UAE, May 2025 – As the Title and Technical Partner of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team, PETRONAS continues to play a pivotal role in co-engineering high performance fuels, lubricants and functional fluids that power the team's success on the track and beyond.
A cornerstone of this collaboration is the PETRONAS Global Research & Technology (R&T) Centre in Turin, which, over the course of the 15-year partnership, has played a central role in the development of Championship-winning formulations, while also driving innovation for the next generation of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), alternative fuels and energy-efficient lubricants for everyday use. The Global R&T Centre reflects PETRONAS' commitment to continuous progress through engineering excellence, thus enabling track-to-road innovation on a global scale.
In line with this longstanding partnership, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team driver Kimi Antonelli today visited the PETRONAS Global R&T Centre as part of his continued technical familiarisation with the company's operations and innovations. The visit provided Antonelli with a closer understanding of PETRONAS' technical capabilities and the critical part this partnership plays in driving the team's performance.
The visit marks the next phase in Antonelli's onboarding with PETRONAS since becoming one of the team's drivers, and follows his initial introduction to PETRONAS at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur in March.
This visit gave Antonelli a first-hand look at the science, innovation and collaboration behind PETRONAS Fluid Technology Solutions™ – a suite of next generation lubricants, fuels and functional fluids engineered for peak performance and reliability that power his performance on track.
PETRONAS Vice President of Group Strategic Relations and Communications, Ir. Antonelli was received at the PETRONAS Global R&T Centre by Khalil Muri, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), the global lubricants manufacturing and marketing arm of PETRONAS.
He was then brought on a guided tour of the advanced state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, where he engaged with PLI's industry-leading team of experts, explored the advanced R&D processes behind championship-winning fuels and fluids designed for both the track and everyday road use.

Antonelli's visit comes ahead of this weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the legendary Imola circuit, just a stone's throw from his birthplace in Bologna, which will be the Italian driver's first-time racing in his home country in Formula One.

EGA supplies CelestiAL solar aluminium to global automotive parts maker Hyundai Mobis - Middle East Business News and Information
Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates and the world's biggest 'premium aluminium' producer, today announced an agreement to increase its CelestiAL solar aluminium supply to Hyundai Mobis, the global automotive parts maker. CelestiAL solar aluminium is the world's first aluminium made commercially with solar power, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement is an extension of an existing supply agreement with Hyundai Mobis. EGA began supplying aluminium to Hyundai Mobis in 2015. EGA supplies Hyundai Mobis with 66 thousand tonnes of metal in total each year. Under the new agreement, the volume of CelestiAL supplied to Hyundai Mobis will increase from eight thousand this year to up to 15 thousand tonnes per year by 2026. EGA and Mobis will explore a long-term agreement beyond 2026 to supply value-added products, including billets, primary foundry alloys and recycled aluminium. EGA and Hyundai Mobis will also collaborate to innovate exclusive new alloys for automotive applications. Aluminium is a key metal for the automotive industry due to its lightweight, strength, and corrosion resistance properties. EGA is one of the largest suppliers of foundry alloys to the automotive industry worldwide. Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium , said: 'At EGA, we remain committed to innovation in delivering the highest quality, low-carbon aluminium to our customers. We value our successful partnership with Hyundai Mobis and look forward to building on this collaboration in the years ahead. We appreciate their continued trust in EGA and our world-first CelestiAL solar aluminium.' Sun Woo Lee, Senior Vice President, Head of Procurement of Hyundai Mobis , said 'With a partnership with EGA, we will proactively respond to global environmental regulations by establishing a green supply chain using low carbon aluminium.' In 2024, production of CelestiAL solar aluminium grew by 27 per cent to 80 thousand tonnes, including eight thousand tonnes of CelestiAL-R further sweetened with recycled content. Mercedes-Benz Egypt has introduced the all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV in Egypt. The vehicle delivers 658 hp and offers a range of up to 600 km. This launch is part of the company's ongoing efforts to provide luxury high-performance vehicles and expand its range of top-tier models in the Egyptian market, presenting an all-electric luxury SUV focused on sustainable mobility while retaining Maybach brand characteristics. Exterior Design Features The exterior of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV includes distinctive visual highlights such as the signature Maybach grille and emblem. An option for a two-tone paint finish, accented by detailed pinstriping, is available. For a more modern and dynamic aesthetic, the Night Series package offers exclusive dark-themed design elements. Customisable ambient lighting is designed to enhance the user experience.
