Is BTS Star V In Squid Game's Season 3? Fans Think So
Last Updated:
V, on Weverse, said, 'This is probably... Maybe if we wait a little longer, I think it'll come out. But it's not really a big deal. Oh, but to me, it's actually a huge deal.'
With all the members of BTS already out of the military, and their reported comeback to the music scene months away, fans have been waiting for the solo endeavours of the members. One of the biggest buzzes right now is regarding Kim Taehyung, aka V. Rumours are rife that he might possibly be seen in the upcoming season of Netflix's Squid Game. If that happens, it would be V's second acting job after Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.
On Friday, June 20, 10 days after his military discharge, V went live again on Weverse. During the interaction with his fans, the 29-year-old K-pop idol gave a glimpse into his life after the military and even talked about a new project on which he had been intensely focused for the last few days. As quoted by a fan page, V said, 'This is probably… Maybe if we wait a little longer, I think it'll come out. But it's not really a big deal. Oh, but to me, it's actually a huge deal."
This hint of something 'big" coming up caused a frenzy online, with ARMYs trying to figure out about V's new project. While some thought he might have a cameo in Squid Game season 3, which is scheduled to be released on June 27, others thought he might have been roped in for another K-drama.
One fan said, 'His Squid Game cameo?" Another added, 'Maybe Squid Game's finale. When asked about Tae being on Squid Games, on Jimmy Fallon's show, the actor pressed both buttons. He already wore the costume at one of the concerts. Clearly, he was excited. He might be talking about that."
A different fan wrote, 'A single??? Movie announcement??? Drama???? Dance video????? Any gym videos or pics????? Oh Goddd." Another one commented, 'Guys, we are definitely getting actor Taehyung. He has been working on this since he got back from the military, and I am sure he will do a great job. I am so excited, I have been waiting for years, and it is finally happening." 'He's definitely doing some kdrama. I am damn sure," penned another ecstatic fan.
Previously, BTS' V had sparked similar buzz just before the release of Squid Game season 2. He was seen at a concert wearing a similar guard jumpsuit, which fuelled the speculations. Moreover, the K-pop idol is also close to the show's protagonist, Lee Jung Jae, who plays the role of Seong Gi Hun, aka Player 456. However, there are also murmurs that V might release a new solo album or singles like his fellow members Jin and J-Hope.
