a 'grifter' and accusing his family of profiting through dubious ventures, including cryptocurrency schemes. 'You are worried about the poorest of the poor ruining your life?' Ruffalo asked, 'while the billionaire up top is stealing you blind.' Ruffalo expanded his criticism to include tech billionaires, saying they were enriching themselves with taxpayer money while ignoring urgent social issues like famine, disease, and political persecution. Outside activism, Ruffalo continues to take on major roles in Hollywood. He stars in Bong Joon Ho's upcoming sci-fi film Mickey 17 and will lead the new HBO series Task, a police drama from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, set to premiere in September.
