Resurfaced video shows Sean 'Diddy' Combs inviting 13-year-old to after party
A chilling video clip shows the moment a laughing Sean 'Diddy' Combs invites a 13 year old actress to an afterparty he's throwing in 2003. The footage captures Combs extending an invitation to Daveigh Chase, star of The Ring, to join him at an MTV event party, following her award presentation on stage.
Combs, who has been held in jail since his high-profile arrest in September 2024, is currently on trial in New York. The music mogul has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In the resurfaced clip, Combs asks Daveigh Chase: "Are you coming to the after party tonight?" Combs was at the VMAs alongside Ashton Kutcher to present the 'Best Villain' award, which Chase won.
This old clip has re-emerged amidst separate and shocking allegations from an individual claiming she was raped by Combs and another unnamed celebrity at a VMA afterparty three years earlier, when she was just 13.
Chase has not made any comment regarding the resurfaced video and there's no evidence suggesting anything inappropriate occurred at the 2003 afterparty.
Combs was seen encouraging Chase on stage as she delivered her acceptance speech for her win in the 'Best Villain' category. She bagged the award for her performance in The Ring. She was later snapped alongside Combs and Kutcher at the VH1 Big In '03 event.
Over the weekend Combs' legal team called for a mistrial after the third week of his trial concluded. His lawyers make a fresh bid to halt the trial, citing "prosecutorial misconduct".
In a letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian on Saturday, June 7, the defence claims "the government has presented testimony that it knew or should have known was materially false related to its allegation that Mr. Combs dangled Bryana Bongolan from the balcony of Cassie Ventura's apartment in September 2016."
According to PEOPLE, who obtained sight of the correspondence, it stated: "Accordingly, to avoid an unfair conviction in this case the Court should grant a mistrial."
The defence team for the Bad Boy Records founder also challenged the credibility of testimony from his former partner Cassie, who alleged she saw Combs dangle Bryana from a balcony. They argue her account is "demonstrably false", pointing to text messages that suggest she only heard about the incident later.
The letter further contends: "The incident, as alleged, is disturbing and powerful evidence, and the government has used it to depict Mr. Combs in an extremely negative light, as an angry and dangerous man who terrified Ms. Ventura and her friends."
The defence team argued that the prosecution presented photos of Bryana's alleged injuries from the incident, which were claimed to have been taken on 26 September 2016 in Los Angeles, despite "the government has long known" Combs was in New York City between 24-29 September that year.
They also accused the prosecution of "repeatedly attempting to disrupt" their line of questioning when they tried to "expose the perjury upon cross-examination.
"All of this was highly improper and exacerbated the harm caused by [...] the perjured testimony," the letter continued. "The balcony incident is just one example of prosecutorial misconduct during this trial."

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding in Venice is approaching: Everything to Know
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sanchez, are getting set to tie the knot in one of the year's most anticipated weddings. '(I'm) very excited about it,' she told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie while appearing on TODAY in November 2024. '(I'm) thinking about the dress, I have to say. I do have a Pinterest. I'm just like every other bride. So I do have a Pinterest board.' Sanchez, 55, is also a pilot and children's book author whom many fans may recognize for her work as a correspondent on 'Extra.' She said she is amazed at the trajectory of her own life. 'I never thought at 54 — I'm going to be 55 — that I'd be an author, that I'd be getting married,' she said on TODAY. 'I mean, life is just beginning. When I was 20, I thought, 'Oh my gosh, life is over at 50.' Let me tell you: It is not, ladies. It is not over. It is just beginning.' When is Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding? The couple's wedding celebration is expected to take place from June 24 to June 26 in Venice, Italy, a spokesperson for the mayor of Venice had told CNN. Where is it? The wedding will take place in Venice, Italy. The impending nuptials have sparked protests from people who are concerned that the couple are taking over the city and causing overcrowding, as tourists have descended upon Venice. Despite the outrage, the Municipality of Venice said in a statement in March that the city is ready to oversee the wedding. 'The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded,' the municipality said. 'Only 200 guests will have been invited and therefore it will be easy for Venice to accommodate such an event, without any disruption whatsoever to the city, its residents and visitors.' Who is on the guest list? The guest list hasn't been released, but People reported Sanchez's bachelorette party in May featured the likes of Katy Perry — who flew aboard with Sanchez on Bezos' Blue Origin all-female trip to space in April — Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Eva Longoria. Vogue reports the party had other heavy hitters on hand, too, including Fox Sports' Charissa Thompson and Veronica Grazer, whose husband is Hollywood producer Brian Grazer. When did Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez get engaged? The couple were first romantically linked in 2019, according to People. Bezos and Sanchez announced their engagement in 2023. Earlier that year, Sanchez gushed about Bezos in an Instagram post for his birthday. 'Happy birthday to the man of my dreams, who lights up my world with his laughter and kind heart,' she wrote. 'You have shown me that no great love is not bravely fought for. Thank you for always being by my side and for being the most loving and supportive partner. I am so grateful for the memories we have made and the adventures yet to come. Here's to many more birthdays filled with love and laughter. 'Te amo con todo mi corazon,' she ended the post, which is Spanish for, 'I love you with all my heart.' Bezos was previously married to MacKenzie Scott from 1993 to 2019. The couple have four children together. Sanchez was previously married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, with whom she has two kids. She also has a son with her former partner Tony Gonzalez, a retired NFL star.

An ex-college basketball player testifies that Sean 'Diddy' Combs got 'extremely creative' on drugs
A former Syracuse University basketball player who worked recently for Sean 'Diddy' Combs as a personal assistant testified at the music mogul's sex trafficking trial on Friday that Combs got 'extremely creative' when he was on drugs. Brendan Paul, 26, was arrested last year at a Miami airport with cocaine he says belonged to Combs, and he testified with immunity about what it was like working for the hip-hop entrepreneur for a year and a half. Paul was arrested in March 2024 — the same day federal agents conducted multiple searches related to the Combs' investigation. Prosecutors are winding down their case after six weeks of testimony from an array of witnesses ranging from ex-girlfriends and former employees to male sex workers and the rapper Kid Cudi. Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, even made a surprise appearance at the courthouse. The prosecution seeks to convince the jury that Combs oversaw a sprawling racketeering enterprise for two decades that relied on obedience by employees willing to do anything for him, including buying drugs when necessary. Defense lawyers say Combs did not commit federal crimes, although they acknowledge that prosecutors have exposed domestic violence during the trial. After pleading not guilty following his September arrest at a Manhattan hotel, Combs has been held without bail at a federal lockup in Brooklyn. Prosecutors were expected to rest their case by Monday. A defense presentation is expected to last from two to five days. Paul said he bought drugs for Combs between five and 10 times, spending up to $500 for drugs including cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy and marijuana. He said he only did drugs with Combs once, when Combs asked him to try 'tusi,' also known as pink cocaine, to see if it was good. Paul said he did so because he 'wanted to prove my loyalty' and said he thought it was good. 'We continued on with our night,' he told Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavic. Paul said that prior to his arrest, he had forgotten about the cocaine after collecting it while 'sweeping' Combs' room that morning and had accidentally left it in a bag he carried as he prepared to go on vacation with Combs and other aides. The charges were dismissed after Paul completed a pretrial diversion program. Under questioning by defense attorney Brian Steel, Paul said his 'heart dropped' when he realized that there was cocaine in a travel bag after telling officers at the airport that everything in the bag belonged to him. Steel asked Paul if Combs was generally happy and didn't hurt anyone when he was on drugs. 'He got extremely creative,' Paul responded. At another point, Steel asked the witness: 'You would not work for a criminal, would you?' 'Absolutely not,' Paul responded. Slavic, though, elicited Paul's mixed feelings about Combs when the prosecutor asked him just before he finished his testimony: 'Sitting here today, how do you feel about Mr. Combs?' 'It's complicated,' he answered. Paul, originally from Cleveland, was a 6-foot-2 guard who walked on at Syracuse University and came off the bench in 16 games over two seasons, playing a total of 17 minutes and scored just 3 points. He later transferred to lower-tier Fairmont State University in West Virginia, where he played for two more seasons.

Ex-assistant to Sean 'Diddy' Combs says job included buying drugs, setting up sex parties
NEW YORK, June 20 (Reuters) - Sean 'Diddy' Combs' former personal assistant testified on Friday at the hip-hop mogul's sex trafficking trial that he often bought drugs for his boss and set up hotel rooms for sex parties known as "wild king nights." Prosecutors hope the testimony by Brendan Paul, who worked for Combs from late 2022 through March 2024, will help them prove their racketeering conspiracy charge against Combs. Prosecutors say Combs used his businesses' resources to coerce women into ecstasy-fueled sexual performances with male sex workers. Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to all five criminal counts. His lawyers call the sexual activity consensual. The Bad Boy Records founder, a former billionaire who elevated hip-hop in American culture, could face life in prison if convicted. Prosecutors are winding down their case after six weeks, with defense witnesses expected to testify next week. Paul, testifying under immunity from prosecutors, said he bought Combs about $4,200 of marijuana and hundreds of dollars of ketamine during his employment. Jurors saw a text message in which Paul asked Combs' security staff to be reimbursed for his drug purchases. They also saw a Feb. 14, 2024 text message in which Combs wrote "You get me zans," which Paul said was a request to procure Xanax without a prescription. Paul said Combs ultimately obtained Xanax elsewhere, and used cocaine and ecstasy in his presence. Under cross-examination by defense lawyer Brian Steel, Paul said procuring drugs was a minor part of his job, and he thought the drugs were solely for Combs' personal use. "You were not some drug mule?" Steel asked. "Absolutely not," Paul said. Paul also said that before three or four "wild king nights," he stocked hotel rooms with lubricant, baby oil, liquor and a Gucci pouch filled with hard drugs. When Combs was done, Paul said he would put on gloves and clean up to avoid being billed by hotels for damage. Paul said he was charged with cocaine possession after being arrested on March 25, 2024, at Miami-Opa Locka airport in Florida while traveling to the Bahamas with Combs and other staffers. He said he put the cocaine in his bag after finding it while cleaning Combs' room that day, but forgot about it and did not tell law enforcement where it came from. Asked by prosecutor Christy Slavik why he kept silent, Paul said, "Loyalty." Paul said the cocaine charge was dropped.
